Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great summer. I'm pretty done with this hot weather myself, but at least the beach vacation was nice! Well.....part of it, anyway.

Anyway, so I wanted to ask about something. How many of you have been getting unusual memories you can't explain? And if you have, have you noticed any pattern to how they're triggered?

I don't think my life in this world is fake or anything like that, but I have to admit I am curious about what these memories mean, so I'd like to know if there's a way to trigger them more.

Past lives or, I dunno, we have all the isekais right? So other worlds are a thing?

Yeah, they are. I know a fair amount of them.

I've heard some of them think our memories have been tampered with...but I don't think that's accurate either.

Far as I can tell, they're triggered by experiencing similar things.
Back in May's realm a couple of us found out the ruins could trigger them if we explored ones we'd seen in memories.
But other than that I haven't been able to trigger any on purpose.
Guess it could be possible to figure out what might trigger them as we learn more about these other versions of us though.

I remember that realm. My friend and I found some ruins that related to our memories too.

Doing something similar might be difficult for me though. My memories seems to be about a student in high school, and I graduated years ago.

The similarities don't have to be exact.
Like I was petting a shadow bird and remembered fighting a bird guy who also had a shadow bird.

[Most of his memories... he's not going to share. But that one is fine.]

It could be past lives.
Could be another world.
Could be both.
The places I've seen there don't line up with anything here.

i dont think kaisou has any devil hunters in general
unless theyre REALLY good at hiding

there was the time my past self definitely took a sword to the stomach
didnt die or anything
wasnt my first time either
i was mad as hell tho
so i tore it out and just
threw it back into whoever did that to me
i threw it back into their stomach p sure
that wasnt from anyone rly
another memory was traveling literally upwards in like
a blood stream
it was weird and gross
epitome of 'thanks i hate it' basically
that was definitely a nightmare

so yeah
definitely had some big ones not from seeing/hearing shit

"Unusual" is one way to put it. The kraken was practically normal compared to some of what I've remembered. Still, Occam's Razor suggests that some supernatural force is giving us bleedover from past lives since that's the least in the realm of conspiracy theory bullshit.

I looked in the mirror one morning and was hit with the memory of being trapped in one by the mirror world version of myself. [A pause, and then more quietly, mostly to himself:] ...I refuse to lose to him a second time if he tries anything in this life.

Hmm... I haven't really had much of them, but do you think it works like a radio? Like when you dial it just right, you get a station, because you're on the same number.

I met a guy who knew some other guy just like me from another world, and kind of got a weird... vision thing? So maybe him being here is like an antenna....?

I dunno. Maybe the other guy and me are just really similar so we're getting stuff from each other.

You know that would make a lot of sense. Exposure to familiar stimuli might be causing a resonance in ourselves that triggers the memories. The memories do seem to come easier when I'm around my friend who knew me in that other life as well.

So maybe it is a matter of dialing into the correct frequency. And it's just challenging because we don't know the station frequency.

Kinda like how stuff you never thought about before suddenly starts feeling familiar. [when u see a large box and have an instinctual urge to push it and see if there's treasure back there....!!]

Or maybe the other 'us' have to be doing something similar in the other world?

I noticed it whenever I saw some of my family members from another world? I know that I was supposed to be living in a big house with them but...

I've been getting a lot of memories I can't explain. I haven't noticed a pattern to what triggers them, though. One was triggered by my cat staring at my face and purring, one was triggered by looking at an axe, another was triggered by someone mentioning a demon world...all the memories themselves tie into whatever triggered them, though.

So familiar stimuli triggers the memories...but since we don't remember, we don't know what the stimuli is.

Have you had any luck with the whole, uh, turning into demon, Professor?

If you mean turning back from a demon...then no. If you mean finding ways to manage despite now being a demon, then...somewhat, and slowly improving.

...so in your flashbacks, are you a cat? Because I'm a demon in all the flashbacks I've gotten.

I've had those memories too. They often seem to show up when I've seen or done something new.

Hmm... [How to describe them, there have been a few since the Spirit Realm adventures started.]

Some involve me doing whatever activity I was working on at the time, but in a different place. But most are about people who I've never seen before but I feel certain they're my friends.

...Also a talking wolf is there.

[NOT ALL OF THEM ARE GOOD MEMORIES, but at least having friends around seems to be a common thread.]
