[SEMI-CLOSED] Jun & Varian's Wedding
WHO: Jun, Varian, and everyone invited to their wedding
WHERE: Flin's Lighthouse island
WHEN: April 18th
WHAT: Jun and Varian's wedding! Ceremony will be handwaved, while reception will be the threaded part because that's the party
WARNINGS: Add as needed.

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon when the wedding takes place. The wedding is located on an island in the Harbor where the only structures are Flin's lighthouse, a small house, and an old graveyard. The wedding itself will take place outside, away from the graveyard. A portion of the island has been section off and decorated to be a proper wedding scene. There's red flowers, lilies, and sundelions all over the place, lovingly provided by the folks living in Persephone's cottage. White folded chairs have been set out across the lane in a precise arrangement, with everyone's assigned seats carefully labeled.
It's a good sized crowd, with over 60 people attending. A lot of them are various folks from the app, but there's also relatives of both the bride and groom that have traveled to see the wedding. It might be a great time to meet some new people, or catch up with folks you haven't seen in awhile.
When it's time, the ceremony goes smoothly. It's a Catholic ceremony, with their own personal touches added in here and there. Jun, the bride, is dressed in a wedding kimono that is reveled as he's walked down the aisle by his father Abel. Meanwhile Varian, the groom, choose a formal suit more fitting of the time period he hailed from. They also exchange their own personalized vows to one another. Tears are shed and there are positive feelings all around. Overall, it's pretty concise for a Catholic ceremony, only lasting a brief 90 minutes.
Afterwards, there's a transition period where the wedding party is taken away for photos, and the people assisting convert the area into one more fitting for a reception. Tables and chairs are set up, a dance floor is laid down, the activity areas are prepped. Within an hour, as it settles in the late afternoon, everything is ready.
The wedding was a success, and now it's time to party the night away.

IS THAT WHERE NIKITA GOT HIS? He has a letter to write once this is over.]
Do take care to not splurge in that store, Varian. You know not what you wrought.
[He's expecting Varian to come out with like 3 Free Real Estates if he's not watched. What a terrifying idea. It's not like he's just as bad about gemstones and antiques. That's completely normal in comparison.]
This gives me quite a bit of insight.
Alright. Your last question. Which of these fits Varian the best? Spring Equinox, Summer Solstic, Autumn Equinox, Winter Solstice.
no subject
Believe me, he won't heed that warning. I've had to carry him out every time. The workers all know us.
[Varian has no shame. He enjoys it way too much. But oh... he has to consider this question]
Hmmm... that's the tougher one, but I'd say the Spring Equinox. Varian has a gentle warmth, much like spring. And he's a great source of reliable hope, just like the hope that spring will always follow the winter.
Plus, he always like things to be fair and balanced- so a day that is equal parts day and night is fitting for him.

[It's the best store in the world??? Hello???
The response is honestly... so damn sweet though. Varian lets out a soft, breathy laugh, tucking some hair behind his ears as a blush crosses his cheeks.]
I mean, I would have said it was because I grew up on a farm but... Jun's- Jun's is so much nicer. That's so sweet, My Love.

What a delightfully thoughtful answer, and it seems to be spot-on to what Varian thinks. You truly do know him like the back of your hand.
With that, I do believe I know what would fit Varian the best.
[He stands up from the grass he was sitting on, gliding his way over to the sugar sculptures and sifting through them, looking for one in particular. Once he finds it, he pulls out an apple flavoured...aptly flavoured Appletun sculpture.
After nodding in confirmation, he takes it back over and extends this out to Varian.]
Appletun.
There is a saying that it's pre-evolution, Applin, is often a popular gift for lovers who want to propose. While there is something to be said about their conservation in that sense, the gesture is still a charming one. The Applin in this situation was given to you by Jun's answers, and the trust you had in him answering for you.
It's evolution was determined by those answers as well. The Applin does not find a home in nature. It makes its own out of the apple, and evolves into a pie, something that cannot be recreated. Alchemy, as you stated. It also evolves by being exposed to sweet apples as opposed to tart or syrupy ones, which would be a different evolutionary branch.
They are sturdy and reliable companions. Just like you.

[Aka when I'm not even in the same plane of existence as you two.
But he smiles and reaches over to take Varian's hand, giving it a loving squeeze.] Just saying the truth. And of course I know him, that's why I'm married him.
[Still gives a thrill saying that. But he'll listen to the explanation]
Ah... Appletun is a great choice! They're such sweet guys. I could definitely see that for Varian.
no subject
Sure, why not. I can show you the best places in the store. I can keep him entertained.
[ He sees what you did, dear spouse, he SEES, but luckily the sweetness takes the edge off any whining that might have come from that. He smiles, returning the hand squeeze, before pulling the hand gently to his lips to press a kiss to the back of it. ]
Yeah, no one in this or any other world knows me better. I didn't doubt for a second he'd be able to answer everything perfectly.
[He gets butterflies at the reminder that they did, indeed, get married today, his smile turning bigger and more lopsided. Sorry, Flins, you're just gonna have to deal with him gazing sappily at his newlywedded spouse for a few moments.
At least his attention is turned by the Appletun sculpture. He reaches out to take it. ]
You know... that's actually a pretty good call. I might really like zigzagoons [for a second it seems like he's gonna start a Why Not Raccoon argument again, but he slides on past it ] but that explanation really does sound right. That really could work for me. You've got a knack for this.
[Which is about as close as Flins will ever get to Varian admitting that he got the penguin thing dead on the money too. He gives Jun's hand another squeeze. ]
Want me to do the same for you?
Quick order break
Sure! I'm curious to see what answer I'll get.
[He has complete faith that his partner knows him inside and out, so varian controlling it? Sounds fun]
no subject
Excellent!
[Flins laces his fingers together gently in front of him, already high off of getting Varian's approval. He doesn't like to brag, but he does feel like he has a knack for this.]
Very well. We will start with the same question for Jun.
Pick a flavour profile: Sweet, Spicy, Dry, Sour, or Bitter.
no subject
That's an easy one. Sweet. Jun has just about as much as a sweet tooth as I do. Why do you think we have so many sweet treats here? It's definitely mostly for us. We're gonna take all the leftovers and put ourselves into a sugar coma later.
no subject
Mm, he's right. I do enjoy bitter and spicy foods too- but sweet are definitely my favorite.
no subject
[Another sweet tooth--he had a feeling just from that comment alone.]
Excellent. As for your next question: Without thinking, please choose a direction. North, South, East or West.
[This truly tests their bond. How well will Varian know his partner's instincts?]
no subject
[ He knows the cake is more than just the sweetness. It's that someone acknowledged his birthday as a day just for him. To make it a special part of at least someone's day. And honestly? It make the process all the more precious to Varian, too. He loves seeing his partner light up with his terribly decorated creations.]
Asking me not to think is like asking me not to breathe, you do know that right?
[ Still, he'll pick the answer that feels the most right. ]
East. Towards the rising sun. I admit, I don't know all the ins and outs of his faith, but I feel like moving towards the light seems like the right move there.
no subject
[Of course Jun is happy to retell that. Since it's truly a gestured that touched his heart. A cherished memory
At the question Varian gives, he smiles and nods]
I really like that answer, it's very poetic. Plus, you could say that my place of origin is east of here... so I think it fits well.
