WHO: Anna and anyone!
WHERE: Libra app network
WHEN: Now!
WHAT: Newbie alert
WARNINGS: Possibly Snow White's abusive stepmother situation in that thread with her, otherwise none expected?
[The video begins with a "Starting Soon~" screen like one might see livestreamers using, with custom art of a unicorn racing along the bottom. The corner of the screen says "Annacorn" in pretty cursive.
After a moment, the screen transitions to live video and a young woman is sitting in front of a computer, with a wall behind her decorated in sunflower decals and a neon sign that also reads "Annacorn" - it's her online handle, the name of her vlogging channel and her livestreaming account. She's a variety streamer who enjoys singing, dramatically telling stories, and occasionally playing games, and while she's definitely nowhere near a million subscribers, she's got enough of a following to pay her bills, so people may or may not recognize her.]
Oh!! Okay. Well this is... New. This app. Uh. Is everyone here from Kaisou? I just moved here. And the app just showed up on my phone. Is that weird? Is it normal? Somewhere in between?
And whiiiile I'm here, if anyone has any store recs for shopping for furniture and household essentials, I'd love the help!

--Oh. Heh. Wellll, she probably knows I'm here. [No negative thoughts, nope, none, keeping things nice and cool here!!] But don't worry, I've got my own place! It's super cute. Two bedrooms too! You should come over and see how you like it, we could even have a slumber party!
[There are absolutely no lies here, okay? She has to tell mostly the truth to keep the headaches at bay. Thanks, unicorn possession.
True, she's not revealing her plan and hope to gain guardianship of Snow to save her from her abusive stepmother yet, BUT, that's because she'd rather have that conversation in person, and also wants to be sure Snow likes the place where she may be living in the near future!]

no subject
...ah, she doesn't want to put Snow to work or anything, though. Then again, she does seem to genuinely like baking and it could be a fun activity to do together?
Plus, you know, chocolate cake at the end of it all. That's too tempting.]
Only if you want to! I can totally give you an assist. Just tell me what to do and we'll break in my brand new kitchen with some baking!

Yes! I'd love to hear about how school is going and all the friends you've made... Oh, I guess we should probably do it over the weekend then, because of school. Should I send you my address or do you want me to pick you up from school on Friday?
no subject
Anna! Anna I've made so many! I've never had so many human friends before! [Why yes, she absolutely needs to specify that since... well, she's her.] And they're all so sweet and kind and I've been doing everything I can to help out my school as well! I'm running for the student council!
Yes, that would be lovely... though... I do have to ask stepmother first, but I'm sure she would love a weekend away from me! We can decorate your home as well! There are so many beautiful fall decorations we could fill your home with!
no subject
I'm so glad! You deserve all the friends, you know. And I bet you'd make a great, um, whatever position in the student council that you're running for.
I'd love that!

We'll have to go grocery shopping too. You can't just survive on chocolate, cousin of mine. [She giggles.]

Kaisou aside, he's never been outside of his Kingdom, so he's never met the woman on the screen, but he's still a member of Corona's royal court. Much as he finds that side of his job horribly boring, he did at least try to pay a little attention to who the important people outside their little Kingdom were. ]
...Aren't you the queen of Arendelle?
[She knows what phones are and has asked for "recs" and obviously has this entire...Annacorn set up. It's clear she's one of those other lives, but the question just comes out of him before he can stop it. ]
no subject
Wait, what?]
Uhh... I... Have, like, zero clue what that is, I'm sorry. I mean I've been a whole lot of places in my life, but I've definitely never heard of... Arendelle?
I'm definitely not Queen of anything either. I'm just... me? Anna "Annacorn" Albrecht? Maybe you're mixing me up with someone else?
no subject
Oh um...sorry. My mistake. You look exactly like the queen of another Kingdom in my world. Not mine. Just. Another one.
[Flawless. Look how smooth he made that!]
So um. Furniture! That question! There's this place called IKEA, but it's...kinda cursed a little bit. It's easy to get lost in it, but it's got lots of furniture there.
no subject
[She does look ready to believe this, to be fair, but she just wants to be sure she understood that correctly, 100%. She knows about the paranormal, she's been a thousand places, but she hasn't yet met someone from an entirely different world.]
Um. So. When you say "cursed"...
[Round two, electric boogaloo:]
Like, really truly cursed?
no subject
[He doubts Corona would sound familiar to her if Arendelle doesn't - but he might be hoping for a tiny glimmer of recognition all the same. ]
I mean... probably not literally cursed. Except for the whole...getting lost in it thing. But I'm not sure if that's just part of the building design or actual magic at work. People I've asked from this time period seem pretty undecided on that one.
[He's still leaning towards truly cursed himself. ]

[She laughs at herself, and nods.]
That would be, well, helpful. Have you been to many places around the city yet?
no subject
(Even though Isabela did hate people seeing her as just a pretty perfectionist golden child, she does take some pride on ensuring that she does look really good even with her pollen hair dye situation and more vibrantly colorful outfits these days.)
So far, I have seen a couple of groceries and some furniture stores at the Midtown area. There is one place that sells an amazing range of beddings at affordable prices. And there is an IKEA that is very large in square feet space and has tons of home stuff and a food market too.
no subject
She takes some notes on her phone as Isabela speaks, nodding.]
Got it! Thanks!
So Isabela, where are you originally from? If you don't mind me asking, that is. I've been a lot of places so I'm always really curious!

But hi, welcome. I've actually watched some of your streams before, so it's cool getting to meet you. I'm Moana. And it's been a while, but I think I remember some of the places my mom had gotten stuff when we first moved here, so I can send you a list if you need.
no subject
How long have you lived in Kaisou then, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject
Just hit two years back in August. My family moved here from Hawaii just in time for me to start high school.
no subject
[She laughs, then asks gently:]
Do you miss it? I know it's definitely a big change in weather from there to here!
no subject
Hmm, yeah, I do miss it. I had a bit of a tough time adjusting when I first moved here. [ She shrugs a little. ] But being here hasn't been too bad.
Video; un: Opera_Ghost
Yeah, I'm from Kaisou. Everyone on this app is in Kaisou, although people are from all sorts of places.
[Even other universes.]
It's weird, but 'just showing up on our phones' is how all of us got the app, so it happens a lot.
no subject
When he initially pops on screen, she looks surprised, but maybe not as surprised as one would think a newbie would be.]
Hi! Oh, I wasn't expecting anyone else touched by the supernatural to be on the app. Uh, you have, haven't you? Or did I just stick my foot in my mouth? I did hear that Kaisou has sort of its own undercity...

[Personally, he suspects there's a lot more to it than that, but it certainly does let people with ties to the supernatural connect.]

[Doesn't... doesn't she recognise this woman? Jane definitely did not only start this conversation so she can get a better look at her.]
I am sure that I've seen you somewhere before.
no subject
Oh! Well, it could be from my videos or livestreams? Or maybe we've seen each other someplace else? I have traveled a lot in my life. My parents make documentaries about different world cultures, their customs and their food... Stuff like that!
no subject
[Wait.]
Oh! Your livestreams! Someone who comes into my shop is always watching you. She's shown me your videos a few times. [Jane's expression breaks into a smile.] I'm sure I can recommend a few shops that might carry what you're looking for.

[But!]
I do know my way up and down the high street, though.

[ Now give him just a moment to take all that in. Well put together room, intro screen saver, Annacorn in brilliant neon letters... moment of envy here, maybe he needed a neon name sign... ]
Hey... the kids I used to watch streamed your content all the time. They loved that song you sang all the time. You know, that really bright and happy one that drives adults crazy but keeps the kids busy for hours!
no subject
[She laughs, but gives an apologetic smile.]
Oh, no! I hope I didn't drive you too nuts! There are a few like that. I pretty much only sing happy stuff.
[If she sang stuff that was too sad it would likely give her a headache, thanks to her possession contract.]
I bet it was The Lucky Duck, or The Unicorn Maiden, though. I think they've got the most views on my channel right now.
no subject
That's it! It was that duck song! All day, every day, lucky duck down on his luck looking for a friend. It was maddening!
[ And maybe it hit a little too close to home but how many people had best friends really? ]
The kids were big fans though. If they hadn't moved I would put them on, let them say hello.
no subject
That's sweet. Uh, well, not the part where I drove you nuts with my singing, but it's really nice you enjoy watching kids! And that they were fans!
Video; un; spacekid
I guess a little of both? But then again this is a place where the weird is normal.
no subject
So, anyway, normal and weird are pretty relative!
no subject
You'll probably be fine. Like I said, all kinds of crazy stuff happens here and most people barely even notice.
[If the city could handle his first few accident prone months with his powers without noticing, Danny was willing to believe that almost anything could avoid notice. ]

Hey! Welcome to Kaisou! It's super cool to see a fellow content creator on here!
[He waves at the screen with a dorky grin.]
Pretty sure the app is a local thing but I only got it a few months ago and I've lived here my whole life. I thiiiiink it has something to do with weird stuff going on lately?
no subject
Like... Supernatural weird stuff?

Estate-sales-dot-net. Dead people have the best stuff. And it's way cheaper than new stuff. But you've gotta get to the house early to line up, or else all the good stuff will be picked over.
[ ...While sound advice, "dead people have the best stuff" is not the persuasive selling point Alberto thinks it is. Disconcerting child right off the bat... ]
no subject
That is... Definitely not an avenue I would have thought to take! I... Uh. Thank you?
Do you... Have a lot of need for, uh... Dead people furniture?
no subject
[ He turns his camera around to show off the spread of deliberate chaos that is his living room. ]
I didn't get everything at estate sales — I've got a yard sale site I go on, too — buuut all the coolest stuff I've found, I've found at estate sales. Like this!
[ He zooms in to show their television set and the collection of VHS tapes and surrounding myriad doodads (yes, including all those unplugged obsolete novelty telephones, and the typewriter, and the random toys, and the, and the, and the—); the TV, though obviously on its last leg in life, seems to be functional still, as it so happens to be playing Hitchcock's the Birds while Alberto films — just to make this scene even more unsettling... ]
I got this super cool TV and a bunch of HVS tapes at an estate sale for like... twenty bucks. I've never seen a TV like this in a store, and the ones in the stores are all like a hundred times more expensive! And they don't even have a VRC in them like this one. Wayyy better for like a third of the price. And I gave twenty dollars to a sad old lady, which is probably a good thing.
[ ...He's speaking like he's got the jump on cutting-edge technology right here. Nevermind that his math is quite questionable. And that he's got his acronyms all wrong. And while the remark about the sad old lady is a sweet sentiment, it's not the typical selling point for a thirty-year-old television... This seems like an exceedingly normal, in-touch, modern human child, yup. Very impressive stuff. ]
