The last month of the school year is always a busy one! Let's do our best and make some lifelong memories!

Spring Concert (May 6th)

For the past few weeks, anyone enrolled in music class at Kaisou High School have been hard at work preparing for the spring concert. The music teacher, Elliot Craig, while ordinarily a nice teacher has basically gone all friendly drill sergeant on his students, working them very hard to make sure the concert is the best it can be. Sweat, tears, and possibly blood has been shed throughout the whole process. But now its finally here. The school bands and choirs perform for all their friends and family to see. And other than a huge typical hiccups here and there, it goes pretty well! Perhaps you want to deep dive into your experiences preparing for the concert, or for the big night itself.

Prom (May 7th)

With the concert out of the way, it's time for the big dance! This year prom has the theme "A Time to Remember" (whatever that means) and is being held at a dance hall at the Gold Saucer in the entertainment district! Put on your nicest prom dress, grab a date or a friend, and come down to this keystone high school event. There's plenty of space in the venue for students to dance to their favorite school-approved bops or hang out by the wall awkwardly! And of course there's a punch bowl and snacks available that are being watched by teacher chaperones. While gambling is technically illegal for many of the kids, the more crafty kids might find a way to ditch the party and try to check out the other entertainment the Gold Saucer has to offer. Just be careful not to get caught! Detention's in your fate if you don't watch yourself.

Finals (Throughout May)

Unfortunately there's two sides of every coin. With all the fun of proms, also comes the pain of finals. Prepare for finals the best way you can - make study groups, guzzle 5-hour energy drinks, pull all-nighters, or get a good night sleep! Finals come in many forms from standard exams to presentations to long essays to the ever dreaded group projects. Some grades have it bad enough to make you want to scream, but try to power through as best as you can! Exams results for classes are posted on the wall outside their classroom, listed by ID number to keep it anonymous, but you can at least you can bring a friend to find out if you achieved that A or are doomed to a semester of summer school.

Graduation & End of the School Year (End of May)

Finally once all the finals are said and done, it's time to wrap up the end of the school year. Graduation for the characters in their senior year will take place May 29th. The graduation ceremony is a pretty standard affair with a speech from the Valedictorian and a keynote speaker that is just whoever they could get -- this year being Professor Willow. He gives a very long speech about always being open to exploring and pushing boundaries. It'd be a bold and inspirational speech, but it's undercut by the times he goes off on tangent to talk about Pokemon. So you know, standard graduation affair. Throw your cap in the air and take photos with your friends and family! You did it!

For the rest of the grades that aren't graduating, the last day of school is May 31st. The last week of classes is less actual lessons, and more about cleaning up the school (classrooms, clubrooms, and lockers) as well as going on various field trips such as to the zoo and the park. Students will also get their yearbooks, so you can have your friends sign and wish each other a great summer. On the final day of school, all students are invited to a picnic where you can eat grilled food, sit in the sun, and play frisbee and other sports. Have a great summer everyone!

OOC Notes

This is a catch-all log for high school related activities that take place at the end of the year! Follow along with the prompts or make up your own! Talent Shows, school plays, senior parties, senior pranks - you name it! This is meant to be pretty open-ended, so go wild!

Note: The Spring Concert and Prom are taking place in game BEFORE La Llorona starts becoming rather noticeable and the Spirit Gate appears, so you can party in peace.

Yeah, that's fair! But you can get to know some of us! [ At least the group of them that had come together.

With a small smile, she holds her hand out to him even farther. ]

I'm sure you can! Come on, let's give it a try. We'll be far enough back that people won't see us. Just for a little bit, and if you really hate it we can stop and come back here and you can sit for the rest of the dance, okay?

I mean...I guess. There's that. I'm not really used to having...uh... peers?

[He's still looking at her hand like he's considering just making a break for it and if she'd chase him if he tried. Also his likelihood of escape. Hrmmm, he thinks she could probably outrun him.

Relenting, awkwardly, he takes her hand.]

Ooookay, but when I inevitably step on your feet, you were warned. Just saying.

[ There's something about his statement that leaves her wondering, but she feels this might not be the best time to ask about it.

Someday, though.

He's chosen wisely, though, because she can totally run him down. With a smile, she leads him onto the dance floor, away from the bigger crowd of students. ]

Ah, one of those, huh? Just do what I do, and take little steps.

[ As she releases his hand, she demonstrates what she means as she starts to move along with the music. Her movements are certainly more with her arms and hips, and if she does move her feet its with small half-steps. ]

[That's definitely an another time sort of conversation. One that probably requires snacks and blanket forts. It's not a fun story.

For now, he lets himself be led onto the dance floor, looking like he'd rather be literally anywhere than here right now. ]

Definitely one of those. Two left feet and everything.

[Okay so he can definitely do better with the arm movements than he can with his feet. He's still clunky and awkward though, focusing on her movements and trying his best to match them. His tongue might be sticking out a tiny bit as he does so. ]

[ She'll be down to listen whenever it comes up. But for now she concentrates on helping him feel a little more comfortable on the dance floor. ]

Ah. Well lucky for you [ or maybe unlucky in this case ] I have experience teaching people with two left feet how to dance.

[ She keeps her moves simple, exaggerating them just a bit so he can follow along easily enough while still managing to keep in time with the music. ]

Don't worry as much about the moves themselves, and focus more on the music.

Hah, I might be your biggest challenge yet, just saying.

[He's trying his very best to awkwardly and stumblingly match her motions. He's not doing terribly, but he definitely lacks a natural rhythm. ]

Right...right, the music. I'm nooot sure how that really...correlates with the moves without concentrating on them though. This is had.

Honestly, you'd be surprised.

[ She's met some really awkward people, and even with his movements it's definitely not the worst she's seen. ]

The moves will come in time. For now just listen to the music, and feel the rhythm. You might find that you'll want to make up moves of your own.

Ooookaaaaay, but I'm gonna remind you that you said this after I accidentally mangle your foot.

[He's doing his best here, a nervous laugh bubbling out of him.]

Trust me, I'm not gonna be that inventive, this is definitely a crawl before I can walk scenario.

[ She laughs a little. ] You wouldn't be the first.

[ She isn't really talking about any big moves, but she won't push it, instead just letting him get used to the music and the rhythm. ]

Even so, I think you're doing great.

[He's doing his best!!! He's even managing to do something that's...not really dancing still but it's in the correct ballpark of dancing.]

Really? You're not just saying that to stop me from making a break for it?

[ Her lips quirk in a bit of a mischievous smile. ]

It miiiiiight be a little of both?

[ At least she's honest? ]

[Okay, that gets a little laugh out of him.]

I guess it can be a little of both. This one time.

[ With a laugh of her own, she does a little twirl around him. ]

But be honest. It's not so terrible, right?

[Bold move, Moana, it's a small miracle he doesn't trip her up honestly.]

Okay, it's not the worst thing I ever experienced.

[Varian, you have literally been to prison. ]

[ It's a good thing she's light on her feet. With a grin, she bows a little as the song comes to an end. ]

I'll take that.

[He's glad for the end of the song, though even by his own admission it wasn't the worst thing ever. Maybe if pressed, he could even admit it was kinda fun.]

Hah, glad to hear it. Thanks, that...was okay.

[ With a grin, Moana nods and gestures towards the edge of the dance floor back where the tables are, offer for them to sit back down. ]

Sure. And thank you too, for dancing with me.

[He chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Thanks for taking the very high risk of me stepping on your toes and crippling you.

[ With a laugh of her own, she gently nudges him with her elbow. ]

Hey, I'll take the chance again if you ever want to.

Hah, thanks. I appreciate that. Maybe the next uh...social gathering. If this place is anything like home, there'll be plenty of them.

[Corona has a party every time a mouse farts, after all. ]

There are a few here and there. But hey, sounds fun. I look forward to it.
