Happy April everyone! We just wanted to show our appreciation for all your concerns with our last update. That was sent in error and we assure you all our employees are happy, healthy and alive. If you've notice us being quiet, it's because everyone at Zodiac is hard at work working on something we can't announce just yet! But be sure to check back April 15th, the day after our quarter CEO board meeting, for the exciting announcement!

Hello! Thank you for using the Libra App!

Happy March everyone! We're happy to see that everyone were able to return from the Constant in one piece! And even better, we've detected that a fair number more people had their spirit readings return to normal. Some iskeais have also left the world and have hopefully returned to their homes! We feel this is a sign that our efforts are making excellent progress and that it's really not necessary for the Black Order to continue sending more Guardians. We thank you for your service, though we're sure you have much more important matters elsewhere to deal with.

Second, it seems we've also receive the approval for a couple representatives from POKEGO to join the app. The higher ups have assured us that the researchers with POKEGO are nothing to be concerned about. We understand this a complete reversal of Zodiac's previous stance of working with that organization, but the board of executives have insisted it's fine! So that's what we're going with!

Finally, our seers have indicated that they've had visions hinting that the Fae may be passing through again. We are attending other matters, so our assistance will be limited this month, but you guys handled them once so you should be able to handle them again! Just remember, don't give your real name and make sure to bring some iron, and you'll be just fine! We believe in you!

If you guys can see this, I probably don't need to explain what the Black Order is, right? Yeah, that makes sense. I'm actually not a full agent yet--I'm still a trainee for a few months--so getting this assignment is a huge honor. I'm really excited to be in Kaisou!

So, in light of the current information on our next upcoming disaster and knowing not everyone is from Earth or otherwise knows much of mythology, I'd like to put forth a quick rundown on what we could be dealing with. For those who may not know me: I'm Professor Waver Velvet, and believe me when I say I've studied this.

Banshees
Spirits taking the form of cloaked women with long hair. Heard to scream, wail, sing laments, you get the idea. Doing so most commonly foretells the death of a family member, but an omen of death in general is also applicable depending on interpretation. Ordinarily they do not cause death, merely warn for it. Although I am not fully confident in committing to that, where things never quite turn out as I expect them to.

Leprechauns
Largely the bastardized interpretation of vaguely similar creatures, the folklore around them rose to prominence in more recent centuries. In other words: contrary to popular belief, leprechauns are fucking fake. Not that that will stop anything, because collective belief and magic are a hell of a feedback loop. Just in case: don't follow any rainbows, don't touch any gold, and in fact just stay far away from troublemaking little bastards in green.

Fae (general)
Carry iron to repel them. If you have or know of ways to ward against or see through illusions, be prepared to utilize them. Charms of rowan branches might work, as well. If you see anything like mushrooms or flowers growing in a circle do not under any circumstances cross into it.

Speaking of contributions, we'd like to remind residents within the Zodiac apartment complex that while your residency is rent-free, it is not responsibility-free. As such, you are responsible for any property damage to the building that occurs either by your hand or any your guests, and you will be required to cover the cost of repairs. Please remember this the next time you feel a temptation to take out a wall.

Related to that prior point, we apologize for any discomfort with the heating that you've been experiencing. Unfortunately we're struggling to keep the building's heat in due to a couple individuals blowing out a wall. Thank you for your understanding.

Finally, we've understand there's been concerns raised about the presence of Black Order members on the Libra App. We want to assure you that their presence here was cleared through the proper channels, and that they are here to assist with the unusual situation we've found ourselves in. Hi, so, been a bit. I'm Arthur, the library kid, for those who don't know. I, uh, wanna set up a club or regular group or something, outside of school, you know? Problem is I dunno what. Like, just a regular bad movie night or something, or a kinetic sculpture race, or something like that.

And, uh, if I can get something going, then I'm not coming back to school. It was my parents' condition, that I have to still have a regular social life thing. So, anyone have any--

[His eyes drift up away from the camera, glazing over as they focus on....something. and he just stares like that, as the seconds tick by. The feed keeps going and he won't respond. It's getting to be a good minute or two of nothing other than the angle getting crookeder as the phone slips in his grip.

And then Arthur gets up, turns on his heel, starts to run, and crashes right into something. The phone doesn't see what, but clatters off to the side, face-down so the screen is dark.]

...owwww. S-So, uh. Yeah. Why now? Really can't do, do the school thing anymore. Still need a social life. Need ideas for how to do that. O-Oh, and, uh, I'm okay! [The phone gets a view again, light and blurry fingers trying to cut the feed. Arthur mutters something angry about a lion, then finally cuts the feed.]

[At some point on the 20th, after the prophecy post goes out, the Zodiac apartments are shaken with a loud KA-BOOM! While the damage to other apartments is minimal at best, one apartment has definitely borne the brunt of it. Pieces of Varian and Fern's place can be found blown outwards and onto the street below. There are a lot of swords and dangerous chemicals strewn about so...maybe be careful if you're gonna go around touching any of them. There's a hissing sound from up high where there seems to be a fire extinguisher being used on putting out the fire up there and a distant "I GOT IT, I GOT IT!"

...They might not, in fact, have got this.]

[A few hours after the explosion, the video opens on a still slightly sooty-looking Varian and Fern. They're both looking pretty sheepish after that mess. Varian clears his throat.]

So uh...you might have noticed the explosion earlier in the Zodiac Apartments. Sorry, that was- I was examining one of those peaches we got from the spirit realm. Zodiac seemed so determined to get their hands on one I-I wanted to figure out what they were about. See if I could maybe reverse engineer one to counteract whatever it is Zodiac plans to do with them. But uh-

[He waves his hand, to show that it kind of...went wrong. Obviously. ]

But sometimes junk goes boom. It's the price of doing good science.

[Fern no, that isn't how science works at all, don't play favourites just because Varian was the one who caused it.]

It doesn't look like anyone got hurt. And the explosion was kinda sick! Who knew fruit could do that??

[Varian's kind of casually covering his face with his hands as Fern decidedly plays favourites on their apology tour. He lets out a soft whine, and then looks at the camera again.]

Anyway, Fern's right, I definitely didn't expect it to have...uh explosive properties. I think the damage was largely contained to our place, but if anyone else's apartments were damaged please let us know, we'll come and help fix it up or pay for the damages. Sorry.

[He clears his throat again. He's agreed to sort out the damages for his and Fern's place with Zodiac, but he is NOT gonna voice that right now. He has a chance to figure out what Zodiac are about, maybe even find a way to sabotage what they're doing. But he's no stranger to treason- if he announces to the whole network what he's planning, Zodiac will know in an instant. He hates hiding the truth, it's against what he believes in, but this time it's necessary. ]

So um- important thing to glean from this if you have one? Do not eat the peach. And definitely don't touch the peach juices or breathe in any of the peach dust because that's...bad.

[Aw, Fern is just going to give Varian a reassuring pat on the shoulder. As far as he's concerned it wasn't a huge deal - some stuff got smashed, sure, but his swords survived and the four of them (Fern, Varian, Ruddiger and his new fomantis) are all fine. He wasn't super attached to the apartment, either.

Sorting out the damages with Zodiac is a whole other kettle of fish that he doesn't want to think about right now.]

Yeahhh. Dunno if anyone actually ate the peach, but ever since it exploded in our faces we've both been feeling a lot - man, how do I describe it? - clingier? To areas in the city that have gates. Those're where the spirit veins run, right?

[He doesn't know, he isn't an expert here.]

But it's probably nothing!

[And he looks a little concerned when he says that, like he wants to make sure everyone knows he's not just That Guy.] I'm still getting normal ass readings and no one else has gone "got a vision" yet, so this is not that. This is me....basically putting a help wanted ad out.

If you didn't know, I run Blackbird Tarot and Tailoring. I usually just drop the "and tailoring" on all the social media since most people don't call it that. Anyway. With all the shit of the last year, my graduation coming up this year, and who fucking knows what else to come, Iiiiiii need a part-timer for the tailoring part. It's not a real apprenticeship, I can't afford that much, but we'd work out payment and hours and shit. You'd mostly be doing like, hems and measurements and the really basic shit unless and until I think your skills are up to the rest of the shit.
