Yeah! I'm used to making a lot of friends! It's nice that I can make a lot of new friends here too.

This time, it's Luffy's turn for a long pause. It's a heavy subject. One that's precious, dear to his heart, but still painful. Time hasn't fully healed this scar for him, even if it's been 10 years. But it has to get less painful at some point, right?

I'll tell you about Sabo some other time. When it's less painful and less sad. Sabo is a sad story and I want to focus on happier things, for now.

I never had any friends outside my sisters before coming here. It's something that took some getting used to.

I was all alone except for Shanks and Makino until I was 7. I had the villagers but no one really talked to me or acknowledged me.

Then I had my brothers, up until I turned 14 and Ace sailed away!

It sucks being alone. I'm glad you have new friends here!

It's nice meeting new people here and making a lot of friends.

But there's still a hint of wistfulness to his words. He can make friends anywhere, fit in anywhere, but he's still a kid at heart, far away from the home he'd made for himself.

Are your sisters here, too? You mentioned that cool little dude was your nephew right?

He doesn't get it, at all. If this was a video call, he'd be nodding and smiling and talking about mysteries. He'll be doing only one of those things that Bruno will know about.

Anything he doesn't get is usually chalked up to a "mystery".

And it's fine, Luffy isn't really equipped to comfort him just yet. He's happy to just let that conversation just drop for now, at least sensing that it's a topic of discomfort for him.
