PURPLE RAIN
"Hoshi, the sky is your color."
There is no one, it seems, for the little girl wandering the streets to talk to. Not so long ago, a gate opened to the Spirit realm from in the Midtown area. Going through at first seems to result in finding a normal, albeit eeriely quiet stretch of a Japanese town. It's an old one- a number of buildings are yet made of wood, and there's an air of tradition beneath the odd, violet and red-lined sky.
But there is no one there. The streets seem to bend and turn to impossible locations. Things are not quite as they ought.
Its the Spirit realm after all.
Suzume- a small girl of almost 6- has noticed and also not noticed this. She was in Cairo, not long ago. They were waiting for people from the 'Speedwagon Foundation', 'JiJi' had said, and they would bring her back home to 'Haha', and him as well. While JiJi had explained that, Hoshi had simply stared off in quiet. Mister Donut had frowned, a strange frown that made it seem more like he'd bitten a lemon but didn't want to admit he didn't like it.
And then...
She got dizzy? Or maybe...
(Hoshi had shouted- he always said the same word, but it would mean something else every time, and this time, it meant he was scared)
"...It looks like home, but the sky is your color," Suzume murmurs quietly, tugging at the straps of her bag. For anyone who comes into the labyrinth, there is no one there. No one at all. Suzume speaks to thin air, asking it- "....Hoshi, are you tired?"
...
"Okay Hoshi. I can walk, it's okay."
...
There is a little girl wandering the labyrinth. She holds her backpack straps determinedly, her handkerchief hairclip bouncing a bit with each step.
And she is alone.

There is now another gate that has popped up, one that sounds considerably less dangerous.
It's probably not his brightest idea, but he wants to check it out. And that's how Kakyoin finds himself navigating strange streets and weird building placements until he sees--
... Oh no. That's a young girl. She's alone.]

[This may be a dumb idea, but he's going to approach.]

Suzume hears a voice- That Voice- and turns immediately.
(Behind her, invisible, a 'ghost' freezes.)
The girl immediately lights up, running toward him.]
Mister Donut..!! Mister Donut..! [And then-
Stops, squinting and staring in confusion.]
....the donut hole is gone...

On the other, she... recognizes him? He can't keep the confusion out of his expression as he kneels down to her level.]

...and apparently gets nothing helpful as she nods...though hesitantly, given Tenmei's own words. It's him right? Or. Well. She looks at him- around him, and so on, handkerchief wobbling as she goes.
This is all very...weird. It's weird.
....she pokes a finger against him, and blinks.]
...you're all solid too...
[And perhaps the worst part, she realizes-]
...The cherries are gone..!!!

[He lets her poke at him, a bemused expression tugging at his face as he does.
His eyes are drawn to the handkerchief, though, and he frowns faintly. That's...
... Why is that so familiar?
Though, he's realizing he probably shouldn't dwell on that. Maybe when he's back in the real world.]
... We should probably get out of here. Will you come with me?

[Something seems to take her attention from the side again, however slightly. She follows a pointing hand only she can see, and a quiet message that no one, not even she, can truly understand.]
...Are we going back to Cairo? JiJi said we were going to go home...

Unfortunately, Cairo's pretty far from where this place lets out... Is your JiJi around here anywhere?
[Actually, he probably should've asked if anyone else was here to begin with, whoops. Too late now. But really, if anyone else was here, anyone who knew her, surely they wouldn't be letting this girl go around alone...]

[...Is her unhelpful response, delivered with a blank, blinking stare.
She has no response to the offer of Tenmei- particularly not with the look on Hoshi's face, which, either NotDonut is ignoring, or he can't see it. That too seems to be giving poor Hoshi no small amount of upset, so she tugs at his boot cuff to get his attention.
Which of course seems like pulling at Nothing.
She doesn't have to say anything for the answer to Tenmei's question to be a headshake, so she turns.]
...he's still in Cairo.

Still... it's not a good idea to stay here. It isn't dangerous now, but I wouldn't count on that continuing to be the case if we stick around.
[And it'd be just his luck, considering all he has to his name in terms of being able to defend himself is some minuscule telekinetic power.

He shakes his head and turns his attention back to the girl.]

[It's an answer given as if it were already the obvious answer- perhaps it was, at least between herself and her mystery guardian.
Of course, she doesn't move aside from to hold her backpack straps again. It isn't like SHE knows how to get out after all.
If he wants her name though, that's definitely a thing she can do. Haha told her how to introduce herself and everything, which is why she immediately gives a proper, hands folded at the front, bow, like Holly wanted her to one day do at the front of a class.]
Mmm...my name is Suzume Kujo, [she recites.] It's nice to meet you.
[Bow over! Everyone clap??
She looks up, and whatever she sees at least brightens her mood enough to keep standing all proper with pride.]

['Hoshi' is probably dying inside, emotionally speaking, but that's hardly relevant.
Walking, for Suzume, is not unfamiliar. Where many small children would have at least by a certain point asked how much longer they have to go, Suzume seems not only quite determined to keep her little feet going, but her little mouth shut.
She does occasionaly look up to stare at Tenmei some- which makes sense given her confusion- and also at everything else.]
That's mister Tanaka's food. And that's missis Kojima's...and...

She stops- or almost does, tripping a bit if Tenmei keeps going.]
