( it's almost time for the school to close, and yet mafuyu remains in the music room, working on something quietly. beside her is a laptop with as much of her old music that she could recover from her phone on it as possible, displaying music sheets as she tries to work something out. there's no kanade here- no mizuki or ena, either.



no miku.

she has to do this alone again. and when she gets too close to how she felt when OWN was active, ice creeps along the floor and walls around her. this isn't working out. so she just keeps on trying, ignoring the darkening sky in the window, the sound of footsteps...

sorry, elliot. she's not quite aware of you just yet. )

Almost all of my music serves this purpose. I don't mind it.

( on a surface level, the song sounds... disjointed. like someone on the verge of collapse trying desperately to explain what's happening, but they don't know themselves. like someone's lost, or on the verge of drowning.

it's not entirely a pleasant feeling. on a technical level, it displays her usual skill, of course, but mostly?

mostly it's just as she said she's been feeling: confused and overwhelmed and lost.

mafuyu sits to the side, the very picture of calm. )

[Elliot listens carefully to the melody. Sure enough, it reflects the raging storm that must lie deep in Mafuyu's heart. He can pick up on the feelings, and it hurts to read. Even more, it's sadder to think that he's meant to explain it to her.

Eventually, he's heard enough and turns off the song]

....Well, I can only guess at the meaning, but to me...that song sounded like it was written by someone who feels lost and adrift at sea.

Which considering everything going on...that's a pretty normal feeling to have.

( oh. yes, that makes sense. that sort of feeling has always been there at the back of her mind, but being brought to a new world just made it worse, she thinks. mafuyu nods quietly before looking at the sheets of music before sighing softly. the frost that's creeped its way all over hasn't receded. it never does. )

I'm tired of it.
