Un: Zodiac | Mid-Month Update

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Libra App
WHEN: November 15th
WHAT: Zodiac Network Post
WARNINGS: None!

[We've reached the middle of November. By now, the trip to Duat has been completed, and over the next few days, the sun will slowly start to reappear. It starts with only a little sun at a time each day, but slowly the daylight hours grow until the end of the month it's closer to how it usually is this time of year. But considering the revelations learned during the quest, you probably have some questions. And some mid month, your phone will give a blaring alert sound, indicating a new Zodiac post. As usual, the alert will sound even if you have your phone turned off or on silent, and will take over your phone until you read and comment to the message. The post begins like the previous one had, with notifications of peoples coming and goings]

Cecil Thanatos Eda
Cecil, Thanatos, and Eda have joined the app. Say hi everyone!

[The post then continues on as normal.]

Hello! Thank you for using the Libra App.

First of all, we want to send thanks to everyone who assisted in resolving the crisis in Duat. Our experts have confirmed that the spirit energy around the city is beginning to normalize again, and we should expect a return of the sun and less tears in the near future. It was thanks to your hard work that we were able to find a resolution, and we are truly grateful for that.

Now to speak of the matter at hand. As you all learned, Professor Willow and other associates within P.O.K.E.G.O were responsible for the damage to the Spirit Vein that's caused all the unusual happenings over the past year. After interrogating Professor Willow and several key members, we learned that they did this when they attempted to travel through the Spirit Realm by use of a rare Pokémon called Giratina. Using Giratina caused much more damage to the Spirit Vein than they had anticipated, causing deep cracks within the barriers - which is likely what caused many otherworlders to slip through into this world. Their motive was to try to restore the Kanto Realm that they remember from a past life to it's former status as a full world, or travel to an alternate version of it.

We'd like you to know that Zodiac had no knowledge of P.O.K.E.G.O's actions or true motives. We had hired the Professor and his associates as private contractors and advisers after they approached us and offered assistance in Spirit Realm research. Upon reflection, we have reason to believe they did so in order to better monitor Zodiac's and your activities. We have immediately severed ties with all members of P.O.K.E.G.O known to be part of Professor Willow's plan. As for the organization of P.O.K.E.G.O, not all members were part of this, so they are currently undergoing internal review and reform. Perhaps we will revisit working with them again in the future, but for now our business relations have been put hold.

Professor Willow has recovered from the injury suffered in Duat, and is currently within our custody as we try to navigate what we can do about him. Unfortunately, none of his crimes are punishable by law due to the legal system not applying to supernatural incidents, so that avenue is unavailable to us. We are also aware that many of you, especially the otherworlders, have suffered due to Professor Willow's callous actions. As such, we'd be interested in hearing what you think would be proper justice for this situation. We will take your input under advisement and act from there.

Finally, we're still sorting out at Zodiac what this will mean for efforts to resolve the situation moving forward. We need more time to assess the new information, perform our own internal reviews, and make a plan for the future moving forward. We wish we could give you clearer answers at this moment, but unfortunately we don't have them yet. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

This post has no sponsors.

[Users will have the option to choose their own display names and user pics if they haven't already. If nothing is chosen, the app will use their real name and a quick photo taken of them from their camera's phone.Like always, there'll be no responses from Zodiac.

Starting today the sun will begin returning in the sky! It'll be only for a short amount of time each day, but slowly the days will increase until it's back to normal by the end of the month. NPCs will slowly stop noticing things as well. That said, continue commenting and backtagging the event log! It'll be around all month! ]

As much as I love a sunset on a chilly autumn day I might be the odd one out in saying that I like the long night hours. With little sun there is no chance that I'll get a sun spot or dark spot on my skin. Moonlight is a great for preserving a youthful look, if you didn't know.

[Okay, Snow White.]

In light of recent events, though... How many of you own these "Pokémon"?

I guess that's one upside to no sun...

[Xingqiu please]

I have one. He's a Sylveon.

Imagine getting a tan? Or worse? A sun burn?

What is a Sylveon? It sounds like a type of french cake.

I've gotten both. They really aren't that bad.

[He'll send Xingqiu a picture of his sylveon, chilling in his bedroom]

Watch out, Jun. You might be aging faster than you think.

Alright... Those things are a bit cute.

I still get carded for PG-13 movies, so that would be nice if true.

Mm. Alisa is a bit spoiled, but he's very sweet.

I think I'll pass.

Do you have to care for the thing like a dog? Treats? Walks? Picking up feces?

Closer to a cat or a fox but...yes. It is an animal, so you do have to feed it and clean up after it sometimes.

I suppose it does make up for that with being cute...

How did you get it?

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2022-11-16 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
There's a spirit realm you can find in the city, full of Pokémon. I went there once and Alisa approached me because I had some food he likes.

We could go there, if you're interested.

That sounds incredibly lucky that a wild animal came right up to you. Then you just took it home.

I'm not entirely sure I want one for myself, I'm only curious since I've seen them more often lately. And this whole... Giratina? Thing.

Haha, I know. My luck seems to work that way sometimes.

Ah, right. That makes sense. Well, I can't say I know anything about Giratina. This is my first time hearing about that kind too.

Is that so? What makes you say that?

Sunlight brings about damage to the skin, Hu Tao.

And I've never been great with sunburns.

I don’t know. I think a tan would look good on you.
feiyun: <user name=michrure> (pic#15666219)

[personal profile] feiyun 2022-11-16 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Are you joking? Chongyun, maybe. But certainly not me.
localweirdo: (pic#15772822)

[personal profile] localweirdo 2022-11-16 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Of course not!

I think you would look rather lovely with a tan! I think Chongyun would agree.
feiyun: <user name=michrure> (pic#15666209)

[personal profile] feiyun 2022-11-16 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
What makes you think I'd look good with a tan? I didn't spend years perfecting my skin only to burn it.

[Sorry, he's a bit of a drama queen in this AU life.]
localweirdo: (Juicy)

[personal profile] localweirdo 2022-11-16 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
Because I think you would! You have to try something new once in a while. You can't stay in a box forever.

[personal profile] feiyun 2022-11-18 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes I can and I will. There's no reason to mess with something like my appearance when I'm happy with the way I look.

Although now that I think about it... My hair is almost as long as yours now, Hu Tao.
localweirdo: (In The End)

[personal profile] localweirdo 2022-11-19 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
If you are that stubborn, then I can't argue with that. Although, I would think that changing things up once in a while could be good.

...Then should I do something about your hair?

[Cale had honestly thought he was the only one who kind of preferred it like this, with no sun. It's a little relieving to hear someone else be so open about preferring it like this.]

I do agree that it is a bit nicer, not having the sun around. Although I hadn't heard of anything about moonlight being great for preserving a youthful look.
feiyun: <user name=michrure> (pic#15666213)

[personal profile] feiyun 2022-11-18 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Let's all act like we're half vampires, to be honest.]

Oh, you haven't? It's more about the sun being harmful for the skin. I'd rather avoid dark spots. Moonlight highlights the skin better than sunlight, too. At least in my opinion.
alwaysbeentrash: (pic#16053234)

[personal profile] alwaysbeentrash 2022-11-22 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Dark spots, huh? Those are rather annoying and better avoided.

[Cale is a bit vain about his appearance, although he doesn't always go out of his way to improve it. But, point taken in regards to sun exposure.]

I'll have to be more careful when the sun eventually returns.
