WHO: Waver+open
WHERE: Libra + Cygnus Academy
WHEN: October 3rd
WHAT: Plans for the future and definitely not a birthday.
WARNINGS: None
[In a rare video appearance, Waver sat at his desk at the Academy restlessly twirling a pen in his hand.]
Given that precognitive projection seems to herald things going poorly in the near future, we're taking steps to establish a relative safe haven at Cygnus Academy; it may take some time, but the option to seek shelter there will be available as soon as we can find the space and fortify it.
[He set the pen down next to an open notebook, barely visible but full of arcane sigils in different shapes.]
I think I'm going to start pulling back from the University following this semester or the end of this year depending on how difficult transferring everything to another professor ends up being. That said, if anyone needs tutoring or anything similar, I'll be just as available as I am now. But it would be better for both my students and myself if my attention was focused on the Academy instead of spread quite so thin. At least partially to that end, I've decided to take up an apprenticeship with POKEGO--we're already working closely as it is, and it seems the best course of action to properly understand this world. Didn't think they'd admit me for how hacked off they got about the patent fraud. Suppose that's fair. For matters on that front, you can call me Blackthorn if you like.
[Anyway.]
Long story short and bottom line: you'll probably find me here a hell of a lot more often in the future. As for whatever happens this month...all we can do right now is prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
[Muttered almost as an aside:]
If the worst I have to deal with is that fucking skeleton waking me up this morning, that would be great, actually.
[action; cygnus academy]
[When early afternoon hit, Waver spent a considerable amount of time around the building and the grounds. At first it probably looked like aimless wandering, but occasionally he would stop and frown at a notebook in his hand. Then he would trace a shape on the ground with the end of his cane, or against a wall with his fingertip.]
[...Or, perhaps, trying to move a bookshelf with his shoulder to facilitate said sigil-placing.]
Hey- [If someone passing by looked particularly inclined for a brief stint of furniture rearrangement, he'd call out with a small wave.] -think you can help me move this for just a second?

Will this suffice?

[He traced a complex sigil on the wall with one finger, leaving it to glow in a faint green light before sinking into the surface and vanishing.]
That should be all it needs, if you don't mind moving it back? Sorry for the trouble, but... [gesturing to his own everything]
no subject
'Tis no trouble. [...] These were your doing, then? [Said staring looking so deeply into the shelf it was practically through it to the wall.]

I assume it isn't intended to be visible for most. [He tended to be hyper aware of changes both aetherial and not, but since August his detection had become more sensitive. Like it was in his sight again, but tenfold.]

[Which could have meant anything, but the flick of his tail said it was after he was saved.]
no subject
[Yeah, he could certainly reason that out.]
Who knows, maybe it's part of the whole...scales...thing? [what do you even call this] Is it bothering you?

Guess what little Kaisou quirk Ritsuka still hasn't heard about!

Oh, honey.

Unless someone mentioned it on like... Her very first day when it was information overload and look, she's good but not that good.

"Yeah, so everyone's haunted by a skeleton that gives them something or other on their birthday. Which was something I forgot until five in the morning, half awake and trying to convince a startled Servant not to dropkick it out the window."
sort of here

"I mean, I don't think I'd blame him if he did..."

But, more importantly!
"I didn't know it was your birthday, though."

But it was important to Diarmuid. He realized the importance of setting the Bounded Field around the Academy for a safe haven and noticed he had some help with it! Cool! That being handled he had his own duplicitous agenda.
The fruit of which is shown when Waver returned after the field was set and stabilized. An extravagant and well presented bouquet of different colored roses from the very obvious red for his love, white for his gratitude, his reverence. Other colors mixed in being light and dark shades of pink for happiness and signaling their first friendship respectively.
The day didn't need to mean much to Waver so long as Diarmuid was here to remind him of how much he mattered.]

Hey, I'm back-
[At which point he paused halfway through climbing in the window from the fire escape, blinking a few times. That was an awful lot of flowers.]
...uh, Diarmuid?
no subject
They didn't though. Not literally. Instead well Diarmuid would at least help Waver through but the look on his face is one of a man who knew damn well that he did.]
What? Did you expect me not to have anything for you when you returned?
no subject
[Fortunately, he remembered to finish getting through the window at some point while his brain was misfiring.]
I didn't really-...you didn't have to do anything.
no subject
It's your day. Your life is something to be celebrated. I'll do so for you at the very least, but I would much prefer to do so in your beloved company.
no subject
[Waver ducked his head as he accepted the bouquet, unsuccessfully trying to hide how he was turning red all the way to his ears.]
Th-they're beautiful. Thank you.
no subject
Even this is just a small token of my gratitude for all you've done for me. [And in his other hand, he took Waver's.] Thank you for everything. I cherish the past memories we've shared, but I'm eager for us to see the future together.
