Happy April everyone! We just wanted to show our appreciation for all your concerns with our last update. That was sent in error and we assure you all our employees are happy, healthy and alive. If you've notice us being quiet, it's because everyone at Zodiac is hard at work working on something we can't announce just yet! But be sure to check back April 15th, the day after our quarter CEO board meeting, for the exciting announcement!

By the way, we've recently been made aware of a gas leak in the Undertown area. We're currently working to contain the leak. Until further notice, we ask that you stay out of the Undertown area for your own protection.

Finally, we'd like to remind tenents in the Zodiac apartments that should you choose to move, we'd appreciate you contact us with a change of address form so we know where to deliver any mail! So Varian and Fern, if you could please contact us with your change of address, that'd be great. :)

Y-Yeah, I guess...it's just our conversation over the app made all of this feel a lot more real.

[Instinct tells Ryouta that Jun should be comforted, and the best way to do that is by preening his feathers. So, he's going to start gently preening one of Jun's wings with one hand.]

It's pretty scary, I'm not gonna pretend otherwise. But I'm gonna be as careful as I can, and I'm gonna make sure I shake off the rust with at least my kendo skills.

[He's used to Mikleo tending to his wings, so the gesture is pretty comforting in its own way- though he does feel his chest tighten when he realizes it's Ryouta doing it. don't mind him, he's gay]

[He pauses, because he knows his emotions are coming from more than just his own concerns about the current situation. It's not the first time they've encountered something dangerous but...

Well, that's kind of ominous coming from Jun. Still, it's an easy answer for Ryouta.]

[He'll pull away a little so he can look properly at Ryouta. He knows he was told to keep things a secret, but honestly...he cared more about his relationship with Ryouta more than keeping things nice for the Black Order.]

Some people are planning a mission to deal with this current situation. It's been kept underwraps so Zodiac doesn't catch wind and put a stop to it. Even I'm not privy to all the details myself.

Even so, I was selected to take part in the mission. It'll take place in a couple days.

[Ryouta loosens his hold on Jun so that he can pull away. It does make sense that they've had to keep it under the radar with how weird this Zodiac company's being. And them wanting that Varian and Fern kids' location is extremely concerning. That Jun's going to be part of it... Ryouta can't deny being worried.]

I know you can take care of yourself 'cause holy knight and all that, but... are you gonna be okay? And is there anything I can do to help you?

[Staying behind while Jun puts his life on the line for them doesn't sit well with the brunet. He's not exactly sure why, yet, and it's hard to tell if it's because of his swan instincts wanting to protect Jun or if it's something else.]

[The worry is understandable. Jun is worried, if he's honest. There's too many unknowns, and the selected party has their fair share of well...they ain't shonen heroes, that's for sure]

I can't say for sure, but I'm going to do everything I can to stay okay. And Mikleo will be there to support me every step of the way.

[As for Ryouta...the obvious answer is "no". He can't bring Ryouta along. Even Mikleo he was sneaking in technically, and he was only managing that by Mikleo being able to hide within him. And even if he could sneak Ryouta in...he wouldn't. He was just too unskilled.

He still feels bad though, having to be the one to say that]

Not this time, I'm afraid. I'm not the one leading the mission, so I'd get in trouble if I tried to bring someone else along.

[Ryouta nods at that.]

Well, Mikleo being there takes a lot of worry off my mind, if I'm being honest.

[At least he doesn't look disappointed at being told no, especially with that explanation, but it doesn't make him feel any better. There's not a lot Ryouta can do, other than show his support.]

How about outside the mission, then? I mean, still probably can't do much other than cheer for you, but.... [💡] Oh! How about we get ice cream? When this is all done, I mean.

Mm, mine too honestly. He's a strong and reliable partner.

[Not just in magic but in companionship. Jun truly valued his pact with Mikleo. It had started as a practical arrangement, but it's grown to something previous to Jun.

And oh- that catches his attention]

Ice cream? [he smiles] Haha, I love that idea. Do you mean as a date, or can I invite Mikleo too?

[Ah, damn. Ryouta was hoping this could be a date, but that "can I bring Mikleo" bit puts the full breaks on that idea. Oh, well, he'll just have to try again later!]

Sure, you can bring Mikleo along if you want! It'll be on me.

[It'll be a tiny hit to his savings, but Jun's worth it and he can always pick up another shift at the restaurant to make up for it.]

[Sorry Ryouta. As much as he wants to go on a date...he knows Mikleo really loves ice cream. And after all this, the seraph deserves a treat.]

[He's smiling brightly. Already, he feels his spirits have been lightened. He'll reach over to take both of Ryouta's hands into his own.]
