WHO: Waver+open
WHERE: Libra + Cygnus Academy
WHEN: October 3rd
WHAT: Plans for the future and definitely not a birthday.
WARNINGS: None
[In a rare video appearance, Waver sat at his desk at the Academy restlessly twirling a pen in his hand.]
Given that precognitive projection seems to herald things going poorly in the near future, we're taking steps to establish a relative safe haven at Cygnus Academy; it may take some time, but the option to seek shelter there will be available as soon as we can find the space and fortify it.
[He set the pen down next to an open notebook, barely visible but full of arcane sigils in different shapes.]
I think I'm going to start pulling back from the University following this semester or the end of this year depending on how difficult transferring everything to another professor ends up being. That said, if anyone needs tutoring or anything similar, I'll be just as available as I am now. But it would be better for both my students and myself if my attention was focused on the Academy instead of spread quite so thin. At least partially to that end, I've decided to take up an apprenticeship with POKEGO--we're already working closely as it is, and it seems the best course of action to properly understand this world. Didn't think they'd admit me for how hacked off they got about the patent fraud. Suppose that's fair. For matters on that front, you can call me Blackthorn if you like.
[Anyway.]
Long story short and bottom line: you'll probably find me here a hell of a lot more often in the future. As for whatever happens this month...all we can do right now is prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
[Muttered almost as an aside:]
If the worst I have to deal with is that fucking skeleton waking me up this morning, that would be great, actually.
[action; cygnus academy]
[When early afternoon hit, Waver spent a considerable amount of time around the building and the grounds. At first it probably looked like aimless wandering, but occasionally he would stop and frown at a notebook in his hand. Then he would trace a shape on the ground with the end of his cane, or against a wall with his fingertip.]
[...Or, perhaps, trying to move a bookshelf with his shoulder to facilitate said sigil-placing.]
Hey- [If someone passing by looked particularly inclined for a brief stint of furniture rearrangement, he'd call out with a small wave.] -think you can help me move this for just a second?

Oh, honey.

Unless someone mentioned it on like... Her very first day when it was information overload and look, she's good but not that good.
no subject
"Yeah, so everyone's haunted by a skeleton that gives them something or other on their birthday. Which was something I forgot until five in the morning, half awake and trying to convince a startled Servant not to dropkick it out the window."
sort of here
no subject
"I mean, I don't think I'd blame him if he did..."
no subject
no subject
But, more importantly!
"I didn't know it was your birthday, though."
no subject
Sometimes you complain about a skeleton and then the whole city knows your birthday. Oh well.
no subject
She does not look the least bit sorry for him. At all.
"Happy birthday, though!"
(Enjoy her taking advantage of the fact that she knows where you live and your counterpart's taste in games to have a surprise package show up from Amazon or whatever in a few days.)
no subject
"...Thanks. I guess I do appreciate that."
no subject
A beat.
"Though I'm guessing you don't want a party?"
no subject
no subject
She really wasn't going to tease him, if he'd given a simple no thanks or something, however...
"But I can't make any promises next year."
no subject
no subject
Ritsuka.
"I bet there's a bunch of people here who'd want to do something if you did have a party, though."
no subject
no subject
"That was because of Gil?"
Somehow, that specific deal hadn't come up when they talked before, and Ritsuka had never thought to ask.
no subject
Because he really did just hate the idea of celebrating his birthday that much.
no subject
"It's hard to be sure when it comes to Gil..."
There's a reason why her default response to someone complaining about the Archer is what did he do.
"Why not give it a chance, though?"
no subject
A shrug.
"Why? I've been mostly ignoring my birthday since I was sixteen, don't see a whole lot of reason to bother with it now."
no subject
Just for the sake of the company and seeing everyone else smile, if nothing else.
"Even if you really are okay with being on your own, if there's other people around anyway it doesn't hurt to do things like that with them."
no subject
He sighed quietly, in practically audible resignation.
"I'll think about it. I guess."
no subject
Unless he suddenly changes his mind about doing one now, that is.
no subject
God forbid he turn a corner and get attacked by confetti.
no subject
Aaaand we're back to teasing.
