WHO: Sorey and y'all!
WHERE: The Libra app
WHEN: Around May 12th
WHAT: Sorey has an exciting announcement to make!
WARNINGS: Shouldn't be anything more than language
[Sorey has been a bit busy lately, but he's cheerful as always when he addresses the network at large. His adorable Comfey, Alice, is a new addition to those who haven't been part of his therapy sessions.]
Hullo, everyone! I'm Dr Sorey Shepard, or Dr Rosewood if you'd prefer. I wanted to let you all know that I've asked Professor Oak, POKEGO's leader, for assistance with the magical college project. Three of our professors have volunteered to help be part of the faculty, so they should be arriving shortly. They'd be Professors Rowan, Juniper, and Sycamore! August and Waver, we can talk about how best to integrate them once they've arrived. I'll be sure to introduce you to each other.
In addition, I'm happy to announce that we would like to extend to Libra users an open invitation to join POKEGO through our apprenticeship program. Only if you want to! This is entirely voluntary. However, it's going to be a lengthy process involving a few background checks and a training program set up by your mentor. You're also free to leave at any point if you feel that it's not a good fit for you. However, should you choose to leave after 'graduating' from an apprentice, you won't be able to come back. Please, keep that in mind before you decide to go through with this. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll answer them as best I can!
[His smile then widens.]
Also, since people have been adopting, or getting adopted by, creatures from the Kanto Spirit Realm, if you have any questions at all about them, please don't hesitate to contact Yuuki Shinomiya! He'll answer all your questions about Pokemon! Professor Oak and I are confident in his knowledge of the creatures.
Thanks for your time, everyone!

Congratulations on the new role, Yuuki!
[Okay moving on, the rest of the post is curious]
But an apprentice program huh...
no subject
[Somehow, he manages to say this with a straight face. Must be a therapist thing.]
Yeah! That's how I got started, in fact. I didn't join POKEGO until was an adult, so I wasn't part of the junior program.
no subject
[That he'll hate every second of, so win-win]
I didn't know that. What was it like? Is it a difficult apprenticeship?

[ A beat, then: ]
Say, can I ask what kind of risks might be involved in this sort of thing? Since the Spirit Realm's a huge part of this and all...
no subject
If you find that you're uncomfortable or afraid, there's no shame whatsoever in asking to stay back. We are always in need of help by way of data compilation, among other tasks.
no subject
[ Sure isn't. She looks intrigued. Her interest piqued with the mention of Pokemon, but Sorey's explanation is pretty convincing. ]
Uh, well? I guess I should check it out and see it for myself... Ever since seeing a Pokemon for the first time, I've been really curious about them, so I'm not opposed to giving it a try, I guess!

Professor Juniper is a very cheerful woman who is more kind-hearted, and encourages students to be adventurous and independent. She's sincere and honest, and I've wanted to aspire to be the kind of teacher she is.
Lastly, Professor Sycamore is a little eccentric, but he's earnest in his desire to help further students in their education. He tends to prefer adding as much practicality to his classes as he can so that students can better understand the subject. I didn't meet him too often since he's normally based in Paris, but he strikes me as a good person and excellent teacher.

I hope they're expecting more than their share of caution from everyone involved. And probably everyone uninvolved.

Being a mentor wasn't really an option for me before, so this will be interesting. I've been with POKEGO since I was sixteen. I'm sure I can contribute something valuable here.
Thanks for handling the announcement, Sorey. As always, you know just the right thing to say.
no subject
I wasn't comfortable being a mentor myself after graduating into a full-fledged member. I mean, I was still in university at the time, you know? However, now that I've graduated and gotten more comfortable with my job, I'm honestly looking forward to the opportunity of being a mentor.
[A-aw, he blushes a little at that.]
Oh, no, it was the least I could do! I know the three of you don't really like public speaking.... Ahem, anyway! How much do you wanna bet that you'll have a second mentee following after Jun?
no subject
Grad school seems like it would be a lot on top of the mentorship program. But now that you're settled and a little more confident, I think you'll do great.
[He thinks Sorey could've done great even right after graduation, but he'll keep that in his back pocket for now.]
I've got a good excuse. The other two just hate people. [lol] A second? Hmm... We'll see how it goes. There's only so many of us, though, so I don't want to turn anyone away.
[Though there is Jun's boyfriend to consider. He tends to follow him around like a bit of a lost puppy.]

Given I have these guys.
[ an image is attached, of a Pikachu and an Applin sitting together under a tree. ]
I've just been feeding them fruit and veggies from my garden, but.
They come from another world, do they require like.
Special food or anything from their native homeworld that I'm not providing?
I'm just worried about the little guys, mostly.

Pokemon eat berries in their natural habitats, even the ones that look like cats and dogs, so fruits and vegetables are fine.

...How uh...extensive is the background check?
[Sorey at least knows WHY that's a big worry for Varian. His past is more checkered than most people his age, and he's aware that as much as he keeps it in the dark over here, if it were to be looked into it would likely close more doors than it would open. But then, there is a reason what POKEGO is going through with him resonates so much. ]
no subject
Extensive. After the Willow incident, we're not taking any chances. First, there'll be a background check run on your time here in Kaisou. Then, there'll be a check done with our seers to make sure there's nothing that was missed, and because we know that those of you who came from other worlds don't have much personal history here. At the end of the check, there'll be a psychological evaluation.
[He thinks for a moment.]

[ The seed has been planted. He's intrigued. ]
And anyone can apply?
no subject
[Sorey scratches his cheek, though.]
But, fair warning, we don't have much in the way of funds to spare. I'm afraid that anything monetary will have to come from your job, or a scholarship if you're going to school currently.

She could just ask the question she has via text, but she does video instead. Please don't mind the pink dragon head attached to the top of her head, he's just an idiot that's along for the ride right now.]
I'm assuming that the training program is something that's a bit personalized for each person and/or what they specifically want to do, but how does it generally go?
no subject
Other than the personalized aspects of the training, every apprentice is expected to have a partner Pokemon to catch with their mentor and learn how to work with them. Testing your bond with the Pokemon, your ability to train it, and your resourcefulness with using its abilities to help you in your research are all part of the final exam.
