UN: Zodiac | Midmonth Post

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Libra App
WHEN: October 15th
WHAT: Zodiac Network Post
WARNINGS: None!

[We've reached the second half of October. The victims of the Event Horizon have returned to Kaisou, along with some bodies. Meanwhile, the Zodiac employees have been rescued from the Unknown, but it's still open for people to explore]

Childe Xie Lian Baizhu
Childe, Xie Lian, and Noa have joined the app. Say hi everyone!

[The post then continues on as normal.]

Hello. Thank you for using the Libra App.

Thanks to everyone that helped save my colleagues from the Unknown. Working at Zodiac isn't great, but that realm sounded like it was somehow worse- so I'm sure they appreciate it.

And to my colleagues, as a special favor I convinced Janet not to throw another potluck to welcome you back. You guys are getting doordash gift cards instead, you're welcome.

In other news.... what the hell happened to the group that went on a fishing trip? Over 20 of you going on a fishing trip sounded weird enough, but then you guys came back with dead bodies?

On second thought, maybe it's better I don't know.

Now bye.

This post is sponsored by Seven Stars Mall. Enjoy our exciting new indoor amusement park, a 7-star shopping experience, and don't forget to take a photo with our mascot, Rex, just outside the mall! Post it on social media with #7StarRex to enter a sweepstakes for a $10,000 and other fun prizes!

[As of now ICly, Even Horizon is back and the Zodiac members have been saved fro the Unknown, though you're still welcomed to explore it! Also you're completely welcome to continue backtagging both events!

Users will have the option to choose their own display names and user pics if they haven't already. If nothing is chosen, the app will use their real name and a quick photo taken of them from their camera's phone. Like always, there'll be no responses from Zodiac. And as always, feel free to keep backtagging the event logs! ]

"Right. Right. Magic," James pauses as well, letting out a slow and tense breath. "Of course it's magic. All the weird things are."

He groans, and there's the sound of shifting clothing from his end as he scrubs hard at his face, his voice muffled behind his hands when he speaks again.

"And since it's magic, any group trying to keep tabs on things like this is probably just left playing clean up, rather than doing any actual good. Ughhhh. Okay. That makes more sense."

"Well, like I said, Zodiac probably wouldn't do much anyway, but... The other people on the app would, if they could. So when something like this happens, it's because nobody had a way to stop it."

There was a pause before she continued. On the one hand she didn't want to pry, but on the other hand she could at least put two and two together from his original comment, so...

"Are you okay, though?"

James clicks his tongue, seemingly frustrated with that answer, though that's... maybe a little unfair, now that he thinks about it. Just because he doesn't like hearing that nobody had a way to stop it doesn't mean it's Ritsuka's fault for saying it.

So after a moment, James just sighs and turns back towards his phone, exhaustion evident just in the way his voice seems so very resigned.

"I'll be... fine. Believe it or not, this fishing trip isn't even the worst thing I've dealt with in the last year," and, after another pause. "I-- Sorry. I just hate hearing that things are unavoidable. It's just not fair to the people that get sucked into it, you know?"

"Of course it's not fair. It's just... It's better to find a way to deal with it than just being angry that it happened, I guess?"

She was far too familiar with being stuck in 'unfair' situations.

"I mean, it's not bad to be angry, just as long as it's not just being angry, you know?"

"Productive anger, right."

James laughs at that, and it's an honest laugh, if just a little surprised.

"It's been a while since I heard other people dealing with things this way. It's refreshing."

He takes a moment to breathe, to steady himself, to calm down.

"Sorry, I'm just really tired of people just accepting when bad things happen. It happened a lot where I... used to live."
prunedworlds: (what's going on?)

"Oh, nobody here thinks it's right or okay that they happened, it's just... Sometimes things happen that there's nothing anybody can do anything about it."

A beat.

"Believe me, when it's something people can do something about, then they do."
