WHAT: Troll hunting
WARNINGS: general Luffy shenanigans, mild destruction of property, ~~possible~~ over eating once this is done, and Luffy will likely end up with a JOB

Accepting a quest to find a troll sounded like an awesome adventure to Luffy. He's super excited to get started, grinning widely at his two companions.

So, where should we get started looking? Do trolls live in the woods? I think they live in the woods.

He's taking this very literally.

Accepting a mission to find a troll still felt kind of weird to Danny. But he was a part-time ghost now, so for all he knew there were trolls hanging around here somewhere too.

"I thought they lived under bridges."

He'd read a story like that once. Probably.

Jun felt this quest was very much on the silly side, so he wasn't exactly taking it seriously. At least he can log this for community service hours. He was in his normal civilian attire, with his face revealed. Even so, he made no indication that he was the shrouded figure that Luffy dealt with last month.

"What about a bridge in a forest then?" He asks, as if he actually put any thought into it and just piled together their ideas.

Sure! Which way to a forest? I was told that I should usually ask for directions, because heading up does not equal north.

He says this without hesitation. He has a companion with a worse sense of direction but he's still pretty bad at it.

[ Danny decides that he does not want to know the story behind that. ]

...Head for the park?

[Oh...oh boy. Jun smiles a little, with a light tease]

Which is to the south from here....so down?

You guys can lead the way! I don't think you'd be able to keep up if I went at my pace. Unless you're cool with me carrying you?

He's weaker than his normal abilities but carrying two people and sling shooting all of them through the air for a bit shouldn't tire him out too much. Of course, he doesn't take into account that most people don't like being sling shot through the air like a human missile.

...Pass. I'm walking.

[Danny start moving toward the park. That was one suggestion he didn't want anything to do with.]

Mm. Thanks for the offer, but I'll walk myself.

[He'll start walking after Danny, knowing that's the right direction too]

He laughs but doesn't mind them both turning him down. At least he's bothering to ask. His crew doesn't really get a choice in the matter. They just get kidnapped and dragged into his pace.

So, how are we going to fight a troll? I'm not as stretchy as usual. Or strong. And I haven't really had a chance to train back to my former strength, so I'm going to need a little help with fighting it!

I'm kind of hoping we can avoid fighting trolls? [Danny's tone was a little uncertain, however. With the way his luck had been recently, he didn't want to put too much hope into that outcome.]

But I guess there are some things I can do, if it comes down to it.

[The dinosaurs sure hadn't liked having his green energy thrown at them. ]

[Jun gives a pitying sideline glance at Danny. Considering how Luffy behaved with the dinosaurs....boy did you pick the wrong group if you wanted to avoid a fight.

As for himself, he knows full well he has the power to handle himself in a fight if need be. But. Well. He's not going say something]

Mm, I don't know much about fighting trolls, but I'm sure we'd need to approach with caution.

Don't believe him. He doesn't "get it", at all.

Cautiously. So, when do I punch them? Or, are we befriending them?

[Danny stops and stares at Luffy with confusion. This was his first time spending much time with him, and he was not prepared.]

Uh... wouldn't punching them first make it a lot harder to befriend them?

[He considers the question. ]

It'd depend on the troll, really.

See? It will all work out.

He's very much still of the opinion that the plan is punch first, befriend, ask questions later. Despite having literally heard it and that's not the plan.

Punching people has never really stopped me from making friends before.

"But how will we know which kind of troll this is?" Danny turns and stares blankly at Luffy.

"If we become friends first can we skip the punching part?"

You know, I'm not sure. This is my first troll hunt.

[He looks over at Luffy]

Those must be some friendships you have.

If they swing at me, I swing back. And people usually want to fight me. I'm a pirate, after all. But yeah, it usually works out later and we make friends! Unless they're the Marines. Or the World Government.

Sorry, Danny. He has all the tact of a bull in a china shop.

Aren't we looking for the big, fight happy kind? Is there any other kind of troll?

He also is from a time where the internet doesn't really exist.

[Danny just sighs. He was starting to get an idea of what direction his life was heading now.... and it involved a lot of fights that what remained of his normal human logic told him was a terrible idea.]

So.... how many ninjas do you fight?

[Look, he had to ask.]

Maybe some trolls just want to be left alone?

[....You know what he's sure Luffy has an answer to the ninja question, so he'll go ahead and answer that]

That'd be unfortunate if they are that type, since our mission is to collect a troll.

[And the mission means everything, according to jun]

I haven't met any ninjas yet! Ninjas are super cool and a man's dream! I can't wait until I meet them! I've met fishmen and a giant whale and giants and dinosaurs and a talking reindeer and zoan users and other devil fruit users and people in the sky and a cyborg and zombies and a talking skeleton and tree monsters and pirates and marines and a bunch of other guys, though!

Yes. He did just admit to meeting to a ton of crazy others but not ninjas. And yes, he did call ninjas a man's dream. This also might explain why none of this place seems to faze him or why none of it seems weird.

I mean, if they wanted to be left alone, then why would there be a quest about them? I can't imagine it's very interesting, wanting to studying or learn about somebody who wants to be left alone. Anyway, once we get to the park, we should ask around! See if anyone knows anything about trolls! Maybe they can help us.

[You know what? Danny was just going to go ahead and believe all of that. He could turn into a ghost and not too long ago he punched a velociraptor. AND survived.

He didn't have much room to talk any more when it came into ridiculousness.]

I guess all we can do is see what happens.

I see. So many sights but not yet of a ninja. I'm rooting for you, Luffy. I hope you get your dream.

[Find that ninja. Fulfill your man's dream.

At this point they are near the park. Sure enough....it looks like a completely normal day at the park. A few families around, some pigeons, squirrels - the usual]

So...where do we start looking for a troll?

Thanks! I'm sure I'll find one, eventually! I mean, if there's samurai, there have to be ninjas, right??

Because that's how that works. You can't have one without the other. Clearly.

We ask a bunch of people for help! Maybe they can point us in the right direction! Should we split up or go together?

We could probably cover more area if we split up?

[On the other hand, talking to people by themselves meant more change of being laughed out of the park.]
