[Zelos video feed will show him at first in selfie mode. He's got that look so someone that's trying to look like he's just in his casual PJs but has definitely doled himself up for the camera]
Soooo I know it's been a crazy month thanks to someone making a portal, but I looked out my window this morning and-
[he'll turn the camera to point out the window and show an landmass floating above the state park in the distance]
What the hell is that?
[Sure enough, there is now a floating island floating above Kami State park thanks to a world regain! It is full of moogle and puffy trees]

Well I guess we'll find out if it moves around a lot. What was it like growing up on a floating island? Did you have to worry about cats knocking stuff off the edge all the time?
no subject
Everyone with any sense stayed clear of the edge, so we didn't have that particular worry. Being held aloft by magic didn't make it immune to high winds or erosion, after all.
[One ear flicks a little in thought, turning a bit more serious.]
But honestly, I have no idea how to succinctly describe the experience without using gardening metaphors, and you, my dear, have the air of someone who wouldn't know the difference between a spade and trowel.

Hey, try me! Maybe I'm not a big gardener, but it can't be that complicated to understand!
[He says, ignorantly]

[Faith things will be properly understood: minimal. Instead, Ghaleon adjusts the explanation to leave out certain details.]
Since time out of mind, Vane was a garden meant to cultivate knowledge and magical learning. Its original inhabitants were my people, who lived on a timescale akin to trees, though almost the entire population consisted of humans by the time I was born. One last sapling among the flowers, if you will.
...I outgrew it quickly. Or, I suppose it would be more accurate to for all that my roots are on that island, we both needed time apart to grow before we could coexist again.

Oh, I get it. It was a place that was carefully regulated, but still changed over time. By the time you were born, even though your people were there first, you were still in the minority.
And eventually, you got the desire to spread your wings and felt stifled, so you got out of there for some time.
Did I get it correctly?

...And if I'm honest, it's far easier to pull off "eccentric genius" when you're an adult with actual social skills rather than an awkward child who looks half their seventeen years. [A brief pause.] And no, that is not an exaggeration. It's going to be decades before I can tell if being restored to life means I'm aging again.
no subject
Ha, I get that. But that does beg the question, just how old are you now?

Damn. I would've said you don't look a day above 600.

Magic, especially of the divine sort, does wonders for preserving a body, although I have always made a point to moisturize.
