WHO: Will Solace and anyone else
WHERE: Network
WHEN: Probably some time in the morning on 9/18
WHAT: WHERE AM I and other small matters
WARNINGS: Probably language from other people, in as far as the language filter will allow
[Will looks mildly exasperated when he finally gets the app to work. The instruction book only helps so much when you're ADHD and dyslexic, and the child-friendly... theme of the app isn't helping in the slightest.]
Hi... I'm Will, and I think I feel more lost out of that labyrinth than when I was in it.
[He can't help looking behind his shoulder for a moment. Just... making sure Bull Man didn't follow him out. If the Minotaur is even in there in the first place.]
So, I've got a lotta questions, but two are more pressing to me. First, has anyone seen a guy around 15, really dark hair that's kinda unkempt, dark eyes, goth aesthetic, and generally looks grumpy at the entire concept of life?
Second, is there a way to make this app less... busy? Like a greyscale mode or a way to change the font? I mean, I like colors, but this is a lot.
[Hello, world! Here's another teenager.]

[Will is trying though, and he's even got Amal thinking! Which is a feat!]
Vaporized. Hah. Thankfully the society of the ancients wasn't quite that violent, but in my opinion, a little violence probably would have helped with some of their emotional baggage.
So you're implying that your father is a god. Interesting... [Will is way better company than Zenos though, to be fair. Emet-Selch does not have a great track record with family members.] What's his name? Maybe I met some version of him. No promises, though.

That's interesting. That's not something that happens for us, I don't think. It's more that history repeats. Events from the old stories that kinda echo out from the past into our present.
[Will doesn't think he'll ever forget how frequently the Second Titan War echoed The Iliad. It still sends a shiver down his spine, wondering if he'll be next to tread down an old path when....
He stops that thought before he really gets stuck in his head.]
Anyway, um... Yeah, I'm a demigod. My Dad's Apollo. Let's see if I can remember all of his domains. [Will takes a deep breath.] The sun, medicine, archery, prophecy, truth, knowledge, reasoning, light, and, in certain circles, the protection of children.
[Man, he hopes he nailed it.]
I'll double-check and let you know if I missed one or if I nailed it.

Apollo... nope, can't say I've met him. But most of those things sound like the domain of Azeyma, who's worshiped in the West. There's a theory that she might've been based off of an ancient but no proof of that yet.
Does your dad travel a lot? Make a lot of friends? Summon them for adventures?
no subject
[Will can't help chuckling at that.]
Depends on your definition of friends. That said, yes, he travels a lot. Comes with driving the sun chariot. He's good at making friends, though, and... more adult friends. There's a reason Dad has a lot of kids, and not all of us were born with a mortal mom as the other parent. He might as well be the patron god of bisexuals, if I'm being honest. Anyway, uh, not sure about summoning people for adventures, but he did summon his twin sister's Roman aspect once?

[This kid. He understands.]
Hmm... I don't remember Azem having a chariot. I feel like that would have come up at some point... [He scratches at his chin.] Patron god of bisexuals? I could get behind that. It must be rough if he's your dad, though—I never knew mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had kids everywhere he went, too. Sailors and all. I'm not sure if summoning an aspect counts but... maybe?
Also, can I ask what a Roman is? I have a feeling you're not talking about someone getting too fresh on a date.

[Will definitely gets it.
He shrugs slightly.]
I mean, in a way it can be. Dad was a little more willing to answer our prayers than the other gods, though. And I love all of my siblings. That being said, he's definitely changed after his quest as a mortal teenager. I'm holding onto the hope that it's a permanent change. It'll be nice to at least talk to him more often, y'know?
[That makes him laugh so hard, holy Hera.]
N-no, oh, gods. So, there used to be a huge empire called Rome, like, thousands of years ago. After they conquered Greece, they took three Greek gods and kinda... Converted them into gods that fit their image. Their base personality was the same, for the most part, but significant parts of them became more Roman ideals. Most even had their names changed. Apollo's stayed the same, but his sister's name changed from Artemis to Diana.
Hades is maybe a better example I can pull from cause I know both of his kids. Well, one of them I'm closer to than the other. Anyway, Nico is a son of Hades and he's got a lot of powers over death. However, his sister, Hazel? She's a daughter of his Roman self, Pluto, and Rome put more emphasis on his wealth domain. So, she got a lot of power over the earth and whatever's considered valuable underneath the earth.

[He can't imagine what having a relationship with a father is like. The closest he's seen recently is Erichthonios and that whole... debacle. He hasn't even met Lahabrea yet in Elpis and he already hates the guy.]
A quest as a mortal teenager? That sounds pretty life-changing. Uh, literally. Good luck with all that, though, seriously.
[He thinks he might've made a joke without meaning to. The history lesson is interesting, though. Amal has always had an interest in stories, though from more of a bard perspective than G'raha's fascination with Allagan history. He never thought he himself would be in one, that's for sure.]
So they basically colonized the gods? Interesting choice... [He nods as Will details the differences between Hades and Pluto.] Sounds like two sides of the same coin. There's one of the Twelve that the Eorzeans worship who is like that, but the name escapes me. I'm starting to wonder if there's a connection after all—the similar names thing is really strange.
I think I get it now. Thanks for explaining!

[Will admittedly isn't the norm for demigods and their parents.]
Yeah, I'll let him tell you the whole story if he gets here. He's... done with his quest, but, uh, my boyfriend and I were just about to discuss our quest before I got here.
[Into Tartarus. Something he's going to avoid talking about for as long as possible. Will knows he's not going to regret going along with Nico into its depths, but it's certainly a daunting prospect.
He kind of brightens at how Amal puts that.]
That's a pretty good way of looking at it! And a horrible one. [wait] Oh, you have twelve gods, too? I mean, we have twelve Olympians, they were the most popular, and Greece had hundreds of other gods for like... almost everything.
[No, wait, focus on the topic, Solace!]
Ah, but you're welcome! I'm happy to help.

[Congrats Will, now you know something most other people don't know!]
It all sounds fascinating, to be sure. I love hearing about adventures. I could certainly tell you a few of my own sometime, but I don't have my lute on me at the moment!
[His eyebrows rise.]
There's twelve of these major gods you've mentioned...? Interesting. I'm not an expert, like I said, as they're not the gods from my homeland. Not that I swear to any. But there are others here who know far more about all that. Rhel would probably be best; she's pleasantly bookish and I'm sure she'd love to know all about your Olympians.
There's always a chance that what were divine names in your world were just common names in mine, long ago. Perhaps there were two thousand little magical kids named Apollo or somesuch, all because there was someone popular by that name a few years prior.

[There are way too many tragic examples.]
I'm by no means a good singer, but I think I'm a decent storyteller. I'd be happy to swap stories with you later!
[Will seems interested, and he's definitely making a note of this Rhel character. Learning more about these other worlds and their cultures sounds worthwhile to him, even if he won't remember it back home.]
I'll keep her in mind, for sure. And you can ask me about mine anytime. We more... respect and honor them than outright worship them.
Anyway, I'm not sure if the Apollo I know would've been thrilled by that or not! He definitely would've loved to know he was so popular across worlds.
[He sounds amused.]

I look forward to your stories, though!
[Amal chuckles softly.]
Should he show up, I'll take care not to inflate his ego overmuch.

One fear: Percy and Amal friendship.] They're the cards we've been dealt. We can only do the best we can, even if the deck's stacked against us, and pray we either survive to adulthood or at least make a difference.[Will laughs.]
You're about four thousand years too late for that! He's... not for everyone, certainly, but he's my Dad. Part of me hopes he'll show up.
[The other part dreads having to deal with Apollo complaining about being made mortal again when he just got his god status restored.]
