Player Plot: Kaicon
WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Civic Center
WHEN: June 3rd to the 5th
WHAT: Anime convention!!
WARNINGS: None

Kaicon, Kaisou’s anime convention, is bustling with activity when it opens to the public on Friday. People are in line to pick up their badges, attend panels, cosplay, spend some money, and generally have a good time. Why not join them? It's an all weekend long event, celebrating everything anime!
———
[Panels]
Panels are discussions or presentations about anime, manga, video games, or other series run by con-goers for fellow attendees, and Kaicon has plenty of them! Some of them are informative, such as teaching you the history of manga. There’s panels discussing your favorite anime, there’s interactive panels such as doing your own voice acting, or anime-themed game shows. There’s even funny or entertaining panels, such as panels that show funny clips from different bad anime!
Some panels are 18+ and con staff will check if you’re sneaking into an R-rated panel!
[Cosplay]
Something becomes apparent as you explore the convention. Mainly, a lot of these con attendees are dressed up in costumes! Some you may recognize from different anime, but people are dressed up in costumes from any kind of series, show, video game, or movie! If you look at your convention guide or just hang around the right place, you might find organized group cosplays! Either join in the fun with your own costume or remember to take some pictures!
[Dealer’s Room/Artist Alley]
For those of you with money to burn, there’s the Dealer’s Room that’s connected to the Artist Alley. Here, you’ll find all kinds of anime and manga merchandise. Plushies? Check. Figurines? Check. Video games and trading cards? Also check.
If you can’t find a plushie or figure you like, then head over to Artist Alley! These booths are run by artist con-goers, and they’ll have everything from posters, pins, buttons, and handmade plushies. You may find series or media you wouldn’t normally find in the Dealer’s Room.
Just watch those wallets!
And of course, there’s a video game room. You’ll find games typically found in an arcade, mostly two player games for you and a friend to enjoy. And if you’re really feeling it, there’s plenty of rhythm and dancing games!
[Dance]
On Saturday night, Kaicon will host a dance that will go late into the night! Get your party on, whether in cosplay or normal clothes. Alcohol isn’t allowed in the dance, but maybe you can slide something in if you're sneaky and determined enough.
———
By Sunday evening, the con winds down and comes to an end. There will be a closing ceremonies show for people to attend, as well as people saying their goodbyes and doing their final cosplays and panels.
Hope to see you next Kaicon!
(OOC: Looking for series to find at the con but struggling to come up with knock-off names for stuff? Mog has a list here!)

There's a whole spectrum. I didn't even know shit like this was a thing. And there's differences between romantic and sexual attraction? There's just... so much shit.
no subject
But, as to why Katsuki brought it up... ]
So you're thinking you're asexual?
no subject
[He's sifting through it. Trying to work out where he might fall.]
Don't think I'm against it?
no subject
I think generally if you like someone, you know.
no subject
Yeah? How about you? You ever liked someone?
no subject
[ A shy shrug. ]
no subject
You figured it out pretty easy then? That you liked 'em? It's been kind of confusing for me. Figuring out if I liked 'em as a friend or more? How did you know the difference?
no subject
[ It just...feels different. ]
no subject
So yeah. Probably did have romantic feelings for him. But definitely not sexual.
[It's got the gears turning in his head now.]
...so I guess that means romantically I'm gay but sexually I'm asexual?
no subject
[ Izuku is getting distinctly uncomfortable here, and he's not sure why. Likely just because it reminds him of how much time they lost as friends. ]
I don't know. You could try dating some people and see. Maybe sign up for an app.
no subject
Definitely not. I don't wanna waste my time dating a bunch of extras just for the sake of dating. Sounds like torture.
[They did lose a lot of time. But Katsuki has been trying to make up for that lost time since they reconnected. And in the end... it's Izuku he's hashing this out with.]
Most people use those apps for hookups anyway. Not dating. Can't force romantic feelings. Rather see if anyone here in Kaisou catches my attention.
no subject
[ He detours to a booth, browsing the merchandise. ]
no subject
He steps up beside Izuku.]
I mean... there's nothing wrong with using it for hookups if that's what you're into? Or dating just to have fun. Wasn't trying to insult the idea. Just not for me.
no subject
[ Hookups or dating to have fun. ]
I'm not insulted, I just don't have a lot to say about it...I'll tell you if I start dating someone.
no subject
Yeah... Same.
[He turns his attention to the booth. Looking over merchandise. He's not going to be buying anything else. He spent a good chunk of his budget on Izuku's birthday present. But he can look alongside Izuku.]
