The last month of the school year is always a busy one! Let's do our best and make some lifelong memories!
Spring Concert (May 6th)For the past few weeks, anyone enrolled in music class at Kaisou High School have been hard at work preparing for the spring concert. The music teacher, Elliot Craig, while ordinarily a nice teacher has basically gone all friendly drill sergeant on his students, working them very hard to make sure the concert is the best it can be. Sweat, tears, and possibly blood has been shed throughout the whole process. But now its finally here. The school bands and choirs perform for all their friends and family to see. And other than a huge typical hiccups here and there, it goes pretty well! Perhaps you want to deep dive into your experiences preparing for the concert, or for the big night itself.
Prom (May 7th)With the concert out of the way, it's time for the big dance! This year prom has the theme "A Time to Remember" (whatever that means) and is being held at a dance hall at the Gold Saucer in the entertainment district! Put on your nicest prom dress, grab a date or a friend, and come down to this keystone high school event. There's plenty of space in the venue for students to dance to their favorite school-approved bops or hang out by the wall awkwardly! And of course there's a punch bowl and snacks available that are being watched by teacher chaperones. While gambling is technically illegal for many of the kids, the more crafty kids might find a way to ditch the party and try to check out the other entertainment the Gold Saucer has to offer. Just be careful not to get caught! Detention's in your fate if you don't watch yourself.
Finals (Throughout May)Unfortunately there's two sides of every coin. With all the fun of proms, also comes the pain of finals. Prepare for finals the best way you can - make study groups, guzzle 5-hour energy drinks, pull all-nighters, or get a good night sleep! Finals come in many forms from standard exams to presentations to long essays to the ever dreaded group projects. Some grades have it bad enough to make you want to scream, but try to power through as best as you can! Exams results for classes are posted on the wall outside their classroom, listed by ID number to keep it anonymous, but you can at least you can bring a friend to find out if you achieved that A or are doomed to a semester of summer school.
Graduation & End of the School Year (End of May)Finally once all the finals are said and done, it's time to wrap up the end of the school year. Graduation for the characters in their senior year will take place May 29th. The graduation ceremony is a pretty standard affair with a speech from the Valedictorian and a keynote speaker that is just whoever they could get -- this year being Professor Willow. He gives a very long speech about always being open to exploring and pushing boundaries. It'd be a bold and inspirational speech, but it's undercut by the times he goes off on tangent to talk about Pokemon. So you know, standard graduation affair. Throw your cap in the air and take photos with your friends and family! You did it!
For the rest of the grades that aren't graduating, the last day of school is May 31st. The last week of classes is less actual lessons, and more about cleaning up the school (classrooms, clubrooms, and lockers) as well as going on various field trips such as to the zoo and the park. Students will also get their yearbooks, so you can have your friends sign and wish each other a great summer. On the final day of school, all students are invited to a picnic where you can eat grilled food, sit in the sun, and play frisbee and other sports. Have a great summer everyone!
This is a catch-all log for high school related activities that take place at the end of the year! Follow along with the prompts or make up your own! Talent Shows, school plays, senior parties, senior pranks - you name it! This is meant to be pretty open-ended, so go wild!
Note: The Spring Concert and Prom are taking place in game BEFORE La Llorona starts becoming rather noticeable and the Spirit Gate appears, so you can party in peace.

[Not that she was exactly planning on staying that long in this world, but just in case].

[ Even if they won't all be in the same grade.
Once they join those on the dance floor, Moana lets go of Luz's hand and starts moving to the beat. Some of the moves come from her many years of studying dance, but for the most part she just lets herself get lost in the music. ]
Pretend Luz is dancing!
[They were all involved with magical stuff, right?
Ooh, a fellow dancer! Luz could also move pretty well, but even she knew she tended to move best with a partner]!
no subject
[ There will definitely be magical shenanigans happening, but hopefully that won't be the only time they're hanging out.
Moana grins a little as she watches Luz dance. She's more used to dancing with a group and doesn't do a lot of dancing one-on-one with people, but she still has fun dancing with Luz as her hips sway along to the rhythm of the music. ]

[Luz wasn't sure how things were going on that end, but knew that she had to get back home very soon. The day of Unity was happening soon, and she couldn't act like that wasn't going to be a big deal.
Luz couldn't help but watch Moana a moment. Luz danced for fun: she wasn't a girl that got to go to parties much, and what she'd learned had been from her mama anyway. Moana looked like she was made for dancing, and wondered momentarily if maybe she had some sort of magical dancing ability]?
Wow! You're really good!

[ As much as she likes the people she's met from other worlds, she does sincerely hope that they're able to get back to their own worlds. Being stuck in a place you didn't want to be in could be difficult.
With a small laugh, Moana does a little spin and a side step as her arms move in a wave-like motion. ]
Thanks! My mom's a dance instructor, so I've been dancing before I could walk!
[ That's only a slight exaggeration. ]

In Luz's case, it was a matter of time being of the essence, helping to save the people THERE so she could eventually get back to her own world. Being here complicated things].
No kidding! My mom taught me to dance too, though she's a veterinarian.
[Luz mimicked the girl but did a little bit of a complicated shuffle and backward dip to boot].
no subject
Very cool! [ Luz's moves are definitely impressive, and Moana does another spin around her. ] I'd definitely call you up for a dance competition.
no subject
Thanks! I do what I can! [Luz gave her a small bow]. And thanks for inviting me out here too! I'm actually having a lot of fun!
[Considering how she was brought to this world in the first place, that was saying a lot].
no subject
no subject
I am! It does feel good to just do something fun, despite everything!
It must have been hard for you too though, right? Or are you native to this world?
no subject
I'm technically native to this world, but I grew up in Hawaii most of my life. We didn't move this city until I started high school. So I can kind of get the feeling of being displaced, even if it's not quite the same as you guys.
no subject
Once I can do the things I could from my world, I'll start to do that.
[She wished Owlbert was here, so she could at least start flying again].
Right, I wondered where you were from. Hawaii. I would have loved to visit there, but alas, I am a Connecticut girl.
no subject
[ 'When', not 'if'. ]
But what do you mean about doing the things from your world?
no subject
I'd love that! When I get back to my own actual world. Not sure when that will happen.
[And she still had a lot of work in the Boiling Isles before that happened].
I should be specific: once I'm able to do the things I learned from the world I just came from. On Earth, I'm just a regular weird girl. In the Boiling Isles, I'm one of two humans there, and I can perform wild magic! Here, its...kinda tapered down.
no subject
Oh wow, you can do magic? That's awesome. It's weird that it was weakened like that, though. What kind of magic is it?
no subject
Yes! It's actually glyph magic, meaning that its cast with symbols instead of in the air or innately. Broken down there are four basic glyphs: ice, fire, plant and light, but they can also be combined to do other things if you know how to use them!

[Luz started by sketching out the glyph for her light spell. Once she tapped it, the paper seemed to roll into itself and then became a glowing little beacon of light, like a very bright firefly, only this was a little stronger than the other things she'd cast].
My light spell is actually pretty bright. I figured it would be more diminished like the other glyphs, but its not. I wonder if that's because it was my first spell.
[Luz still didn't know you could be affiliated with specific elements yet, not that her own was Light].
no subject
Wow...that's incredible.
[ Some people also seem to notice the light, but most people write it off as part of the decorations. ]
That could be it? It could be stronger since you've probably had more practice with this one than with your other spells.
no subject
It was still slow going, but less so for her light magic. Go figure].
Trust me, I could do MUCH better if I was at the place I was before I got here.
But I could use ALL of them with proficiency before! Why is this one so much more powerful? Is it a Kaisou thing?
no subject
Have you had a chance to go to the Enki Education Center? They might have some information there.
no subject
[She could really use some of her glyph magic right about now].
Oh, uh, no. What is that?
no subject
It's a place in Undertown that offers classes on magic and all the supernatural things that normal people don't really know about. They might have something there that could help, but the classes still cost money.
no subject
That sounds both good and a little frustrating that they cost money at all. Have you gone to any of those classes?
