The Halloween season is here, and with it comes the blaring alert sound that comes with a new Zodiac post. Hello! Thank you for using the Libra App!

We hope everyone enjoyed the library excursion! Did you find some new books or learn some new things? Coming across the Great Library really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so it'd be a shame to anyone who missed out!

Now, as we head into October, we at Zodiac want to advice a word of caution. During this time of year, as we get closer to Halloween and Samhain, activity around the Spirit Vein may increase. It's long believed this is due to a natural thinning of the barrier between our world and the Spirit Realm that happens this time of year. Not only can this cause an increase in supernatural incidents, but it can make ordinary people more capable of spotting the supernatural.

Normally we'd say this shouldn't be anything to worry about, but with the recent unusual activity coming from the Spirit Vein- there are concerns these effects will be magnified. We've already received some reports of tears appearing in the city by our agents. So keep an eye out as you go trick-or-treating or on a hayride! It may be the season of scares, but let's try to avoid any dangerous scares, shall we?

forcing your kids to partake in this shit is gonna make them miserable

your performance is important here

bc administration really should not be cutting stuff based on performance measures
but what good is a good performance if the kid hates what they do or anything associated to it?
youll be pushing quite a few kids away from your passion if you make it mandatory
sure you need people to audition
but theres other ways to do it without making people maybe be unhappy about it

the previous guy did the same thing youre doing rn
he forced his freshman and sophomore kids to at least do tryouts for the basketball team
those years the team suffered a lot
because a lot of them didnt want to actually be there
the reason the team does better now is bc i leave it up to them
i know i have more kids
but if you want to have them do well
you also have to encourage them by letting them make their own decisions

basically tl;dr youve got the right idea and passion to prove music is worth it
but forcing kids to do this when they may not want to is deffo not the way to do it
it may end up botching your attempt entirely
not to mention sending at least one or several elitist parents on your ass for making their kids do something they dislike

You're right, I'm sorry for snapping.
I'm under a lot of stress, but it's not your fault the schoolboard made the call it did.

The said...for the freshman class, I still think they need auditions to be mandatory.
But that's only because, and hear me out: I know my class.
The freshman class is so selfless and accommodating that all of them will opt out of auditioning for the sake of others even if deep down, they want the solo spot.
So I want to make sure they have a chance to get that spot.

But I will make the auditions private, so the ones who don't want the solo spot don't have to do anything in front of their peers.
And it'll just be a blanket participation point thing. They won't get graded on how good they are, just that they tried.

Does that sound like a fair compromise to you?
