June Event Log

June Event
Dominant Element: Light
Waning Element: Shadow
※
Summer is here! Throughout the month, the weather will be warm and sunny. Very sunny in fact, the UV rays are a little strong this month, so you better make sure you have sunscreen or coverage or you'll find yourself getting sunburned pretty quickly! Still, not a bad price to pay for a little warm weather. At night, the darkness has turned to normal levels and the starlight even seems a bit more visible than normal. Take a special someone with you to go stargazing, if you're so inclined.

With school out for the season, the school campuses are mostly shut down aside from any summer school or club programs. The rest of the city is full of life, however. Outdoor markets are in full swing, and it's easy to find an event in the park whether it be live plays or small concerts. There's also the anime convention that's taking place at the civic center during the weekend of June 18th! Grab your cosplay gear and your merch and set off for a wild weekend!
Around town, there's many new places to see. Buy some Japanese-style convenience store food at Ai-Mart, eat a burger at Big Bang Burgers (or take the burger challenge, if your stomach can handle it), or buy some knives at the new cutlery store! If you're hurt, you can swing by Bubu Pharmacy for some medicine. If you're more into performances, why not check out the Seisho Music Theatre Academy? Just whatever you do...stay out of the Dog Park.
If you take a trip out to Stardew Valley, the season has changed dramatically to summer there. Summer crops are all that are being grown. Even the vegetation is radically different. You don't remember there being any palm trees in the Valley before, but they're sure there now! The beach is now open as well, for anyone hoping to get some fishing in or gathering seashells! Perhaps taking a relaxing vacation to the valley is the perfect way to kick off your summer. And is you want to revisit some old spirit realm grounds, the gate to Kanto has returned to Blue Fish Lake Park. Go on some wild adventure and get attacked by zubats meet some Pokémon! Just watch out for the horrible goose that roams the same park.

The bright sunny days of June make the dark harrowing nights of May seem like a distant memory. It's pretty tempting to go out in the sun and just lay out. Be careful however, because throughout the month while you're outside- the Spirit Vein in the sky will flicker before dropping random items at you. Try not to get hit! Any fragile items will be magically spared - either by bouncing, having a little parachute, or having something (or someone) conveniently break its fall. Some people may also find themselves awake with new powers or changes to their appearance. Seems the Spirit Vein is once again acting up and spewing out some stuff from other realms. Oh well! Finders keepers!

At some point during the night of June 10th, either during an actual dream or as a sort of vision, you'll find yourself encircled by a set of five gems, all in different colors. They spin around you once or twice, long enough for you to get a good grasp on what they look like, before turning into small balls of colored light and flying into your chest, becoming one with you as they vanish. You don't entirely understand why, but you get the sense that they were always a part of you.
...Or, well, that's what's supposed to happen. For some of you, you may find that before the gems can become a part of you once more, a shadowy something will reach out and snatch one away, vanishing into the shadows before you can reclaim it. From that point onward, depending on the gem that was taken, you'll find that a part of yourself feels like it's missing, and you may find yourself changing as a result.
If the red gem was taken, you'll find yourself suddenly feeling unnerved by things that you never felt frightened of before, and you may find that your physical abilities and powers no longer function as they once did.
If the white gem was taken, you'll find yourself suddenly, and rapidly, growing older.
If the green gem was taken, you'll find that you no longer possess the impulse control you may have once had, and you'll find yourself leaping into situations without thinking them through.
If the blue gem was taken, you'll find that you just... well, you're just a bit less smart than you once were. Reading, writing, and arithmetic, things that might have once been easy to you, are suddenly much harder for you to grasp than they should be.
And lastly, if the yellow gem was taken, you'll feel yourself sinking into a deep depression. You may no longer be able to muster up the energy to do anything at all, because what's the point, or you may simply just be stuck viewing the entire world as a glass mostly empty.
Sometime mid-morning the following day, Zodiac will send out an alert:
ALERT: SHIFTING GATE LOCATED IN CENTRAL SQUARE.
Element Classification: Light
Danger Level: Varied
Designation: Night Dimension
A new gate has been detected in Central Square. Initial readings are inconsistent regarding the presence of hostiles, so precaution is recommended. Further investigation is required.
Investigative reports, as well as retrieval of lifeforms from inside the realm, will be compensated.
Additionally, Zodiac has received some reports of this realm being accessed via the subconscious. Actual evidence of this as a possibility is sparse and inconclusive, however, so Zodiac has elected not to investigate further.
Stopping by Zodiac Headquarters, the place has calmed down a lot from the previous month. If anything, the receptionist looks exhausted from all the paperwork and all-nighters they had to pull. They keep conversations brief and allow you to borrow equipment, right before drifting off again. Professor Willow meanwhile seems to have more energy. It's been awhile since this particular gate has been spotted! He's heard it has the power to manifest your dreams, and it'd be really fascinating to see what kind of creatures would live here. He'll ask anyone to record their findings and bring it back to them.
True to form, there is indeed a gate in Central Square. From afar, it just looks like the entrance to a normal office building, but once you walk past the windows, you'll notice the reflection of something flying past you— it's hard to make out exactly what it is, but it's definitely purple and it's definitely not something that seems to actually exist among the crowd. The gate itself is a simple wooden door, and functions exactly as you'd expect.

Upon entering the gate, you'll find yourself in what appears to be some sort of courtyard at nighttime. There's a lovely fountain at the center, surrounded by a ring of wooden doors not unlike the one you entered to get here in the first place.
...Or did you? As Zodiac mentioned, it's entirely possible that you might fall asleep and find yourself here, or on the other side of any of those wooden doors. Isn't that just lovely?
Regardless, the first time you arrive here, you'll find that it seems to be snowing. It's brief, only lasting long enough for some of the snowflakes to land on you and melt, but as soon as it's over you'll find that you feel somehow lighter... and if you look down, you'll find two things that might strike you as alarming.
For one thing, you will find that you are not wearing the clothes you came in with— instead, you're wearing some kind of fanciful jester or silly outfit (maybe a crappy halloween costume, or even a fursuit). The outfits vary based on people's personalities and aesthetics, but they all have a jester aesthetic or otherwise silly outfit. Thought you were too cool for cosplay huh?
For another, you're now levitating.
This is approximately the moment that you'll be greeted by a talking owl, who will forcefully helpfully inform you that you are now in the Night Dimension, and that some being named "NiGHTS" must have granted you the ability to fly while you're here. He'll give you some pointers on how to control your new ability, but you'll find it's easiest to control if you spread your arms out to either side and just allow yourself to glide along. Just don't think too hard about the trail of sparkles behind you while you're flying.
The owl will also inform you that the doors around the fountain lead to various places in "Nightopia," the world of dreams, and encourages you to head on through whenever you're ready.
What you see when you head through the doors entirely depends on what it is you'd like to dream about. You may find yourself in a gorgeous green landscape, with rolling hills and streams and blue skies. Or perhaps you may find yourself in an amusement park, or even on the streets of a city you've always wanted to visit. No matter where you find yourself, it's always bright and sunny (or a clear night sky, depending on the dream), and the weather is always perfect.
Naturally, you're not entirely alone here. While Nightopia isn't exactly bustling, eventually a couple of small beings, reminiscent of cherubs will poke their heads out and start to approach you curiously. These, as Owl fills in whether or not you want him to, are Nightopians, the denizens of this realm. They don't seem to speak any language, but interacting with them will reveal that they're sweet and rather childlike. They enjoy playing, nice food, and anything that inspires laughter, and they'll cry and flee whenever they're scared or hurt.
They only seem to react badly to some of the other creatures that you might find poking around Nightopia— things like weird sheep, or other strange creatures that look like they could only exist in a dream. They don't seem entirely out of place here, but they definitely aren't as friendly as the Nightopians and you'd do best to fly after them and take them out. They seem to be weak to being rammed into, or even just forming a loop around them with the sparkle trail from your flying. Weird weakness, but okay.

Speaking of being scared, no matter where you find yourself in Nightopia, you'll inevitably find that if you go far enough, you'll find what seems to be the edge of the world— a sharp drop into inky nothingness. If you try to approach, the Nightopians will latch onto your arms and legs, trying to pull you away from it and making increasingly upset noises. Even Owl won't get too close, but he does tell you that the darkness leads to the realm of Nightmare.
The name itself more or less gives away what it is, but Owl does provide one last tidbit: Those gems you saw before the gate opened were called “Ideya,” and it's only here that they can take physical form. The Nightmaren, denizens of Nightmare, have been stealing Ideya from visitors— and if you've already lost one, Owl deduces that must be what's happened to you. He doesn't know why they're doing it, but he does note with some sadness that visitors who lose all of their Ideya aren't able to wake up again.
Of course, you're welcome to ignore all of their warnings and head right in, but Owl and the Nightopians won't be coming with you.
What you'll find in Nightmare depends entirely on you, but the basics are always the same: Darkness, coupled with twisted, impossible geometry. The rest of the realm begins to build itself based on your worst fears. A person with a fear of snakes might find themselves in a den of vipers, while others might find themselves caught in a traumatic memory.
The Nightmaren here are nowhere near as cute and cuddly as the ones that must have slipped out into Nightopia. These take the form of strange monsters that are, unsurprisingly, torn straight from your nightmares— giant twisted spiders, mutant clowns, et cetera.
If the nightmares become too much for you, don't worry! Before you can get killed, you'll hear the sound of a flute before you pass out. When you wake up, you'll be back in the entrace way of the dream world. Seems someone was watching out for you.
Taking out some of the stronger Nightmaren may or may not release some of the captured Ideya, but will definitely net you some information: the Nightmaren work for a “master” deep at the center of the Realm, and he needs to collect Ideya from visitors like yourself in order to gain the power to make it out of the gate and begin conquering the waking world.

While many of the Ideya have been taken to Nightmare, a few fell out of the Nightmarean's hands and got scattered across Nightopia instead. For these lucky folks (IE, the ones who aren't quite ready to face their nightmares), they'll find their Ideya to be free for reclaiming … if you can catch them, anyway! They seem to be teasing you, flying away from you and leading you through an obstacle course of Nightopia's natural scenery, as well as rings that will appear in the sky for you to make your way through. Complete the obstacle course and catch the Ideya, and it's yours!
For those less fortunate, you'll have to travel into your Nightmares to reclaim what was lost. For some, this might mean facing off against your own nightmares. Some who do that will find their Ideya as a reward for their bravery. But for many, even that won't be enough to garner their Ideya, and they'll have to travel deep into the realm itself to face off against the Master of the Nightmare Realm.
The closer you get to the center of the realm, the stronger the nightmares become, and the more personal you'll find the nightmares becoming. What were once generic scares are starting to take more and more realistic forms— twisted versions of people important to you, whether that importance is positive or negative. All that matters is that they're targeting you, specifically, and they want to break you before you can reach their master.
If you can make it to the center of the realm, though, you'll find that it's quite a bit different from everything else so far. In fact, it just seems to be Kaisou's Central Square at nighttime. There's one problem with it, though— you distinctly remember there not being a skyscraper-sized metallic man with six hands in Kaisou.
This, as he'll introduce himself, is Wizeman the Wicked— Lord of Nightmare, and the cause of all your strife this month. If you can defeat him, you should be able to free all of the captured Ideya… but can you defeat a being that can wield your deepest, darkest fears against you? It'd be best to work together and possibly target some of those hand eyes.
Eventually, though, Wizeman the Wicked must fall. He threatens that he'll never truly be gone, not so long as darkness lives on in the hearts of men, but whatever. He's dealt with for now, and that has to count for something.
Any characters that help to take down Wizeman will have their Ideya restored upon his defeat. The rest of the gems will go flying away, presumably back to their owners who couldn't make it this far into the journey. Characters who lost a piece of themselves will find themselves whole once more after this point, whether or not they went into the Spirit Realm.
Nightopia will remain open and accessible for the remainder of the month, and all of the Nightopians will be celebrating your victory. You're welcome to join in on the party! Zodiac and Professor Willow will be happy to compensate any information you bring back. However, any items you try to bring back won't survive outside the realm and fade away - like it was a dream.
However, you'll find that if you try to approach the entrance to Nightmare again, you'll find that it begins snowing as you get closer and closer, until you find yourself in a blizzard so thick there's no way to proceed. Seems like that snow that granted you your flying— “NiGHTS,” was it?— doesn't want you to go back. Ah, well… maybe that's for the best, anyway.
The dominant element this month is Light! Anyone with an affinity to the light element will find themselves boosted throughout the month. This could mean a boost to their power, having more energy, feeling more inspired with creativity, having better luck on different attempts -- the boost can manifest in all sorts of different ways. By contrast, anyone with an affinity for Shadow will be experiencing the opposite. Perhaps their powers will be weaker, they have less energy, they're having a creative block or general worse luck - again it can manifest in all sorts of way and players are free to play with this mechanic as they'd like.
This event is meant to be a chill "pick your own flavor of trauma". If you want your character to face their deepest nightmares, great! Otherwise they are welcome to just play in the happy dream land of things. Do as you like!
The original OOC plotting post for this event can be found here. Free gacha is obtainable for any character, including new ones, through June 30th!

[Luz did look over at Alma though, the Abuela, who she couldn't help but get a tinge of regret seeing. It wasn't her mother and certainly her mother wasn't that old, but she could relate to wanting that look from a cherished familial figure].
I can tell that. I mean, not right away, but I can see in her eyes there's a lot of story there. Clearly she's the keeper of Casita, in a way, or at least the centerpiece.
Still, it is a little sad that her anger and disappointment would be a thing you'd have to worry about. I'm hoping it doesn't happen too often.
[Granted, Luz SAID this as a casual observer and was very much not wanting to think of the look on her own mother's face the last time they saw each other. That was a memory Luz could do without, and she still hadn't decided what she would do about that situation].
no subject
[ She nods a little, watching her younger self interacting with Alma, before her parents finally began to intervene on her behalf so that the tired young girl could get some sleep. ]
Yeah. Abuela was the one to receive the magic all those years ago, that created the Encanto and was passed down through our family. She keeps our family running in a lot of ways. [ For all the good and the bad that came with that.
As the guests finally start to leave and her parents are putting her younger self down to bed, the memory starts to fade a bit. But Luisa starts feeling a bit nervous now, realizing they were still here and more memories might start showing. ]
We should - How do we...? We probably should get out of here.
[ Before they see anything else. ]
no subject
[Not that it escaped her notice that Luisa was definitely being conscripted to be useful. Luz was trying to tread lightly there though, so as not to say something that might sounded mean about Luisa's abuela].
So she's the one that sort of runs this place? That's why she's always there to give affirmations. That's good. In a way.
Really? You don't want to keep watching?
no subject
[ It's definitely something that Luisa is still learning to come to grips with herself - having been almost trained, pretty much most of her life, to be useful. She knows her abuela meant well, but the whole family (or at least, the ones that are still here) were still trying to heal from the hurt that had been caused, intentionally or otherwise. And yet it was still difficult to think of blaming Alma, even if she did have to be held accountable for at least some of it. ]
Pretty much. She's head of the family, and raised her children on her own after Abuelo Pedro died.
[ The rest of the party disappears in the darkness, but Luisa can't help making a face as another memory starts to come to view. ]
I'm not sure if -
[ It's too late, though, as the memory starts to become clearer. And they soon see not just one, but several different memories, displayed against the darkness like visions that encircle around them. There are several of Luisa, at several different ages, going around and performing various feats of strength; as a younger child, there are images of her helping her mother, carrying a table to the spot in the plaza for Julieta's healing stall; another image of her helping her father carrying firewood; but there are so many images of people catching her in the street, asking her to pick up a heavy planter, or a person, or a donkey. These requests are mostly for amusement it seems, many people still finding it entertaining for such a young girl to be so strong, and it feels a lot more like Luisa is putting on a performance, like a show in a circus.
There are also some images of Luisa with other children her age, but some of them are arguing - a disagreement, it seems, about whose team Luisa would be on, since any team she joins would have an unfair disadvantage. Eventually Luisa offers to sit out of the game, and instead watches on the side as the rest of the children play and enjoy whatever game it is without her.
Several images show also Luisa with Alma; one image, still of Luisa as a fair bit younger, being scolded by the older woman for needing to be more careful after accidentally breaking the family's piano; another image, this time of Luisa a bit older, with Alma informing Luisa of how her strength may be needed to protect the entire Encanto, how she may need to fight; in contrast, another image of Alma telling Luisa that she must learn to control her gift in order to not accidentally hurt anyone.
And as the image of Luisa grows older, the requests from the people in town start getting a bit more difficult; asking Luisa to carry a heavy set of bricks, or to retrieve the donkeys that escaped, or to carry a wagon after its wheel had been broken. Eventually Luisa, as the young woman she is, can't take a few steps in town without being bombarded by requests: "Luisa, can you move the church?", "Luisa, the plaza needs to be retiled", "Luisa, can you reroute the river?", "Luisa, the donkeys got out again".
But no matter what age she's seen as, no matter what she's asked to do, Luisa agrees to it with a determined nod and a small smile. And when she returns home, sometimes very late in the evenings, it's only after reporting everything she's done that Alma grants a smile in her direction. ]
no subject
[Though really, it did seem like the other way around, but whatever. They were looking after each other, and then Casita granted her family the abilities. Abuela in turn took the abilities as gifts and raises the other family members to feel the same way. Luz could see, right away (thanks to countless fanfiction and critical reading and understanding) where this could go wrong.
Heck, she'd met Tio Bruno, hadn't she? From the family, yet there was something detached about him, likely from the gift he'd been given. They were bound to have an effect on the way their lives were lived.
She could see that right NOW. Luisa was strong, she was proud of her powers, but they would shape other things too. Luisa was seen now as the strong one, too overpowering to play in regular games, getting older and now becoming an easy person to call.
Luisa did so much. Was it easy to do? Probably. But then she became the taskmaster, and that wasn't fair. That was like...almost isolating her, wasn't it]?
You sure do a lot for your community, Luisa. You have a really big heart!
no subject
[ Like it had been born from the grief of losing him. ]
Yeah, uh...thanks. I...try my best to help.
[ She can't help feeling more restless as the memories continued playing around them, now showing other images of Luisa - Luisa leaving early in the morning, getting ready to tackle the list of tasks that the people in town throw at her; Luisa returning back home after a long day of working, so late at night that the rest of her family had already eaten dinner; Luisa seeing others her age enjoying each other's company, watching them for a moment before turning away to get back to work; Luisa alone in her stiff, dull room trying to keep the overwhelming pressure and the feeling like she's drowning at bay.
And Luisa, as she starts losing her Gift, completely upset and emotional because she can no longer do anything to help. And feeling so lost because, in a way, she almost doesn't know who she is without her strength. ]
no subject
But when more of her memories start to go and Luz watches, she began to see something clearly: she hadn't been wrong in what she initially thought. Being Luisa, being the strong one, that was as much of a cross to bear as it was a gift. If everyone was looking at you to do these tasks, that meant you were left out of so many other things, and you were the one who just stayed the "strong one."
And then she LOST the gift, so naturally Luisa was freaking out, because what could she do if she didn't have her strength? Who was she, if she wasn't the strong one?
Luz understood that, even if she never would have thought herself strong in those terms. She persevered because if she didn't? Despair waited for her, like a familiar friend beckoning her.
She took her hand and held onto Luisa's though, because this was, after all, not about her].
Luisa. You know that you're more than just your strength, right? You're still the girl that people admire, that gets up in the morning and comes back and does her best. Even if you lost all of your strength, that girl wouldn't go away. You're still you.
no subject
And despite some conflicting emotions, she manages a faint smile. ]
Yeah, I...It's hard sometimes, y'know? When you see yourself one way for so long...it can be tough seeing yourself past that. But I'm...I'm trying. I'm trying to be more than just strong. I'm...trying to be more me.
And I have help. My family...especially my little sister, Mira. She... [ She can't help a soft laugh. ] You two are pretty similar, actually.
no subject
It takes a lot, to do the things you've done, to smile and to help. But you did that. And that's the thing: you'll be you, whether you're as strong as you or as flaca as, well, me!
Your family is pretty great! I've met a few of them, actually.
[She giggled] Aw, you think so? That's good, Mirabel is actually someone who brings that joy out in people that I try to do too!
[Luz does, but in typical fashion doesn't see that about herself].
no subject
[ There's still a bit of a ways to go, she knows. But she thinks she's in a better place than she had been before. ]
Yeah, they're all really amazing. I wish you could've met some of the others.
[ Not just Isabela and Dolores, who had gone back home. But even all the ones that had never been here before. It would be nice to see them again.
Luz's comment gets a small frown from her. Mirabel certainly is someone who brings joy to others, that was true. But even though the comment was made innocently enough, Luisa starts to wonder if the comparison between Luz and her sister is more fitting than she first thought. ]
I think you do.
no subject
Me too. They look like really great people, and remind me of my own familia back home. But that's mostly just me and my mom.
[Not that she didn't miss her wildly, which she did].
I'm still surprised when people say that to me! If you'd have told me that back on Earth, I'd have thought you were making fun of me!
no subject
[ She isn't sure if anyone else had that kind of problem. But it had been the main reason she'd been so upset with losing her Gift. Because without it, she didn't feel like she had anything else to offer. ]
It sounds like your mom is pretty great too. What's she like?
Really? Why's that?
no subject
[And that was a hard thing to think about, that people wouldn't value you outside of your gift. Of all people, Luz thought that someone like Luisa Madrigal deserved to worry about that the least].
Oh, mom? She's great! She's an animal doctor and it's hard to raise me by herself, but she does a great job, and she takes time out to watch movies with me and give me lessons when she can! She also has a big heart and...and...
[Oh no, is Luz tearing up? She totally is! She wiped her eyes, trying to be composed. She had, after all, NOT seen her mother in many months, and despite how exciting any place was, she missed her a LOT].
Because people back home didn't really befriend me. I'd be over the top or try hard to get them too, and it would just end up with me being made fun of or people staying away. I was kind of the resident weirdo back home!
[Huh. That was a little depressing, now that she thought about it].
no subject
[ She still isn't quite used to being complimented for anything besides her strength, at least outside of her family. It was definitely a nice feeling, though, even if it's taking a bit of getting used to.
She can't help frowning a little though as Luz wipes her eyes, and she could understand a little at least. Even with the family she had here, she still missed the ones still back home, especially her papí. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to be away from the only family member you had. ]
She sounds wonderful. I can see why you admire her so much.
[ But oh boy, that last part does get to her a little bit. That was definitely she and Mirabel had in common, and Luisa wished that that wasn't the case. Neither of them really deserved that. ]
Well, those people don't know what they're missing. And really, there's nothing wrong with being a weirdo anyway.
no subject
[Luz hadn't realized it yet, but Luisa's situation might have reminded her of the Isles, how they forced you into one coven with only one magic even though covenless witches could do so much more without restrictions like that. Luisa was a bright start that could shine even brighter if people could see all of her!
But thinking about Mami hurt. She was still no closer to getting back to the Isles, and even then she STILL had to find a way to get back to Earth to see her mother again. It was bad enough missing gathering at Papi's grave, but now she was HERE, even further from seeing her mother.
It was honestly good that Eda was still here, or Luz would have been in a worse state].
Yeah, she's pretty great. Still have to find a way to get back to her, once I'm able to get back to the Boiling Isles.
There isn't! I embrace it! Honestly, it took going to a completely different world to realize that sometimes all you need is a new place, with people who'll try to actually understand you!
[It helped to also be the person that changed their life the moment you enter it, but Luz tended to forget that and was more taken by having people she loved and would do anything for].
no subject
Yeah. Having people willing to understand you definitely helps.
no subject
[Being with Eda had helped, but it had been several months since, and that one time where she saw her through reflections and spoke with her that way had not been the same. It was a constant ache, knowing the idea of getting home kept being dangled over her, only to have that hope dashed more and more].
I really miss her.
Without them, I'd probably would have been miserable. Also, my situation is actually a bit more complicated than that too.
no subject
[ It had been months since she'd seen her father too. But she at least had other members of her family to help out. She can't imagine what it must have been like to go through that alone. ]
Complicated?
no subject
[She sighed].
The last time we were together, she was sending me to a camp to try and curb some of my behavior. At the time, she said that my fantasies were holding me back, so this camp was supposed to make me more normal. Instead of going there, I wound up following this owl to another world, where I had the ability to return back home with a portal that already existed there. So I chose to be there instead, for three months. That WAS the plan anyway, but then this emperor got involved, and to prevent him from getting the portal, I burned up the door. So it stopped me from being able to go back to Earth. Recently I managed to make a makeshift portal that allowed me to see her through reflective surfaces but...she thought I chose not to go back home permanently, and begged me to find a way to come back.
That was the last time we spoke to each other."
no subject
Oh wow. [ That does sound pretty complicated, really. ] I'm...sorry that it's been so tough for you. That must be pretty scary, not knowing how to get back home.
[ Kind of like their situation in this world now. ]
no subject
[Luz sighed]. It is hard, in many ways. Of course I want to see my mother again, she's my family and I love her so much. But...I made friends in the Boiling Isles, I learned magic, I have a girlfriend who's so awesome I want to shout about it from the hills! But how exactly do you tell that to your mom if the first thing she thinks is that you wanted to run away from HER? I'm...all she has after Papa died.
[She lowered her head here, doing her best to hold back her tears].
no subject
[ With a small frown, Luisa places a gentle hand on Luz's shoulder. ] I guess...the only thing you can do is tell her the truth. Trust me, things hurts much worse if you just let things go unsaid.
no subject
And that was, well, good advice, though she didn't know how feasible it was to think about].
I will! I mean. When I can actually see her again.
no subject
Yeah, that'd probably have to be the first thing.
no subject
I have to get back to the Isles first, and THEN back home. It's probably going to take some time.
[Or, Luz would find in a month when meeting up with her girlfriend, a desperate situation where all of them were trapped on Earth].
