Okay, what the hell is “flat earth theory”?
This isn’t serious. There aren’t actually humans who think their planet is flat. You have space exploration - more or less.
This has to be some kind of joke.
Right?

In my past life, the idea of space travel was...well, almost absurd until a certain traveler came from the stars. While we knew of the planet's shape and its existence, along with its moons, it merely existed as its own universe under a false sky.
In that sense, space travel to us was a lot like gods to you.

That's going to take more wrapping.
Not to mention, my people never really had deities. The asari, drell and humans do, more than most other species. Maybe that's part of it.

You likely have had a life cycle before this.
I promise, I am not trying to cause frustrations, but to merely help that brain of yours contextualize it. Is it because with tech you can take it apart, see how it works, and put it back together, while magic and gods do not have that?

Wheel Of Life concept, right? Multiple lifetimes. That, at least, I get. Never thought it'd actually end up being true, but here we are.
[It was more of a salarian concept than a universal one. But at least it was a familiar one.]
Mm, that could be. Always liked tackling things I could take apart, reason with. Numbers are easy, like that. Abstract concepts like magic, faith... I tend to leave to other people.

Just know, even with the mounting evidence of multiple lifetimes, know you can still believe what you've always believed.
[Garrus didn't have to believe any of this stuff, especially since he was from a world so far removed. Space Travel to their extent didn't exist here to the point that they would be talking magic themselves, after all.]
Haha, nothing wrong with that, my friend. It is because people are so diverse that they progress as a species at the rate they do. The skeptics and realists give the dreamers and and believers foundation to stand on, and vice versa, they lift up their down to Earth brethren to new heights.

[The smallest, most fringe benefit of the Reapers being real was a lot of other things being easier to accept. He'd still have preferred the skepticism to, well, you know, horrible galaxy-ending war.]
Glad to hear there's still a place for tech heads in the magic city. I'd be out of luck, otherwise.

It is a lot to take in. It's why I did my best to hide what I am. I wished to live among the humans, alongside them.
[Thankfully, most lighthouse keepers by default are eccentric.]
You may even say they are essential. Too much magic can lead to a lack of reliance on the potential of humankind, if that makes sense.

[A whole lot.]
You mean with the people on this app, right? I've been informed people off it don't exactly... see us. Or know about all this.
I can see where you're going with that. But if the history in my world is any judge, they'll be just fine.

[He can't help but laugh at Garrus, though. He's not wrong, certainly...but.]
No, the people on this app are quite aware of what I am. It is the normal citizens. I look human by all intents and purposes, but my behaviors are not something that can be hidden behind lack of perception.
Not to mention, I cannot consume food as humans do. It has led to..quite interesting ways to get around it.

See, that's something else I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around. Apparently, the locals all think I look human. That's... I can buy past lives, gods running around, magic. But me? Looking human? Can't do it.
[It's not quite what Flins is talking about, but, unfortunately, this man thinks he's funny.]
You can't? Why?
Granted, neither can I, but I doubt your reason's the same.
