WHO: Katsuki Bakugou, Luz Noceda, Yoosung Kim
WHERE: Around Kaisou
WHEN: September
WHAT: Quest Stuff
WARNINGS: Katsuki's foul mouth as usual.
(Don't) Try This Crazy New Tiktok Trend (Locked to Yoosung):
[There were plenty of first date options to choose from. Dinner. A movie. Theme parks. Escape rooms. Hiking. Katsuki, however, had decided that a good first date plan was signing up for a quest together.
Finding and destroying some wonky love potions definitely sounded doable for them!
They were sneaking around the warehouse district now and had already had a couple close calls. But now Katsuki is almost certain they're about to be caught, backed into a corner with nowhere to run. And a guard coming closer and closer. They call out and Katsuki starts readying himself for a fight...]
Li'l Pet Shop of Horrors (Locked to Luz):
[When Katsuki found that he would be doing this quest with Luz, it seemed like a good opportunity to maybe discuss the whole... yelling thing from last month. But he figured the quest should come first.
Unfortunately shit hit the fan from the moment they walked through the door. From failing to intimidate a criminal to the animals going nuts. Katsuki was ready to just fight the responsible party when the 'evidence' was found.
A little chaos and confusion and some magic shenanigans later and Katsuki and Luz were now on the run down the street as a pair of cute, fuzzy animals. Katsuki wasn't very pleased to be a fluffy orange cat but at least they could still communicate with each other even if no ome else could understand them?]
Quick! Up this way! There's an open window!

Quick! Up this way! There's an open window!

He nods as Katsuki starts looking at the other side of the aisle, turning to check his own as they walk down it.]
Maybe I'll have to tell you to turn around and not look at me whenever we argue, then...
[He's still speaking in a sort of whisper, a little nervous that a guard might catch them, though they seem to be remaining on the outside so far.]
no subject
[He steadily checks boxes. Opening, looking, closing.]
There's lots of toys in here. Hope we're in the right place...
no subject
[He teases gently before he hums in thought, checking his own boxes.]
Oh! Molly Pockets! My sister used to have a bunch of these... I didn't know they still made them.
[...he may get a little distracted by the toys, honestly.]
no subject
[Teasing, which is also flirting now. Is now the time? Maybe not but also... yes absolutely? He's delighting in being able to flirt with Yoosung.]
This one is full of plastic army men...
no subject
Hey! Just because I like your arms doesn't mean it's always gonna distract me, ya know!
[He is maybe being a little too loud now, which he quickly realizes and lowers his voice again.]
Oh, maybe you should tell the army men there's Molly Pockets over here, they might lead us straight to the love potion.
[He giggles then, putting the box back to look through another.]
no subject
[He throws one of the little army men at Yoosung. He's the most mature.]
no subject
[He huffs and picks up the little army man, taking it and stuffing it in his pocket without really thinking about it.]
I'm serious, okay? Teasing is fine but throwing is just mean!
no subject
...Yeah. Okay. Won't throw anything.
[He gets a little quiet after that for a bit as they search. Mostly because he's thinking it over. He'd assumed since it was tiny it was okay but maybe it's more the action itself than the item?
Yeah. That makes sense.
They're three rows in when he speaks again.]
There's plush bears in this one.
no subject
Anyway, he did remember that Katsuki said he liked that Yoosung stood up for himself when he didn't like something, and while he does like the majority of Katsuki's teasing, having a hard (if tiny) object thrown at him was too much for him.
He's not mad at him, though. Not when he clearly understands and agrees not to do it again. Yoosung is hardly the type to hold a grudge over something as small as that, so he doesn't find the small silence that follows to be unbearable or even meaningful.]
Ooh, are they cute? Ah! I might have something here...
[The box he just opened seems to have small containers of liquid inside, and he takes one out to examine the container.]
no subject
He yanks one of the bears out of the box.]
Yeah, actually. It's pretty cute.
[He walks over, passing Yoosung the bear as he has a look at the bottles.]
Heh. Bingo. Step back. I can burn 'em. Just... give me plenty of space.
[This will be his first time trying out his fire since he started sweating nitroglycerin. And he doesn't know how that's going to go...]
no subject
Okay, just... Be careful? And um... Maybe have those ice walls of yours ready in case you need to put out the fire?
[He'll start walking backwards down the aisle to put space between them while keeping Katsuki in sight, hugging the bear to his chest, clearly worried.]
no subject
Right.
[He starts with the ice wall, aiming to attach it to the top of the shelf so it'll jut out overhead. Just in case.
Here goes nothing. He conjures a flame against the side of one box. And it sparks bigger than he's trying to spark it, his sweat acting like an accelerant.
It bursts back across his hand and up his arm partially because it has nowhere else to go. He yelps in surprise as the boxes start going up quickly. And he stumbles back, shaking his arm and in his panic accidentally sets off more sparks, lighting up the plush bears behind him. Making them go up too.
In the few moments it takes for this to happen the ice has started melting. So the potion fire doesn't spread any further on that side. But the bears are going up spectacularly. That's when Katsuki realizes... he's not on fire or even feeling any pain?
He might need Yoosung to point out the bears going up in flames because he hasn't realized he set them ablaze. He's staring at his hands in surprise.]
What the hell?
no subject
Katsuki! Katsuki!!
[He reaches him just in time to also realize that... Katsuki actually isn't on fire? But then he notices--]
Ah, Katsuki, the bears!!
[He points with a trembling hand, clutching the green plush bear with a four leaf clover on its belly to his chest.]
no subject
[Yoosung getting closer snaps him out of it and he hastily throws out a hand to make an ice wall over the burning bears, trying to at least stop the spread. His hands are shaking. But once the ice wall is up, he's grabbing Yoosung by the arm and pulling him out of the aisle, away from the fire.]
no subject
[He stumbles slightly once when Katsuki pulls him, but gets his feet under him well enough to keep moving.
Once they've found safety, he'll hug Katsuki, bear held by its arm in one of Yoosung's hands.]
God, that was too scary, I'm so glad you're okay!
no subject
No pain. No burns. He already knew his explosions didn't hurt, even going off close to his hands. Maybe the same goes for his fire?
But then he'd definitely burned himself before, back when his fire was weaker. Another new development? A fluke? He wants to test it. But he doesn't want to freak Yoosung out. So after a moment he sighs and pulls back to show Yoosung his arm.]
I'm good. Guess it didn't catch at all? See? It doesn't even hurt.
[He glances back into the aisle. The fire is out. But it looks like the bears are toast... all except the one in Yoosung's hand.]
We should go. Before someone smells the smoke.
no subject
That's amazing... Is that new? Not being hurt by fire?
[He hugs the bear to his chest again and looks back at the aisle as Katsuki does, and then he's frowning again.]
Oh... The poor bears! ...I guess this one here is really lucky.
[He looks down at the bear in his arms.]
But all of his friends are gone...
no subject
[He's not going to admit he's been worried about using his fire because of the whole nitroglycerin sweat thing. Now he knows that it can definitely give him some headaches if he isn't careful. But at least it can't hurt him... well. He'll have to double check that later. Carefully. For now he grabs Yoosung's hand and heads for the door. Glancing at the bear he makes a decision.]
...got time to stop somewhere on the way back?
no subject
As it is, he's distracted while they leave by Katsuki's question to him. (And yes, he's carrying his new bear right out of here. Maybe it'll be less lonely at Yoosung's place with his other stuffed animals?)]
Ah? I guess? I'd planned to spend the day with you so I don't have anywhere to be. Why? Where are we going?
no subject
For now it's time to sneak back out of the warehouse district. But at that question Katsuki gives him a blank look. Giving nothing away.]
It's a surprise. You trust me, right?
no subject
Yeah, of course! Ah... Can we hold hands? I never really asked you how you feel about like... Showing affection in public, eheheh...
no subject
Hand holding is fine.
[He starts leading the way once they're holding hands. Mulling it over. How he feels about pda...]
I think a lot of it, I'm fine with. Not really a fan of kissing in public though.
no subject
He wasn't exactly planning on kissing Katsuki in public or anywhere else since they hadn't even had their first kiss yet, and it felt like something he should let Katsuki control the speed on. He's still a little afraid of being too much or too fast.]
Um. Okay. I'll just... Let you be in charge of that sort of thing then!
[He hugs the bear to him with his free arm, looking away bashfully.]
no subject
You don't have to do that. You can hold my hand or hug me or whatever. I don't care who sees that we're together. I'm not ashamed.
no subject
[Wh.. why is that embarrassing to even say out loud...]
Ehehe, just forget about it, um, I guess I'm gonna be keeping this bear now, huh? Should I give him a name~?
