WHAT: Let's go fight a mimic! And maybe bond over mediocre meatballs! And maybe get banned from Ikea!
WARNINGS: Property damage, physical violence and likely some swearing.

[Tsuna is standing off to the side, trying not to be noticed.

He's not entirely sure what he's doing here, for a variety of reasons. He'd seen the request and well, a thousand dollars is a thousand dollars but he also has no idea how to fight a mimic. For all his video game knowledge, it doesn't really transfer over to real life.

But he also can't shake the voice in his head that tells him to just do it. It's a familiar voice, and yet Tsuna is unable to place it. So it just kind of sits and tells him to do things. Things he doesn't want to do and yet ends up doing them anyway. It's annoying.

He looks around. The store should be closing soon.]

[For a brief moment, there's a flash of memory for Tsuna. Or a feeling. The feeling that he can't do anything like a Normal Person. That's just not the Vongola way.]

Right. I guess that makes sense, and hopefully no one gives us any trouble.

So, I guess we start looking, huh?

Right. We look for anything suspicious. Try to find any clues.

[Mostly it's going to be a lot of wandering around in endless Ikea hell. He already knows that. They're in for a long night.]

Right.

[He feels a little silly, going through everything when he's not really shopping. And it's starting to feel a little creepy as the store empties out. It's weird to not have the crowds.]

I didn't see anything in the cabinets over there.

[Katsuki doesn't seem particularly troubled to be wandering around checking things out as the store empties out. He doesn't really know what they're looking for. But he knows he'll know when he sees something out of the ordinary.

While Tsuna is checking the cabinets, something has caught his eye. He's crouched down investigating scuff marks on the floor. It could be nothing... he stands up.]

Good idea. It didn't sound like there were signs of a break in. So whoever is doing it either has keys or they're hiding somewhere until the store closes.

They'd probably be able to figure out if it was an employee, one way or another.

So, we might just have to check the furniture. I can try the next section. There doesn't seem to be anything here.

Yeah. I'm definitely leaning towards it being someone hiding in here. Possibly more than one. The question is how they're getting things out... don't go too far. If we get separated in this place it's gonna be a pain to find each other again.

[Tsuna had proven he could fight in June's realm. But he hadn't seemed to really understand his own powers. So... Katsuki doesn't want him out of sight when they don't know what kind of people they're dealing with.

So he stays close enough to keep Tsuna in his line of vision as they make their way through the store. The store gets emptier and quieter as they go.

And then lights start shutting off as the store begins closing up for the night. Katsuki turns on the light on his cellphone and keeps pushing on.

And somewhere in the distance something moves. Katsuki pauses to listen.]

[As the store empties and the lights go out, Tsuna's initial bravado, what little there was, diminishes. He's not the biggest fan of the dark at the best of times, and eventually moves so that Bakugou is in front. But he does turn on his cellphone's flashlight as well.

The more light the better.

Tsuna winces at the sound, looking around in the dark and suddenly, very strongly, regretting his choices.]

What was that?

Think that's our thief. Stay close.

[Tsuna may be losing confidence, but Katsuki starts moving towards the sound. Pausing to listen for more sounds. Whoever or whatever is out there, it's moving around out there in the dark.

But it doesn't sound like footsteps. It sounds like something dragging. Sliding.]

[Tsuna nods, moving in a little closer to Katsuki. Maybe a little too close, but he doesn't like that sliding sound.

Almost peeking out from behind Bakugou's back, he holds up his phone, shining the light around in the hopes that maybe, it was just the sound of the store settling.]

[The sounds get louder as the move and then suddenly... they stop. But it sounds like it's not much further ahead when it stops. Somewhere just up ahead. Katsuki steadily moves forward, shining the light of his phone at the furniture lining the aisle. Checking for signs that anyone might be hiding.

They make it a good ten feet down the aisle and then, while Katsuki is opening a cabinet to check inside, Tsuna might hear the sliding sound behind them. Katsuki misses it because of the sound of the cabinet clicking open. But if Tsuna turns he may see a wardrobe is now sitting in the middle of the aisle behind them.]

[They're supposed to be working together, so Tsuna does take the chance to scan around the room with his phone light, just in case he sees anything. He's eager to be done, so he rushes and really only catches the wardrobe out of the corner of his eye.

But catch it he does. It almost doesn't register at first, but then it does and Tsuna gulps. He reaches back and tugs and Bakugou's sleeve]

Umm...

[He says in a quiet voice and points.]

[He turns his head as Tsuna tugs on his sleeve. He looks where he's pointing, frowning as he sees the wardrobe. At first confused. Until he realizes it's in the middle of the aisle.

But he doesn't immediately think the wardrobe itself is the problem. He turns his light left and right, looking for signs of a person around.]

Someone is fucking with us. Oy! You think you're funny? Come out and face me! I'll kick your ass!

[And while he's busy with yelling into the dark store... the wardrobe moves. Just slightly. A wobble. And then... a thin crack spreads across the front, horizontal. It grows wider, splitting open to reveal sharp teeth.

This doesn't go unnoticed and Katsuki jerks Tsuna back by the back of his shirt. Dragging him further from the creature.]

What the hell?? What is that thing??

[Tsuna absolutely lets that happen because his legs have forgotten how to work in the face of this...thing. He is trying not to scream.]

It's a monster! No one said anything about a monster!

[He's gonna wake up any moment now. This is just a dream, right?]

[The mimic lurches forward and Katsuki shoves Tsuna to the side to get him out of the way, raising his hands to catch just above the mouth. It slams him back into the dresser behind him, causing it to topple and Katsuki to fall back.

He lets off an explosion as he does, catching the mimic enough that it jerks back. But Katsuki still ends up toppling, cursing.

And while he's scrambling, the mimic turns its attention on Tsuna, advancing on him instead.]

[Tsuna stumbles, aided by the push and knocks over a displayed nightstand. He struggles to get up, caught between fight and flight. Wanting some distance to think of a plan and also wanting a weapon or something he can fight back with. All while the creature advances on him.

And in that moment, he regrets. He regrets coming here, regrets choosing this quest, regrets not being more prepared, and most of all, he regrets not being able to help Bakugou. He should have been more help. He can hear the gnashing of the mimic's teeth.

And that seems to be the trigger.

Because there's a flash, and once again, Tsuna's clothes explode off of his body, and a brilliant orange flame ignites in the middle of Tsuna's forehead.]

RE-BORN!!! I'll destroy this thing with my dying will!

[Tsuna fighting a mimic in his underwear is definitely the opposite of what this situation needs, in Katsuki's opinion. But at least he's less not likely to get eaten so. There's that.

While Katsuki fights to yank himself free of the debris of a destroyed dresser, the mimic lunges at Tsuna, teeth gnashing.]

Watch out!

[If he had a choice, Tsuna wouldn't be going for it either. But, he's not having those thoughts right now. Instead, with a loud roar, Tsuna meets the lunge, grabbing either side of the snarling maw and pushing the creature to a standstill.]

[There is a heartstopping moment when Katsuki thinks Tsuna is about to get eaten. And then he's stopping the mimic in it's tracks.

Katsuki yanks himself free and hurtles towards it. He wants to be careful with Tsuna so close to it. So he doesn't try to use his explosions until he's on it. Hand slamming up against the side of it as he lets off a few careful pops.

It jerks itself back and away from Tsuna and Katsuki. Turning, it bolts, slamming its way through a nearby bookshelf in the process.]

Shit! Don't let it get away!

[Katsuki scrambles to give chase. The mimic smashing through furniture and leaving a mess for them to navigate.]

[Suddenly free of the thing that was bracing him, Tsuna falters slightly but catches himself. With another roar, he's after the mimic, following the monster at a surprisingly speed. If there's furniture in his way, well, there isn't any more.

As he catches up, Tsuna suddenly leaps into the air, crashing down on the monster in an awkward full-body tackle.]

[Well, damn, kid! The mimic turns towards Tsuna as he dives at it and Katsuki watches Tsuna slam into it, sending it toppling backwards, little legs scrambling. It crashes through a desk before landing on it's back.

Seeing a chance, Katsuki aims his explosions down to shoot himself into the air and forward. Shouting a warning that hopefully Tsuna will heed;]

Stay out of my way!

[The mimic opens its maw wide as Katsuki drops down towards it. Clearly hoping to take a bite out of him.]

Hell no you don't, you toothy bastard!

[As he drops down towards that mouth, he aims down towards it.]

Say 'aaah'!

[And he's blasting right into the mimic's open mouth. The force pops him into the air again and he ends up crashing into a nearby display of throw pillows, cursing.]

[Tsuna had been going in for another attack when the warning hits and he holds back. There's a vague sense of familiarity in what's happening here and he's able to stop himself.

The mimic, on the other hand, screams in pain as the explosion goes off. Though it sounds rather mangled as the damage is done to the creatures tongue. One of the doors of the dresser swings shut.

Seeing it off balance, Tsuna charges in again, slamming himself against the door and pushing the mimic up against a wall. If there was anything in the way, it gets pushed aside.]

Okay now I'm fucking pissed!!

[Katsuki scrambles to free himself from the pile of pillows, getting back on his feet. Some of the pillows don't survive. He watches Tsuna slam into it and launches himself to land atop the mimic. He starts raining down blows on the top.]

Don't let up on it! Let's finish this!!

[There's another roar from Tsuna, who backs up and goes in for another body slam against the mimic, hammering on the weakened doors of the dresser.

It's not pretty, and it's not really controlled. It's just a blind rage.]

[With neither letting up, the mimic can't escape. Eventually, the mimic stops moving, slumping down in the aisle. At which point Katsuki finally stops his attacks. Tired, he hops off of the defeeated mimic and stumbles to the sofa, slumping down on it.]

Ugh... what a pain in the ass.

[Tsuna keeps punching at it until the flame starts to dissipate and he returns to himself. He shakes his head, looking around at the ruined store and the defeated monster in front of him. Vaguely, he's aware of what's happened to him, but it might take a minute for the memories to fully show up.

And then he realizes he's in his underwear.]

It happened again, huh?

But, it's not gonna get up again, do you think?
