upon a haunted haybale
Oct. 13th, 2024 05:57 pmWHO: Jinwoo + Lapis
WHERE: The Shadow Couple go for a halloween date that ends upchaos more romantic than initially expected.
WHEN: Halloween Night
WHAT: Lapis and Jinwoo getting engaged
WARNINGS: Romantic idiots being romantic idiots.
[ Even though Jinwoo could stand around in the sun for a while now--a date on Halloween had to be done during the night. it just had to. It was some unwritten but well documented contract that daytime Halloween was reserved for getting ready for what happened after sunset.
'Getting Ready' meant getting their costumes and makeup done. Because why wouldn't you want to go all out on an important date like this? Jinwoo has plans after all--and has no idea that Lapis too, has certain plans. A little ring hidden in a star-dappled box hidden in one of his hammerspaces that normally his knife is stored in. That way it was safe and even the worst luck in the world couldn't have something to happen to it until the moment he was ready to present it.
Maybe it was a bit cliche, too, that they'd decided their costumes to be Sally and Jack Skellington, but honestly; the costumes were comfortable and Jinwoo felt perfectly comfortable in a black-and-white tuxedo. Spending an hour fancying up Lapis' nails had been fun enough too--given they'd sat on the couch for almost the entire length of The Nightmare Before Christmas getting them done.
If movie-grade makeup skills have taught him anything it was how to make stuff look good.
And now here they are--settling in the back of a horse-drawn carriage, filled with hay, and ready for a night of probably B-Rate Horror stories and to be served cheap hot chocolate during their date.
And yet, Jinwoo looks pleased with himself. ]
There's four different carriages, and the speaker has a microphone so his stories can be heard by everyone riding along. Makes it way less awkward for having the guy right up in our business, right.
I--do apologise that we're probably going to be picking hay out of your hair later tonight, though. [ he's chuckling. ]
