Okay, I don't know how long Zodiac will- will keep this up for, so I'm making this as quick as I can and make sure to spread the word in case they take this down or-

[Or find other ways to keep him silent, to stop the message from getting through. He knew this would never go down well, he was dreading having to admit this and he'd honestly hoped he would have the time to talk to the people who cared about him in person- to soften the blow. But that might not work- not with how quickly the tide has turned.]

When I blew up mine and Fern's apartment in January, Zodiac asked that I work for them to pay for the damage I made. So they'd fix the place up again. I- honestly, I get working for them was a bad idea, but they wanted the remains of the peach and I wanted to find out what they were doing with it- and if I could find out how to stop them from using it. The best way of doing that was from the inside.

[He speaks from experience, unhappily, but from experience all the same. That's how he took over Corona in the end. Getting right to the heart and taking it down from the highest level- controlling the king and queen. He doesn't look proud about any of this, he hid things from people who care about him to try and stop his own mistakes making something worse happen. ]

So that's what I've been doing for the last couple of months. Paying attention to them and trying to find out what's- what's going on in there. Turns out the people in charge are demons- literally, and not the good kind. [Which, in hindsight, probably shouldn't be a shock to anyone given How Zodiac Are.] They wanted to use the peach to-to make an immortality drink. I managed to sabotage it to stop them making more peaches- because they wanted to sell them to whoever wanted them. I made sure that there's no way they'll be able to grow any more now, but I couldn't get to where they made the drink from the peaches they did get.

[Thanks, Moxxie. Varian sucks in a breath- he'd done what he could, but it wasn't enough. ]

They haven't drunk their immortality peach juice yet- they're still finishing it up from what I understand. But-but I can think we can all agree that immortal immoral demons in charge of a good portion of a city is a bad thing to have. We- we need to stop them before they do that.

[He hesitates- he'd be remiss if he didn't reveal something else he learned there. It might not matter to a lot of people here, he's seen real, justified anger towards all of Zodaic. He gets it, he's felt it too, but...]

They're not all our enemy. Zodiac. Honestly from what I've experienced most of the workers there are just average people trying to support their families without...without any real options to do that otherwise. The people are the top are the ones we gotta be worried about. That's...please, try to keep that in mind. Whatever's done.

[He takes in one last breath, readying himself for whatever comes from this. He's expecting people to be angry. He's expecting to lose friends, gain enemies. He accepts it tiredly for what it is. It won't be the first time.]

I'm sorry for hiding what I was doing. I didn't want to jeopardise the sabotage and I- I kinda hoped I could get this done without anyone getting hurt or dragged into this or- I'm just...sorry. I tried.

[This had hurt a lot. Danny couldn't deny it. But he also wasn't the type to hold onto things. (At least when it came to other people. Now when it came to holding onto his own worries or things he blamed himself for, that was a whole other issue.) But Varian had apologized and promised not to do it again. For Danny that was enough and he was ready to move on.]

Varian... [He shakes his head.]

The only thing I want from you now is to stay safe. Be careful. We can talk about the rest of this. Later.

[Danny was very worried about what Zodiac would do if they found out where he was. Which was why he wasn't even going to ask until this was over.

And well, he was completely planning to join in on any plans to beat up a few capitalist demons. That was a completely acceptable target to take this out on. ]

[Varian definitely wanted to help deal with Zodiac. He didn't want it to be a waste- all this hurt he's caused people he cares about so much. He frowns, he doesn't look totally convinced, but he does at least feel a little comforted. For now.]

Okay...yeah. I'll keep as safe as I can. You- you too. Things are probably gonna get bad.

Don't worry. I haven't done anything to get on their radar. Yet.

I'm going to do what I can to help, once everyone figures out what the plan is. But I'll be careful.

I know after pulling this stunt that I- I don't really have a place to ask you to be careful, but still.

But it is still a yet. I don't think they'd have any reason to be paying attention to me.

[Unless they'd been tracking who Varian's friends were. But that would be crazy.]

I'm going to be careful. But I need to do something to help.

I have a bad feeling they'll be keeping an eye on everyone on this thing now.

[Which he feels guilty for, but he didn't really have any other option.]

...Yeah, that's fair. I can understand that. This place is your home even more...more than it is mine. It makes sense you'd want to defend it.

Even if they are, I'm literally a ghost. If anyone can sneak in without being noticed, its me.

[Unless their offices were guarded by anti-ghost stuff. But Danny hadn't seen any of the ghost tech from his memories in this world, and what were the chances they had an exorcist like that one guy on staff?]

Even if this wasn't the place I grew up in. There's a lot of people here I care about, you know? I can't stay on the side any more.

..That's...actually a really good point. You might not have to worry about the security doors either, you'd just float right through them.

[He should not be giving Danny ideas, and here he is. ]

That's...pretty much how I feel. This place and the people in it are worth fighting for.

Right! Its like my powers are practically made for this kind of thing.

Exactly. [For a long time Danny wasn't sure if he wanted to fight. All these powers that had been forced on him.... But he would have been happy to just get them under control enough to go back to a mostly normal life. But now there were so many people he cared about here. He couldn't just stay on the sidelines and be a kid any more. ]

If I can help, I feel like I should try. You know?

They really are. You could get through without any problem and probably just like...drop a floor if someone finds you.

[This is absolutely gonna bite them in the ass later. But he understands Danny's stance only too well, even if he is a little worried.]

That's why I did what I did- because just sitting back and doing nothing felt...wrong, you know?

Or I could turn invisible or just go through a wall.

[Danny nods.]

And I do get it. Just... I'd be a lot happier if you'd had backup. Or at least someone to get you out of there if it went wrong.

[Danny could hope that this wouldn't be as dangerous, since he definitely wouldn't be going in alone on this. Not with how many people were planning to help.]

Yeah! That- that works. So long as you're safe, that...makes sense.

[He heaves out a sigh, because yup, that's a hard lesson learned right there.]

Don't worry, I don't plan on doing anything else without backup. Heard people loud and clear, there.

Don't worry so much. I'm going to be careful and not get in over my head.

[Danny wouldn't use the word promise, because he knew what that meant to Varian. But he would make a promise to himself. He would help, but he wouldn't do anything risky. He didn't want to make anyone worry.

Not after how the last month.]

That's good to know, that's- that's as much as we can hope for right now.

[He notices Danny doesn't make a promise and it means a lot to him. Better they be upfront about this than make promises they cannot guarantee they can keep. ]

[Danny hesitates.]

Hey Varian? Its going to get better. I'm sure of it.

[Danny had to believe that it would. ]

[Varian heaves out a little nervous sigh.]

I really hope so. I'd give just about anything for one quiet month at this point.
