WHERE: The docks and general shenanigans around town
WHEN: September 8th-ish?
WHAT: Troll hunting
WARNINGS: general Luffy shenanigans, mild destruction of property, ~~possible~~ over eating once this is done, and Luffy will likely end up with a JOB

Accepting a quest to find a troll sounded like an awesome adventure to Luffy. He's super excited to get started, grinning widely at his two companions.

So, where should we get started looking? Do trolls live in the woods? I think they live in the woods.

He's taking this very literally.

Annnnd there he goes. Jun just watches the guy run off, before giving a knowing "this is your fault" smile at Danny.

"Mm, that's a good idea. I'll let you know if I find anything."

Because Danny is on pirate-sitting duties now!! Have fun! Jun meanwhile will head off in another direction, on purpose.

Danny takes a moment to consider this.... and he starts to run. Better catch up quickly before anything else happened.

He'll find that Luffy is just excitedly chatting with bystanders. Several of them seem not to know how to take his sudden approach but he might notice that more than a few start to slowly warm up to him the more he talks.

This ranges from simply looking annoyed but not punching him to actively smiling, albeit a bit awkwardly, and trying to point him in a general direction.

He lights up as Danny approaches and waves him over as he talks to an awkwardly smiling couple.

This is my friend, Danny!

Did you ever agree to be friends? No? Well, now you are, apparently.

These guys were just pointing me in a direction to go!

Whether that's the correct direction or just a random one to get him away from them remains to be seen. Could be both.

[ Danny looks a little surprised at suddenly being referred to as a friend, but also a little pleased. Making new friends was something he usually had trouble with. ]

Yeah? Which direction?

The awkwardly smiling couple relax a bit and seem more willing to help now that Danny is here. Luffy can be a little bit much at first, as he's learned.

They point him in a direction, talking about how they heard rumors of someone making trouble and trolls down by the docks. They don't have any more information than that, sorry. Luffy gives them an exuberant thank you, then turns excitedly to Danny.

We should go! I bet the other guy will meet us there, right?

[ Danny nods and frowns. ]

I hope so. And we can send a quick message on the app if hes not there,

We should do that now, then! Just to make sure we all know where we're heading.

He struggles with his phone for a few seconds, clearly still not used to the technology, before opening the app. Then, he's shoving towards Danny.

What's his user id thingymajig? How can I find him? Do you know?

Hopefully he knows, because Luffy is totally down to message literally every single person in the app to meet them at the docks, if not. Or will attempt to, before Danny likely stops him.

[Catching on to part of this, Danny hastily sends the message, then goes back to show Luffy the steps.]

[A second after Danny sends the message, Jun's voice can be heard behind them. When did he get there?]

Did you find something?

It's hard to say if Luffy noticed him arriving or not. Whether he's surprised or not, though, he sure is pleased to see him again.

Hey, there you are! We were just talking about you! We found a new place to look!

And, to Danny, he grins.

See? I knew he'd find us somehow!

[Danny jumps at the sudden appearance.]

A little more warning next time?

[He smiles at Danny, refusing to make no promises about that. Teleporters come and go as they please]

Haha, you were easy to find. [Luffy stands out]

So what's the new place?

Somewhere down by the docks! Some nice couple told us about it!

Worth a try, I guess.

[And that totally sounded like a reliable source. ]

Well, I didn't find any leads in my search so- sure! Let's check it out.

Awesome, let's go!

Are you guys sure you still don't want to go the fast way?

"No!" Danny say hastily. "I'm perfectly fine with taking the slow way."

Jun meanwhile will simply shrug.

"I don't mind going either way, but if Danny would rather do the slow way I suppose we stick to that..."

Boo.

Luffy pouts at Danny's instant denial of the fast way.

"Fiiiiine. We can be boring and walk and be slow."

Danny will gladly take the boring way if it means they all get there in one piece.

"Okay, let's go then."

He starts walking.

Jun can't help but chuckle a little at Luffy's sulking as he begins to walk, following their lead since they were the ones who got the tip.

"Sorry Luffy. Maybe another time we can do it the fast way."

That's a promise, right? Next time?

He perks up a bit at the idea of getting to do things his way next time. He's a rather simple person to please. Not that that's likely surprising, to either of them.

Despite his complaints about walking being "slower", it actually doesn't take them too long to get there.

Now that we're here, where should we look first?

Not if I can help it. [Danny was grumbling under his breath. He was enjoying actually feeling like he had solid ground under his feet after the last few weeks. The last thing he wanted was to do anything crazy.]

Anyone see a bridge?

[Man, these two were like oil and water. Jun makes no comment about it, instead looking around. The lake is too large to have a bridge across it, they'd have to go further away down towards one of the streams. But...

He points to a fishing pier, sticking out over the water]

I see a fishing pier. Would that count?
