[SEMI-CLOSED] Jun & Varian's Wedding
WHO: Jun, Varian, and everyone invited to their wedding
WHERE: Flin's Lighthouse island
WHEN: April 18th
WHAT: Jun and Varian's wedding! Ceremony will be handwaved, while reception will be the threaded part because that's the party
WARNINGS: Add as needed.

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon when the wedding takes place. The wedding is located on an island in the Harbor where the only structures are Flin's lighthouse, a small house, and an old graveyard. The wedding itself will take place outside, away from the graveyard. A portion of the island has been section off and decorated to be a proper wedding scene. There's red flowers, lilies, and sundelions all over the place, lovingly provided by the folks living in Persephone's cottage. White folded chairs have been set out across the lane in a precise arrangement, with everyone's assigned seats carefully labeled.
It's a good sized crowd, with over 60 people attending. A lot of them are various folks from the app, but there's also relatives of both the bride and groom that have traveled to see the wedding. It might be a great time to meet some new people, or catch up with folks you haven't seen in awhile.
When it's time, the ceremony goes smoothly. It's a Catholic ceremony, with their own personal touches added in here and there. Jun, the bride, is dressed in a wedding kimono that is reveled as he's walked down the aisle by his father Abel. Meanwhile Varian, the groom, choose a formal suit more fitting of the time period he hailed from. They also exchange their own personalized vows to one another. Tears are shed and there are positive feelings all around. Overall, it's pretty concise for a Catholic ceremony, only lasting a brief 90 minutes.
Afterwards, there's a transition period where the wedding party is taken away for photos, and the people assisting convert the area into one more fitting for a reception. Tables and chairs are set up, a dance floor is laid down, the activity areas are prepped. Within an hour, as it settles in the late afternoon, everything is ready.
The wedding was a success, and now it's time to party the night away.

VOWS | CLOSED
no subject
When it's time for him to give his vows, he's clearly using practiced breathing to keep from panicking from stage fright. He's got notecards in front of him where he's written down his speech- clinging to them like a lifeline. He's definitely rehearsed this, and is doing all he can to get the important words out. ]
This will be short because I have an intense fear of public speaking and I want to get it out before I faint.
Anyway... Varian, I just wanted to tell you... you're precious to me. Before you came along... I was convinced I'd spend my life in the shadows before being eventually forgotten. I had accepted that.
But you found me, you reached out to me - and you made me actually want to go out into the light with you. And since then... Your presence has made my life better in every way. You make me laugh, you hold me when I cry, and you make me remember it's okay to be human. Your kindness, your compassion, your care... you're truly the best man I've ever met. I'm constantly amazed by how incredible you are. And you make me want to be a better person as well.
I used to dread the future, but now? Knowing you'll be there? I look forward to it. I look forward to every day I'll get to wake up to see your smile.
I love you, Varian, with my entire heart and soul. And I'll work the rest of my life to make sure you feel just as loved as you make me feel every day.
[And that's where he'll finish his up, giving a nod to the priest to indicate he's done. There's a small breath of relief as he realizes he didn't faint or run, because that was hands down the scariest thing he's done this month. For Jun anyway]

FOOD & DRINK | OTA
The food itself is largely a mix of German and Japanese cuisine - with a few other cultures important to the couple sprinkled in there, too. You can find such delights as Hochzeitssuppe (a "wedding soup" of chicken broth from Germany, or Lobster Sushi as a wedding tradition from Japan- along with German and Japanese cuisine, there can also be found Indian foods for the father of the groom and a very sweet dessert selection for the father of the bride. The wedding cake, make by Kni, is also sitting here, in pride of place. Each guest will also receive their own personalised cupcake, by chronic never-sleeps Lycaon. Each one is tirelessly crafted to be just right for them.
A small bar can be found set up here, too. While you can't find anything too complex - there is still plenty of variety to choose from for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There are a few German beers here, along with spirits and a few bottles of wine and champagne- along with sodas, teas, coffee and water. Keeping with the Japanese tradition, there is also sake to drink- it's an encouraged drink to have, as part of the wedding reception. While someone is manning the area, if anyone wants to try their hand at making a simple cocktail or mocktail, there's space to do so.
As for seating, there are tables dotted around for people to sit and eat their meals at. Aside from one exception, there are no place settings here. Varian and Jun have read enough Reddit horror stories to avoid anyway being sat awkwardly next to someone else if they don't want to. Guests are able to move and mingle however they want. The one single exception to this is the kids table - this is where Eve, Kni, Bakugou and Izuku are put to sit on the designated kids table.
All the tables have fishbowls full of Lego for guests to pay around with, to create their own table centrepieces, and are encouraged to enjoy some creativity with their meal. The kids table also has crayons with wedding-themed line art to colour in - try and stay inside the lines, kids! While Kni and Eve have the same tableware as the adults, Bakugou and Izuku will find they have plastic kids versions. Someone clearly doesn't trust them with actual china and knives.
Jun Vasiya Nightroad | OTA
With his groom, he's sitting at the table that's been more or selected for the wedding party. His own plate is full of various foods he wanted to try.... but there's a clear bias towards desserts than savory foods (what? It's his wedding ok). He's in incredibly good spirits, as expected for a bride, so he'll great people cheerfully as they sit near him or approach him. If they aren't someone he's already seen, he'll be sure to thank them for coming.]
Hey! How are you doing?

When the Antisocial are forced to be Social | OTA
... though he guesses it is kind of nice to see people so... happy.
Which is how he's found himself at the kid's table, cleaned up nice, hands shoved into his pockets as he slouches back in his chair, just... watching everyone at this thing with a calm but intense look on his face.
He's on his best behavior(18), but that doesn't mean he's going to be nice when approached.]
The hell're you looking at? [He'll grumble to anyone coming close.
... unless you're one of his fellow "kids", at which point he'll curl his lip and declare: ] The crayons are mine. Gimme something to trade or piss off.
[... yes, he's taken ownership of the crayons. If he has to suffer through this fancy party then no one can have dinner entertainment.
Even if it is childish.]

Hermes | OTA
[Benny is trotting at their heels as they go back for another plate. Probably greeting people just as much as Hermes is.]
Hey! Wasn't that great?
[Or maybe they're edging over to the bar, eying the drink menu.]
... Okay, what's the fruitiest one there is? I like those.
[Don't look at them like that, they're legal.]
Zevran | OTA
[Then again that could have been because he was fighting back tears the entire time, but he won't admit that under pain of death.]
[Now he's seated at a table, posed purposefully in his fancy outfit with gold accents here and there. Hair braided neatly, earring in place. He's got what is possibly the biggest glass of wine possible, and is deeply focused on it. Because no, his face isn't blotchy, no he wasn't crying.]

Eve | OTA
[Eve really wants to try a little of everything, though she does pass on dishes which are overtly meat. (She's sitting right next to Kni.)]
[Then she reaches the dessert table and gets immediately distracted. There it is.]
[~The cake~]
[Yes, she knows her brother made that cake. That doesn't change the fact that it's the wedding cake, the first one she's seen in person, elevated by the decorations and place of honor. Thus, the gawking.]
[Someone might want to snap her out of it before she holds up the line.]
Amal Vasiya | OTA
Amal certainly appreciates the extra mile they went to include familiar food at the wedding reception. Though he was looking forward to a big traditional Hannish wedding, this suits Varian and Jun perfectly, so he can't complain. Actually, he'd never admit it, but he's been crying off and on this whole time, and just reapplying his eyeliner (WATERPROOF HIS ASS) when he gets a moment.
If he isn't loading up his plate with enough food to engage his overactive metabolism, he can be found at the bar sampling every drink and looking happy to be here. Because he is. There were times where he thought he wouldn't live to see his adopted son get married. It was a major reason why he mostly retired from adventuring so recklessly, and transitioned to more of a mentor role.]

Zulius | OTA
He is, naturally, wearing a rainbow dress as he walks over towards the food, piling it with... well, mostly sweets, but who is going to stop him? You? ]
I KNOW, right! [ Did you start a conversation with him? Probably not, but he's dragging you along for the ride like you had. ] It's a WONDerful party. I am SO happy for them. I love love you know!!! And NATCH when I was invited I had to grace them with my presence.
OOOH! Can you reach me that little quiche? I need it. I'll even save you a dance if you think you can keep up with me.
Agnes Tachyon | OTA
I have to say the ceremony was enough to bring even me to tears which is saying something. Ah, or maybe you all have made me go soft.
[The smile on her face is far more genuine than usual even as she says this.]

DANCING & THE LOG | OTA
The music itself is provided by Elliot Craig - a familiar face for app users from the past, or from the high school or Vogue. He has strings ready to provide a truly romantic atmosphere. Elliot is very particular over his music, so while he is willing to concede to some requests, don't ask for anything foolish or you might regret it- and definitely don't mess with any of the instruments or you'll definitely regret it.
Notably next to the dance floor is a log on a stand, a saw leaning beside it. It seems deeply out of place at a wedding, and you might be forgiven for thinking this was something Flins forgot to tidy away. But soon you'll learn that this is an old German wedding tradition - Baumstamm Sägen. The log is for Jun and Varian to cut together, as a symbol of their unity and ability to solve problems together from here on out. You're allowed to watch this show, and provide encouragement, or gentle loving jeers if you so see fit. It's a cute little tradition, though.

Hermes | OTA
[As soon as a song starts that has a little speed, or a more noticeable bass beat, Hermes is on their feet. They're on the dance floor in just a moment more.]
C'mon! Let's go!
[Doesn't matter if they know you or not. This is Their Song (everything that you can dance to is their song) and they're going to go all out. Fancy outfit or no. They've got sneakers on, they're not going to pass up a dance.]
Zevran | OTA
[Which means giving fellow dancers an obvious up and down look. A step forward, and a little bow - his hand offered.]
[Of course, the Lines happen. Choose your own adventure:]
1) "Is it hot in here, or did your dancing raise the temperature?"
2) "If dancing were a crime, you’d be guilty of stealing hearts."
3) "You move like poetry. Care to make a sonnet together?"
4) "Your outfit was so impressive, I had to meet with you."
Lycaon | OTA
He seems mostly content to watch...but he could be convinced to at least inch a little closer.
(ooc: only those with close CR with Lycaon can have him get on the dance floor!)]

Carolyn is awkward | Closed
It may be a bit awkward with my new height but it would be a bit of a waste with our new outfits if we didn’t dance at least once.
[The smile on her face is more awkward and a lot less trained than Zarina normally sees]
GAMES & ACTIVITIES | OTA
Otherwise, are you an animal lover? Then you'll want to head over to the Pokemon area. With so many pokemon attending the wedding and living on the island, they've set up a fenced area where Pokemon are allowed to roam around. There's lot of berries and pokemon treats available, as well as Pokemon toys set out for the little guys to enjoy. Feel free to play with the pokemon hanging around or help take care of them!
And in the middle of the pokemon area? There is a table set up, with Flins sitting at it. It seems he has another quiz game all set up, if you want to see what that's about.
FLINS POKEMON QUIZ | OTA
The table is set up, with some sugar sculptures of various Pokemon on display much like it had been at Christmas. Around the table is a pen set up for all sorts of Pokemon to run around. Thanks to the island's natural openness, the space is free for even the largest to be able to run around or sunbathe. At the center of it all is Flins sitting down as Pokemon of all types gather around him.
His hands reach out to ruffle at a stray Wooloo's fluff, or delicately place the Litwick of his own in his lap.
The sign next to the table states the rules:
Flins will ask a series of 3 questions.
Once the person answers them, he will determine what Pokemon suits you best.
After receiving your answer, you get a sugar sculpture to enjoy of that Pokemon.]
Well, hello there young Trainer.
Might I interest you in a quiz on which Pokemon I could see by your side?

Eve | OTA
You're certain there's no way this causes jungle animals to leap at us?
BATTLE BOTS | OTA
There are tables nearby, with tools and spare parts placed on top of each for you to work on your robot - giving it minor tweaks before the battle. There is a strict rule that there can't be any explosions, and that all battles must happen in the arena, but otherwise, you are free to use your robot as you see fit. There are no rules against helping each other out, either. This is a celebration of a union after all, and it's important that everyone has a good time.
The robots are left to duke it out with whatever non-explosive weapons their creators have seen fit to bestow upon them. It promises to be a cacophony of screeching metal and sparks. It's clear the groom has been watching Robot Wars again- given there is a pit in the middle of the arena to shove your enemy into. Whichever robot survives the evening most in tact is the winner. As Varian promised, he does have a trophy for the winner. But given the way most of Kaisou's engineers function, the most important part of this is the bragging rights.
Varian | OTA
As he's placing it in the BATTLE ARENA, he flashes his opponent a smug grin. ]
Hope you're ready to lose, just because I've been busy with a wedding doesn't mean I haven't been getting this baby prepped as good as I could in my free time.
Viktor | ota
Talia--the suitcase, if you would? [Nodding enthusiastically, the Tinkaton scuttled off and returned to the nearest workstation with a wheeled suitcase, which Viktor opened and began to assemble something from carefully transported pieces. Within a matter of minutes, his son stood somewhere in the vicinity of three feet tall and nearly as wide; looking very cute and harmless if not for the enormous fists.]
Eh...for a prototype on short notice, not so bad. I think I've gotten quite skilled with remote control machinery, as well.

THE BEACH | OTA
That being said, it's not like the entirety of the beach is without action. If you happen to walk in the wrong direction- you might find yourself stumbling upon a war. There are seals attempting to get onto the island and to the reception for unclear reasons (though anyone with animal communication will hear them barking about some blond boy who is their sworn enemy). However, they are being valiantly held back by a team of six spheals dressed up in various wedding attire. They are rolling and blocking the seals at every turn- battling it out. Sure, the battle is just bumping into each other and slapping each other with fins- but still.
Finally, out on the waters there is an expensive yacht that'll occasionally sail by. The yacht itself belongs to Gilgamesh, who is currently holding his own kind of recreational activity with Sampo and a few other boatmates. There's also a fuecoco wearing a cowboy hat on the ship- helping them set off fireworks when it draws closer to evening.
The fireworks can easily be seen at the wedding reception, of course, so enjoy the free show.
SPHEAL TEAM SIX DEFENSE FORMATION
the Spheal Team Six is dutifully battling the various factions of seals that have infiltrated Kaisou's waters, inasmuch as lightly chomping on tail flippers and rolling into invaders and occasionally spitting spurts of water in order to drive by the cousin-shaped foemen.
Ghilley has a broom slung over his shoulders. did he take the lighthouse's broom? did he bring his own? who knows. but it is a broom and it is his implement for lightly whapping seals back into the water when they break the Spheal Team formation, his pink jacket removed and shirt-sleeves rolled up in favor of the work. ]
Hey, hey. Do not make me get Furina off the dance floor for this--you guys got a special breakfast this morning! Why are you being such buttheads, huh?
[ he's watching you, Blubberbeasts. just keep snoozin'. stop trying to scoot off the beach.
a mop, a long paintroller pole without a sponge on it, and a feather duster are leaning sentinel next to Ghilley's jacket where he's hung it up, in case he needs to take up dual-wielding to keep the party quiet--or if you want to join in on the repel operations. ]
