While researching "Valentines Day", I would have to agree that what I'm mostly getting from it is 'capitalizing on a holiday for couples', but at the same time.

Sometimes it's nice to celebrate things like this, isn't it?

Pretty much every holiday gets turned into a marketing gimmick sooner or later. If it hasn't, that just means no one's figured out how to do it yet.

You're right though. Most the people you hear complaining it's just a case of sour grapes, and they'd be happily celebrating if they were in a relationship anyway.
