WHO: Jusis and all o' y'all!
WHERE: Network
WHEN: January 8th
WHAT: Someone new has arrived on the Libra app, but this time by, uh, some definition of choice.
WARNINGS: None so far, but headers will have them if needed!
[There's a new face gracing Libra's network. He's wearing a nice, green suit and a solid, darker green tie. Jusis is a man who looks professional and rather severe, especially with his resting bitch face. When he speaks, there's a subtle German accent that can be heard if you're looking for it.]
My name is Jusis Albarea, Esquire, a prosecuting attorney attached to Kaisou's police force. Though I'm new to the Libra app, I'm afraid that Kaisou has gained a certain... reputation lately.
[His face doesn't really betray any emotion as he says that.]
In the spirit of cooperation, and because I see more downsides to keeping it a secret than being open about it, I'll tell you this: I'm a member of The Black Order. I'm here to investigate what has been happening in Kaisou.
[Jusis sighs in what sounds a little like tiredness.]
Whether you help me or not is entirely up to you. I'm not going to force it. That being said, if anything dangerous comes up, you can count on my skills to help protect Kaisou and its people.

I thought you guys didn't trust us and wanted to keep us at arm's length. What's with the sudden change of heart?
no subject
Several factors have led to a change. The length of time these incidents have continued, the more people from other worlds or remembering their past lives increasing, the animalistic or mythological changes occurring to people. If you are also investigating what's happening, this is our only prudent choice.

[After all, unlike POKEGO, the Black Order aren't the reason he and so many others got pulled into this world. He's still handling this cautiously. He's not exactly super quick to trust to begin with.]
And you plan on- on using this information to help us and not just...I don't know, run off with it for your own gain? 'Cause, we're definitely investigating it in order to try and help us deal with everything we've got heaped on top of us. It'd be...pretty awful to get that information and vanish with it, y'know? You guys aren't prone to sticking around.

Normally, we wouldn't dispatch a Guardian here for very long, this is true. However, given how long these events have been going on in Kaisou, I've been assigned to be here until I'm no longer needed. I have a place of residence here, and I'm willing to give the address if you want it.
But to answer your first question: yes, I plan on using the information gathered to help you. I see no reason not to, and the Order has given me freedom within reason to do as I see fit.
no subject
That's okay, I don't have plans to...stalk you or anything. It's just the first time I saw your group they kinda...vanished pretty quickly. I guess seeing is believing if you stick around and help us out, but you saying you will is more than any other Black Order member has offered before so...guess that's worth something.

I don't always agree with how my colleagues handle matters, but neither do they always agree with me. However, that's exactly why I find concealing my role as a Guardian to be more damaging than being upfront about it. If I'm to prove myself worthy of even some trust, then I must be truthful from the start.
no subject
Yeah. I think we've...we've been lied to enough, at this point. It's about time we got a little bit of honesty. I'm still gonna hold judgement for a little while. But I believe in second chances. That's- that's important. It's the only way anyone can move forward.
no subject
I concur, and I appreciate being afforded that chance even by one person. That said, should any of my colleagues become assigned here as backup, I can't promise they'll be as open to disclosing their position. I can only advise them, but they're free to disregard it, unfortunately.
no subject
[Because WOW, does he have experience there. ]
no subject
They'll make their own foolish choices just like everyone else. As long as you're aware of the possibility, that's enough for me.
[His fellow Guardians can burn as many bridges as they want for all he cares.]
Has anything struck you as particularly out of the ordinary?
no subject
Oh yeah, I'm fully aware of the possibility. I'm not holding my breath, lemmie put it that way.
[Trust has got to be earned. Sometimes re-earned. ]
Like...currently? Because it feels like we just get a new, weird "ordinary" every other month.
no subject
Very well, then.
[He'll leave it at that. There's an understanding, and that's all Jusis cares about for the time being.]
Let's narrow that range to within the last six months to a year. If something has become a new ordinary, it may help put into perspective just how much degradation has occurred.
no subject
Anyway, ooof that's still a lot to go on. He hums thoughtfully.]
Well. The creature changes are...very new still. They started only last month but they've been spreading through the population at an alarming rate. It's also been affecting the non-app users, and almost nothing ever affects them so that's...concerning.
no subject
Are any of the ones not on Libra people without supernatural powers? And have you noticed this happening to those who used to be on Libra?
[Though, admittedly, that last one might be harder to track. Still, he needs to be thorough.]
no subject
[Hw frowns, shaking his head.]
No. There's...one I keep an eye on. A little girl who... well. She was from home but also...isn't. One of those uh- past lives deals. She does have supernatural abilities back home, but she hasn't shown any here since coming off Libra and forgetting everything.
no subject
I think I have a much better grasp on the situation. Thank you.
[Normally, he'd express his sympathies for being in such a situation, but he's not certain of their relationship. Neither is he certain that such a sentiment is wanted or needed. So, Jusis keeps his peace.]
Are you comfortable telling your name to me?
no subject
[He's glad for it. Sympathy for the situation would feel weird anyway. Not even Varian can completely grasp how he feels about the whole Catalina situation. It's just...a whole lot. ]
It's Varian. That's fine, not like it's a secret or anything.
no subject
Fair enough. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Or concerns.
