Kaicon, Kaisou’s anime convention, is bustling with activity when it opens to the public on Friday. People are in line to pick up their badges, attend panels, cosplay, spend some money, and generally have a good time. Why not join them? It's an all weekend long event, celebrating everything anime!

[Panels]

Panels are discussions or presentations about anime, manga, video games, or other series run by con-goers for fellow attendees, and Kaicon has plenty of them! Some of them are informative, such as teaching you the history of manga. There’s panels discussing your favorite anime, there’s interactive panels such as doing your own voice acting, or anime-themed game shows. There’s even funny or entertaining panels, such as panels that show funny clips from different bad anime!

Some panels are 18+ and con staff will check if you’re sneaking into an R-rated panel!

[Cosplay]

Something becomes apparent as you explore the convention. Mainly, a lot of these con attendees are dressed up in costumes! Some you may recognize from different anime, but people are dressed up in costumes from any kind of series, show, video game, or movie! If you look at your convention guide or just hang around the right place, you might find organized group cosplays! Either join in the fun with your own costume or remember to take some pictures!

[Dealer’s Room/Artist Alley]

For those of you with money to burn, there’s the Dealer’s Room that’s connected to the Artist Alley. Here, you’ll find all kinds of anime and manga merchandise. Plushies? Check. Figurines? Check. Video games and trading cards? Also check.

If you can’t find a plushie or figure you like, then head over to Artist Alley! These booths are run by artist con-goers, and they’ll have everything from posters, pins, buttons, and handmade plushies. You may find series or media you wouldn’t normally find in the Dealer’s Room.

Just watch those wallets!

[Video Games]

And of course, there’s a video game room. You’ll find games typically found in an arcade, mostly two player games for you and a friend to enjoy. And if you’re really feeling it, there’s plenty of rhythm and dancing games!

[Dance]

On Saturday night, Kaicon will host a dance that will go late into the night! Get your party on, whether in cosplay or normal clothes. Alcohol isn’t allowed in the dance, but maybe you can slide something in if you're sneaky and determined enough.

By Sunday evening, the con winds down and comes to an end. There will be a closing ceremonies show for people to attend, as well as people saying their goodbyes and doing their final cosplays and panels.

Cosplay:
Danny had been looking forward to this for weeks. It had taken him a lot of effort to put his Space Quest costume together, but it had been totally worth it. He clips the pilot badge onto the front of his jumpsuit and heads out into the con to find out whether there any other scifi cosplayers out there. He was determined to get some cool group photos this year.

Video Games:
"Alright!" Danny throws himself into a chair in front of a two player game. "Come on! I've been wanting to play this one for ages."

This Could Be A Problem:
There was a lot to see, and Danny had been making a good effort at seeing it all. But with all the excitement, maybe it wasn't surprising that he wouldn't notice something going a little bit wrong.

It started small, almost unnoticeable unless you were watching for it. A flicker out of visibility. Feet sinking just slightest bit into the floor. Fumbling his wallet while buying a snack at a vendor, almost like it had slipped through his fingers.

A Little Help Please:
At some point even Danny had to admit that something had gone terribly, terribly wrong. For him, that comes halfway down a hallway when his intangibility fully activates. To him, it as if the solidity of the ground under his feet suddenly vanishes, and he falls right through it and halfway through the next floor below.

Danny's first reaction is shock. Followed by panic as he realizes that he is still stuck halfway through the floor and he has no idea how this even happened, let alone how to get out. He draws in a quick panicked breath as he clings onto the part of the floor that seemed to have stayed solid.

Trying to Get Home:
After the floor incident Danny had quickly decided that he needed to get out of here. But easily said than done. After an incident where his entire arm had disappeared and he'd quickly had to hide behind a vending machine quietly panicking until it came back, he'd decided to take the back way out. But even here there were way too many people for his comfort.

He gingerly takes a few steps, half expecting the floor to suddenly lose its tangibility again. He still isn't expecting his toes to suddenly slide into the floor. He lets out a startled yelp as he fall plants his face onto the floor.

Yoosung, cosplaying on this day as a magical elf from the hit High Fantasy series "Lady of the Bracelets," also happens to be standing looking at merch at one of the vendors when Danny fumbles his wallet and it lands directly in the plastic goodie bag of already-purchased merch that Yoosung has hanging off his arm. Thankfully he hears it when it falls in and quickly looks inside.

"Eh? Did someone drop this just now?" He fishes it out of the bag to hold up and show off to those around, curious.

A Little Help Please

Conventions might be new to Fern, but he's pretty sure finding someone stuck halfway through the floor isn't a normal thing for them. He's wandering by when he sees the scene, and with a confused expression wanders over.

He isn't too concerned right off the bat. Weird stuff happens in Ooo all the time and no one is dying so it's probably fine, though as he approaches he's a little more cautious with his steps, poking at the ground with clawed toes. "Dude, what the heck? Do you need help?"

Video Games

Meanwhile, Ken didn't know how or why he wanted to come to an anime convention. As much as he wanted to enjoy himself, another part of him was worried about coming across as too childish for attending such an event. Regardless, it didn't stop him from looking at Danny before giving a small smirk.

"Glad to see you're onboard. How about it? You think you can beat me?"

Not that Ken was great at video games but he could use a distraction.

Trying to get home

"Danny?"

And out plods a girl in an otter outfit. Luz has been having a blast at this event, but that certainly didn't mean it escaped her notice that some of her friends were very much having the opposite of a good time, and Danny's was very noticeable.

"You've been kinda...loosing limbs this whole time! Did you get a power too? I've noticed that this has gone around."

A Little Help Please

While Moana had been having a bit of trouble keeping some things of her own hidden while attending the convention, she was still on the lookout for her friend since they had known the other was planning on coming.

As she heads to the front of the convention building, she just happens to catch sight of him, but while she starts to wave she soon notices that something is wrong.

"Danny!" She quickly rushes over to him, her eyes wide when she realizes that half of him has disappeared into the ground. "What happened?"

Trying to get home

Varian definitely isn't having an easy time of it either. He's managed to get the flower off his hand, but every now and again a can or a piece of light metal will come flying toward him if he gestures too enthusiastically.

But at least he isn't sinking into the floor.

He moves over quickly to Danny, moving to put a hand on his arm- not sure if it'll pass through or not honestly.

"So, I'm gonna make an executive decision and call this whole thing cursed. You okay?"

A little help please

[Demyx stares as he watches someone sink down in front of him, legs going through the floor. He makes a grab for Danny's arms.]

D-d-did you just... t-through the f-floor????

[Catalina doesn't want to be here.

This isn't her thing. She isn't into anime. But one of her moms? Her nerdy mom? SUPER IS. And her parents think this will be a good, fun bonding experience. So here she is, taping away at her phone as she moves through the crowds of people who are dressed up and having fun.

She's content enough to just do that, but a few cosplays catches her eye. Mostly the Didney ones, stuff she recognizes. Some of them are really good. Especially that Belas from the movie Chilled? She can't help it. She snaps a picture.

Don't tell her moms she might be actually having fun.]

[A Big Woofing Problem]

[So she's kind of getting into the con, exploring, taking pictures... it's starting to get late, and it's becoming clear that she's going to be stuck here until her moms are good and ready to go home.

But she feels a bit funny, and she's not sure why. As she checks out a cosplay group photoshoot, something feels... wrong. Suddenly fur bursts all over her body, she grows wolf ears and a tail, her teeth sharpen - in seconds, she's completely transformed. Some people scream, other people think it's just another cool cosplay effect.

But Catalina? Completely freaking out as she tries to figure out what just happened to her. She has fur now?! She pats herself all over, and it's just - she has a tail!!

She dives through the crowds on all fours, desperate to escape and find someplace to hide.

[A little before his own little breakdown about...suddenly getting powers, Varian is wandering the halls when he hears a commotion. Curiosity getting the better of him, he heads towards the ruckus and sees a familiar, brown, furry form. She's...smaller than he's used to back home, but the rest is the same. He raises his hands to try and clam her, to show her he means no harm.

He'd promised himself he'd keep his distance. Let her come to him and not freak her out any more than he already has. But this is an emergency. He can't just let her suffer like this. ]

Catalina? Hey. It's-it's me. Just take a couple deep breaths, it's gonna be okay.

Mirabel Madrigal | Encanto | ota

[Cosplay]

[Mirabel did her own cosplay for this convention, and she's dressed as Sailor South America from the series Sailor Earth! Her work seems to have paid off, because people keep stopping her to take pictures of her costume.

At some point though, the ribbon on her dress starts to unravel.]

[Mirabel's off in a corner flipping through the booklet that lists the selection of panels.]

"Anime Hell"? That one doesn't sound very pleasant... it's a comedy panel?

[Dealer's Room]

[Mirabel doesn't have very much money to spend at a big convention, but she can go window shopping! She picks up a plush from the video game "Pocket Friend", a little mouse-like creature.]

Oh this one's pretty cute, isn't it?

[After everything that went down in May, Katsuki desperately needed something to get his spirits back up. A con is perfect for that. It's not his first time at one. But it is his first time cosplaying. He's chosen Chisuke from Vampire Hunt. And while it was a little awkward at first, he's kind of having fun with it? It's kind of nice to pretend to be someone else for the day. He's even striking poses for pictures, not anticipating seeing anyone he knows.]


[Artist Alley]

[You'll definitely spot him in the artist alley. He has a system of making a trip around it, picking up cards from the ones he's interested in and then settling in to make notes on his phone while he's stopped for lunch. So he can decide what he's going back for.

You might catch him considering pride merch. Mostly keychains. He's looking for something a little more subtle...]


[Dance--closed to Izuku]

[Dances aren't really his thing. But... he goes. Because Izuku wants to do it. And for once, Katsuki doesn't even fight it. Doesn't put up a fuss or complain. Just... yeah, alright. And he goes. Because he just wants to let go this whole weekend honestly.]

[ Luisa still isn't entirely sure how she feels about this whole "cosplay" thing. It looks really cool when other people are doing it, and she'd be the first one to say that her costume itself looks great. But she still feels awkward about actually wearing it, and gets flustered every time someone asks to take her picture.

She's taking a break for a moment when she spots someone familiar, and heads over just to make sure it's actually who she thinks it is. ]

Tsunayoshi Sawada | Katekyou Hitman Reborn

[Dealer's Hall]

[Tsuna is traversing the Dealer's Hall with a smile on his face. He's survived the school year and has a bit of reprieve before summer school starts and it's back to the grind for him. And he's been saving up for this event. Some new manga, maybe a new video game or DVD set. He's earned it, he thinks. Despite some of his grades.

He finishes examining a display, nodding but not seeing what he wants. Still, there's stuff to take note of. Unfortunately, the stall is getting a little crowded, and Tsuna has to turn quickly to try and escape. Maybe too quickly, as he stumbles briefly, wobbles and puts his hand out. Right into a pile of less than stable manga.

And with a loud crash, it all comes down! Leaving Tsuna in a heap, surrounded by manga.]

I'm sorry, I'm sorry!

[He'll scramble up and try to start cleaning, but his panic might just be causing more of a mess.]

[Video Game Room]

[After his mess in the Dealer's hall, Tsuna quickly retreats. He obviously can't be trusted in there right now and he doesn't want to deal with the embarrassment. The video game room should be safe.

He just needs to sit and play.

He finds an empty machine off in the corner with a fighting game up on the screen. He starts up a match, just against the computer though there is an empty chair.

But even in the quiet room he's sure he can still hear the whispers and winces.]

Is that the guy?

The one from the dealer's hall?

[Tsuna sinks lower in his chair.]

[A Quiet Hallway]

[Tsuna isn't really heading anywhere in particular. Just a quiet hallway where he can get away from the crowds and bask in his loot. Despite all the chaos he caused, he was able to find what he was looking for.

And in a hallway like this, there's not much damage he can do.

And feeling rather confident in that, he pulls out some pocky and a volume of manga and sighs in relief.

And ignoring that feeling of dread in the back of his mind.]

[ Moana is looking at a different stall across the way when the sound of a crash catches her attention, and she turns to see what's going on as some people quickly leave to avoid being associated with the commotion. Seeing someone sprawled on the floor, surrounded by a mess of manga volumes, it's easy to figure out what happened.

A few more people drift away, but some simply stand around to stare, and Moana has to squeeze through the crowd before she can reach where Tsuna is, crouching down to help. ]

Hey, it's okay. We'll get all this cleaned up in no time.

Cosplay

[ Moana has been looking forward to this year's Kaicon, after her first time going last year. Getting to meet people into the same kinds of media, seeing them dressed up as their favorite characters, learning or discovering new things to binge watch or read, looking for nerdy memorabilia, was all really exciting.

In fact, it had actually been at Kaicon last year that she'd discovered the show Emissary: The Last Windrider, even though it was a bit of an older show at this point. And naturally she had to dress up as Sanye the Wavewalker, which coincidentally is even more fitting given some...recent developments. But instead of wearing Sanye's signature necklace, Moana decided to instead wear the mysterious locket that she had received a couple days ago.

It was probably a little risky to still hold onto this locket that seems to have come from nowhere...but she can't bring herself to get rid of it. And even if it's not quite the same as Sanye's necklace, it matches her costume well enough anyway. ]

Dealer’s Room

[ What's a convention if you don't take some time to walk the floor and see what's around? There were so many booths selling fun merchandise, and Moana had a little more money to burn thanks to working a few extra hours at the dance studio.

Moana might also be causing just a bit of mischief too though, as she explores the exhibition hall. Occasionally she'll pass by a display and, after making sure it wouldn't cause too much trouble, she might stick a pair of googly eyes somewhere that they would be especially funny.

Maybe you catch sight of her doing this, and try to get her to stop? Or help her find a place to stick a pair of eyes somewhere. ]

Wildcard (around the convention)

[ The thing with being at a convention is that it's hard not to get excited. Which normally wouldn't be a problem...except every so often while Moana is just enjoying herself, she visibly stiffens and takes in a sharp breath.

And those who catch sight of her might notice a little something by her feet, peeking out just under the skirt of her costume. It kind of looks like...a lizard tail?

She panics, and backs up until her back is to a wall, looking around nervously. ] Uhhhh I gotta go... [ And she beelines for the nearest bathroom, and whatever it is under her skirt is definitely moving. ]

Dealer's room

[Fern is around, checking out the booths and enjoying his first convention when he spots Moana. Even he can tell she's looking a little suspicious, so he pauses and watches her for a few seconds.

And then nearly bursts out laughing when a cardboard standee of some costumed superhero winds up with some very undignified googly eyes. He wanders on over, grinning.]

Dang, I think he looks way better.

Cosplay

[ With things still feeling a little uneasy as they have been lately, it had been a little difficult to really think about have a good time. Luisa had considered not attending anymore, but she didn't have the heart to do that to Mirabel. Her younger sister had been really looking forward to the event, and had even helped her make a costume for the event. Plus, it probably would've been a good distraction from some of the less-than-good things anyway.

Luisa did feel a little unsure about her costume, though. Not that it looked bad or anything - Mirabel made it, so of course it looked amazing. But it was a bit...less clothing than she's used to wearing. And truthfully she doesn't actually know much about the character she's dressed up as.

She thinks she's dressed up as Amazing Woman, or something like that? But that's all she really knows about her. ]

Dealer’s Room

[ To be honest, Luisa hadn't really known what to expect from this "convention". But the lines of booths and the crowd of people wasn't entirely what she had imagined.

It isn't necessarily bad though. There does seem to be a lot of interesting stuff to buy (there are so many cute stuffed animals everywhere, and they are all so cute), as well as books and shows and movies that sounded fun. She only knows a little about anime and manga after learning about Isekai, but she also wants to explore what other kinds of genres there are.

Unsurprisingly, it's some of the magical girl anime that really catch her eye. ]

Video Games

[ She'd found the video game lounge pretty much by accident, but she couldn't help being a bit curious. She had gotten some kind of video game system recently, in one of those mysterious packages that they receive sometimes, but she didn't know what kind of games she would even get for it. So she hangs around the lounge, looking at the different games to try and get some kind of idea of what she could play.

The rhythm and dancing games also seem like a lot of fun, though. ]

[Mirabel comes bouncing up behind her, after losing her in the crowd for a moment while doing a bit of shopping. She looks at the magical girl anime that Luisa is looking at.]

That looks like a cute show! Are you going to check it out?

Varian | Tangled | OTA

[Artist alley/general con spaces]

[Varian's only really here because Fern dragged him along. He's got much more important things to get done than wander around staring at...well, whatever this is. Fictional stories, he guesses, he's not quite clear. Maybe if there was a section for Flynn Rider, things would be different, but alas!

He's still getting used to his tail, and is kind of glad the vast majority of the populace can't see it. At least that means he gets marginally fewer stares than he was expecting. He does wonder what that means for people who can see it. It has to be only for people with the app, but how does that work? He has so many questions about this place. He picks up a random plushie, squinting at it. ]

I don't know what this is. Is it some kind of cat? [Congrats, if you're next to him, he'll be waving the plushie in your face.] Is it a cat?

[Growing pains]

[At some point in the day, Varian was reaching to look at something when a small rock suddenly appears in his hand. At first, he looks up, frowning in confusion. Did it drop from somewhere? Maybe it dropped from somewhere? When he can't determine where the rock came from, he holds it up to his face, trying to study it, but it's just a rock. As he's concenrtating at it, a small daisy blooms in his palm next to it. That DEFINITELY didn't drop and Varian lets out a frightened yelp, dropping the rock. The flower stays firmly in his palm. Panic starts to set in.]

Getitoffgetitoffgetitoff!!!!!

[As his hand waving gets more frantic, a can of coke slides off one of the dealer's tables and starts circling about him, moving with the hand motions. At this point, Varian is well and truly freaked out. ]

What the HECK is HAPPENING?!!!

Growing pains

[Fern has no idea what a convention is, but it sounded fun and that's enough for him. It's pretty cool so far, he likes getting to see all the people dressed up - a lot of it would pass for normal back in Ooo, so it feels like he's back at home - and all the artwork reminds him of his favourite comics. Good day? Good day.

He's even dragged Varian along so he isn't alone, which makes it even better! He's found that hanging out with Varian has always been fun so far, even when it comes to boring nerdy stuff like science, so all in all it's a great time.

Less great is coming back from checking out a booth further down with replica weapons to find his friend freaking the heck out. And... is that a can of soda circling him? He has no idea idea what's going on, but Varian is starting to draw a crowd so he steps in, trying to snatch the can.]

Dude, what the heck? You okay??

The Witch/Katida Rhydderch | Dragon Marked For Death | OTA

"Cosplay":
[Kat's thinking that she could make the dragon head on her head—or rather, the hat that most everyone else saw it as—blend in had quickly proven to be right on the mark; dressing up in a witch costume that (supposedly, according to her thankfully-still-normal family) matched the hat and made it stand out far less than if she'd just come here in casual wear.

However, where she'd intended to not turn heads, she found that she was still drawing extra attention that she didn't really want. Particularly, she's been repeatedly asked what character she's dressed up as, or told that her outfit of choice makes her look a lot like one character or another. In nearly every case, the person speaking to her is disappointed to learn that she didn't have a particular character that she'd been aiming for, but when it's explained that she just wanted something that matched her hat, most accept that as a pretty solid reason.

It's pretty exhausting having to answer the same questions every few minutes, though, and she's not sure how long she wants to put up with it.]

[After a little while, she makes her way to Artist Alley, mostly just to look at stuff and make herself quietly jealous over the skills (and levels of skill) on display.

She isn't planning to buy anything, but who knows, plans could change.]

Gaming:
[She does wander over to the game room, eventually, and stops in front of one of the older arcade games. She's surprised to find that working cabinets for Blario Bros. still existed; wasn't that game like eight million years old? (Actually almost 40, but that's still freaking ancient as far as the gaming industry's concerned.)

So you know what? Sure, what the hell, put a quarter in and get started.]

I. Cosplay
[Jun's been waiting all year for the convention. He didn't exactly have the financial means to travel to different conventions, so he had to make sure this one counted. He's showing up in a full Magical Alisa cosplay, and honestly it looks pretty convincing. He's even got a blond wig and colored contacts to complete the look! It'd be easy enough to mistake him for someone else.

And if he spots someone he knows, especially if they're in cosplay? He's going to clap his hands together and approach. He even does it with a bit more energy than his usual softspoken tone- it's important to be in character!!]

II. Artist Alley
[Of course Jun would be all over Artist Alley. He's still in his cosplay, but he's roaming around looking at all the merch. He's been saving for this, but it's not like he's rich, so this is taking some thought....]

There's so many nice things to choose from...

III. Video Games
[Jun is not good at video games. He tries his best, but he is not at all good at video games. If you're playing against him? Prepare to win very quickly. He'll pout a little when it happens]

COSPLAY

[Katsuki has been having so much fun letting go a bit at the con. He's glad he decided to cosplay. It felt silly at first. But he's found that it's made it easier to relax. He's been really getting into it as the day goes on. The vampire character he's cosplaying as is the type to really ham it up and Katsuki's been leaning into that more and more as he gets more comfortable.

So much so that he reacts to the compliment by flashing a grin to show off the fake vampire fangs he painstakingly molded with instamorph and gives an over-the-top flourishing bow, mimicking how the character reacts to meeting new people.

You think Luz Noceda, the girl with anime and fun pumping in her blood, is going to walk around in just one costume for the weekend? How wrong you are!

Come friday and you'll see the girl in a outfit, cape and all! She swooshes, she saves the day and comes with a rose! She is the ultimate darling knight!

But Saturday Luz is not done dabbling in gender/what gender cosplay! Now she's a swords woman from one of her favorite anime full of double meanings and lots of orientation second guessing! She's got the sword, the dapper hat and the fun long wig to boot! Also, the short are looking fly!

Sunday is the cooling off day, and for Luz, this means going for an oldie but a goodie: her favorite cuddliest cosplay, where she is eagerly holding hands and taking pictures with people!

[She hasn't been in Kaisou long enough, but she has at least earned a little money with Eda, so plushies? Art? Keychain? CHECK. Luz is looking at everything with utmost scrutiny, happily talking about her favorite series' and getting art tips from those she really admire! When she isn't doing that, expect to be facing her down in the video game room].

She's been in the Boiling Isles for a while, but that was certainly no excuse for Luz to be a slouch when it came to dance! Saturday Luz is here to sweep you off your feet in her Utena inspired cosplay, whether you are girl, boy or neither!

[ Alas, Moana had only been able to make the one costume, but it had turned out really well so she still plans on wearing it proudly for all three days. But as she runs into Luz on the second day of the convention, she can't help feeling rather impressed. ]

I. COSPLAY

[ Izuku will be dressed up as Mahou from Vampire Hunt, although underneath his wig people may notice he now has green hair. Nice! Izuku will be in costume for the entire con, so feel free to catch him at any prompt in costume. He will also be open to having his picture taken, and if he recognizes anyone in costume...! ]

Hey! Um, do you mind if we get a picture together? I love your costume. [ ...he will also be asking people for pictures! He gets really excited and seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of way too many series somehow. Go figure! ]

II. PANELS

[ Izuku goes to so many panels. He even takes notes? He laughs at the funny ones, but he also shyly raises his hand in a few question and answers ones. He gravitates to the lore-related or story-discussing panels, however! If you're seating, or coming in: ]

We can sit together if you want! [ Have a cheery fake-witch smiling at you. ]

III. DEALER'S ALLEY

[ Oh, his wallet is in such danger. Currently he's looking at a huge plush winged cat, a life-size version of Mahou's in-canon familiar...It's high quality and rare so it's pretty expensive. He's chewing his thumb, muttering up a storm. It seems to be a pros and cons list about buying it? ]

IV. GAMES

[ As is only appropriate for a nerd, Izuku is actually pretty decent at games- he seems to specialize in fighting ones though. If asked to do a dance game... ]

Oh, I'm pretty bad at those...maybe Blario Kart instead?

V. DANCE

[ He's not in costume for this one. Just jeans and a nice shirt and blazer, although he looks a little bit awkward about it. Still, he's happy enough to smile at anyone nearby. ]

[ Honestly, Luisa is still rather new to...pretty much the entire concept of video games. She's learning a bit more and more, but she's also finding that there are so many different kinds and genres, and she's not entirely sure where to start with some of them.

So the suggestion does have her pause, a little uncertain. ]

[On the Con Floor]

[Big events aren't usually Souta's scene. Yet he had heard that some folks on the app would be around, and he wants to be supportive. Souta arrives in casual clothes, not really intending to stay the entire weekend. Though who knows what others might drag him into!]

[Standing off to the side, he tries to get his bearings from the various booklets and maps the staff provided him. He glances up just long enough to catch sight of some impressive cosplay. He smiles, when suddenly...]

[He's looking at a girl with elf ears and an elaborate outfit, asleep on the ground near a bunch of rose bushes. Next to him, a girl with the same uniform as him says with a worried yet familiar voice:

"When we get involved with these cosplay girls nothing good comes of it!"

"But if she keeps sleeping there, the garden keepers will get angry," he replies, stepping forward to check on the sleeper.]

[Souta blinks off the distinctive look of someone lost in a memory. Where on earth did that mean? And then realizes he was unintentionally staring far too long at the poor cosplayer. He laughs nervously.]

Excuse me. You're costume looks great!

[Dealers Room]

[Shopping had been the main draw of the convention for Souta. Sure he could get books elsewhere, but there was a chance that the vendors here might have some that were harder to find. And who doesn't love discovering a new series?]

[Souta can be found in the corner of one booth, browsing the manga. He's trying not to actually read through them, only skip to see if they're his style. But the draw is very strong.]

[If you approach or try to pass him, he'll finally look up. He automatically starts moving to one side.]

Pardon me, I'll get out of the way.

Eda Clawthorne | The Owl House

Dealer's Room

[ SURPRISE! The Owlery has a booth here. Eda's even managed to find some pop culture themed rarities, like ancient figurines that are not all in mint condition, but hey, that's the charm, right? Also her tarot decks, crystals, scented candles and all that. Small animal skulls and a creepy doll or two.

She's also brought her sewing machine for any cosplayers who want to make last-minute adjustments or had a mishap that needs fixing.

And Eda herself is an attraction today, because she's participating in the fun by cosplaying as a Super Saiyan. She's in a homemade costume and sprayed her hair with golden spray dye. She'll be hanging out at her table, sometimes yelling at passersby to come check out the wares, sometimes engrossed in a game of Tetris. ]

Dance

[ Eda's mainly here to chaperone, since Luz is out and about. She'll be hanging back by the sidelines and vaguely keeping an eye on things. She's not watching Luz's every step, just looking for her occasionally and otherwise being there in case Luz needs anything. Oh, and she's still in her costume because why not. ]

WILDCARD - Void Dennys

[Elliot didn't go to the convention. He's not that into anime like Rean is, and he didn't want to risk the awkward experience of running into a student there. So instead he waits until he gets a message from Eda that she's all done, and makes arrangements to meet up at the Void Dennys.

He manages to get there first, and grabs a table. While he waits, he pulls out his music composition notebook and works more on a musical piece he's been fiddling with. Nerd. ]

[ The whole culture surrounding anime and manga here on Earth is rather alien to Azel, but he's never been one to shy away from harmless new experiences. Plus, Ana had offered to make him a costume so he could try out cosplay, and he had no reasons to refuse. Since he received a sparkly sword last month, he figured that he could try out something elegant. After arriving at the convention center, he gets changed in one of the restrooms and goes out to meet Ana. ]
