Right. Well, I'm going to assume everyone has seen the giant tower that just appear in the middle of the city. [seriously that thing is so stupid tall, he'd forgotten how tall it was and comparing it to everything in Kaisou is... no.]

That is the Crystal Tower. (And before anyone from Eorzea asks, no I did not try to summon it.)

[he's so tired guys this is not his fault he swears.]

I will give a more thorough explanation if need be, but the crux of the matter is we are going to need to deal with it in some capacity, and quickly. It is, essentially, both a giant research facility and magic conduit, and trust me when I say we do not want anyone with ill intent to get their hands on it.

With any luck, the security to keep it out of meddling hands is still in place, but I don't wish to count on it. And... there is obviously the fact that it is just there, in broad daylight.

My name is Sorey Shepard, or you can call me Dr. Rosewood if you want a bit of distance. I work with POKEGO as a psychologist. More specifically, I research any psychological effects the Spirit Gates have on people, so that I can use that knowledge to inform any therapies I perform.

[He leans back a little from the camera.]

I understand that we, as an organization, have lost a lot of trust. I'm certain my colleague has already fielded many of your questions, but I'm also willing to share what I know and answer questions to the best of my ability.

[A pause for a beat.]

WHAT: Yuri very abruptly has some wolf features and he's freaking out about them. And also sneezing.

[Yuri is not only annoyed, but also a little freaked out. And, well, his eyes are a bit bloodshot and watery. He's not having a good time. He opens his mouth to say something only for it to turn into a sneeze before he can get a word out.]

Fuck. Hang on.

[UGH. He sets the phone down for a bit to do... something in the background. He comes back in about a minute or two. A pair of wolf ears can briefly be seen before it refocuses mostly on his face.]

Sorry. Uh, so, is there anyone else experiencing something like this?

[Yuri pulls the camera further away so that everyone can see that yep. Those are definitely wolf ears.]

Also, fun fact, if you yourself are becoming partially a canine of some kind and you're severely allergic to dogs and cats? It absolutely extends to being allergic to yourself. It's so fun.

Apologies that I went absent without warning; my defense took up more of my time than I expected and then I immediately went to visit my family after. And they weren't keen on me having my phone for some reason...

It seems things went alright last month? But given the forecast I thought I'd mention that I made some protection charms while I was gone and a few on the plane back, if anyone would like some. Mostly stealth variety but--

WHAT: Raha gets a weird new app, at the same time as some other weird stuff.

I can't quite decide if the timing of this app just... appearing on my phone is highly fortuitous or extremely suspicious. It's possible to have some sort of spell that would distribute it once people fulfill a number of characteristics; does anyone know if that's why?

I had seen and heard about people undergoing unexpected changes like this, but I hadn't really considered how I'd go about dealing with them if they happened to be. My hope is that my professors just don't notice, but in the case that they do, how have people gone about explaining it? For me it's red eyes and a surprising number of tattoos. The main worry is that most of them are near impossible to hide, which fortunately seems to be less of an issue in academia than it used to be, but some people definitely still frown on it.

The city of Kaisou has always been a hole-in-the-wall kind of town. While prosperous and peaceful, it's usually overlooked by the rest of the country and left to its own devices. Perhaps you were born and raised here, perhaps opportunity brought you here, or perhaps you don't know why you're here at all. Whatever the case may be, all your roads led to Kaisou. It's not bad place to be, all in all, so long as you ignore certain holes in the world.
