WHO: Navia and y'all!
WHERE: Network
WHEN: ~2/17
WHAT: Someone new has joined the Libra network!
WARNINGS: Should be none, but will update if there are any
[There's yet another new face on the Libra app. The smile she gives the camera is genuinely warm and friendly, and her voice has a light Louisiana accent. She might look familiar to some and unfamiliar to others.]
Hello, there! I'm Navia Desrosiers, private investigator and owner of Desrosiers Detective Agency. It's a pleasure to meet everyone! I've lived here in Kaisou for about three years, maybe a little longer by now, but I'm a little confused as to why this app suddenly downloaded onto my phone, but it seems safe enough? From what I've seen of just scrolling through it, Libra just seems to be a communication app, is that right?
[Navia looks a little perplexed. However, she's taking it remarkably well by seemingly just rolling with it. That said, she suddenly looks a little sheepish.]
Also, uh, is there anyone who's familiar with... unusual weaponry? While I was out shopping for groceries, I found an umbrella that is... different from normal, other than a strong feeling that it's important to me. It's quite solid, possibly something that could be used as a legitimate weapon, and seems to be able to become a firearm. While I'm no stranger to firearms in general, this one is... well, you know, outside the norm.

Hm.
Well. ]
Hey there. The app isn't such a bad thing, once you get used to it. A whole community of people out to help one another, for the most part.
Anyway, to answer your question. I know quite a bit about weapons and interesting technology like that.
I'd be more than happy to take a look at it or help you figure it out, miss Navia.
[ ...he won't introduce himself. Maybe, in the vaguest hope, that like Neuvillette, she may recognise him. ]

Hehe, I'm glad to hear that! And, of course, I'll offer my own assistance should anyone need it. My magic can be a little niche, but hopefully it proves useful here as it does with my line of work.
[She perks up at that.]
Oh, that would be wonderful! Thank you ever so much, Your Grace! [... Wait—why did she say that so naturally???] Er, I-I apologize, that might not have been the best way to address you....

An umbrella? Well, I suppose it’s stylish if nothing else.
no subject
Oh, it's quite stylish! It reminds me of old photos I've seen of ladies back in the day. I'll have to see about what I can wear to match it!
[Navia moves the camera so that she can show the umbrella. Well, maybe parasol is more of a fitting term for it.]
Isn't it pretty?

I know my way around a firearm, but are you telling me you got an umbrella that's also one? [Under her breath:] Gunbrella? Nope, that was bad.
[She waved it off.]
This I gotta see.
no subject
Sure do! It was quite the surprise to find it lying around in a grocery store, let me tell you. Um... hang on, I'll set down the phone so you can see it!
[Navia angles the phone on something and goes off screen to retrieve the umbrella. After coming back on, her hands move to change it from a cute parasol to a heavy gun in mere moments. It's strangely second nature to her. Despite how heavy it looks, she's not really straining to keep it in both hands.]
It doesn't seem to use normal bullets, so I imagine that it's possibly powered by magic of some kind.

App's stuck, welcome to hell. Get used to finding weird shit while you're trying to buy food it's gonna keep happening.
no subject
Well, hopefully it's not quite as dangerous as this. Still, I appreciate the warning! I'll be certain to take it to heart!
I don't know about hell, though. Everyone on here seems so friendly and welcoming. Has that not been your experience with it?

Is it broken? I'm a craftsman. I can repair just about anything.
I'm still on bed rest for a while longer, but I can probably tell you something if I look at it.
no subject
Oh, goodness, don't you get outta bed just for me, then! It's not broken, but I did worry about what I would do if it did need repairs. I'm also not entirely certain what kind of maintenance it will need. Here, let me go get it!
[Navia goes to get the umbrella and deftly changes it from parasol to gun.]
I don't see a safety on it, but it also doesn't have a chamber for bullets. I would guess that it requires magic? Oh, but let me know if you need me to move it in any way for a better look!

[She sounds amused. Look, not that long ago she was stuck in a murder plot, watching Grace try to gumshoe her way around an absolute mess of a mystery. Perhaps she's grown... a little fond of the concept. ]
I'm not originally from this world, though I have come to understand that's what happens here. You will also begin remembering memories of a past life. Admittedly a disturbing experience if you're not expecting it. You're going to be in for a time of it.
[She's not from here, but she's experienced in her own version of this enough to be certain how much it sucks to suddenly get memories you never realised were your own.]
The umbrella's new. Does it fire normal bullets?
no subject
Oh... how strange, but I suppose that explains some of the deja vu I've been experiencing. Um... I don't want to open any old wounds, but you sound as if you have experience with this sort of thing?
[It'll probably be nice to have someone to talk to when the memories start coming more clearly. At least, if that's going to be something that happens in the foreseeable future.]
It doesn't look like it does. I don't see a chamber to load bullets into it, so I imagine that it's powered by magic of some sort. It also doesn't have a safety which makes me think that it's not necessary if you have to channel magic intentionally through it.

Libra is an app with a special purpose. Access to it is given exclusively to those with some degree of familiarity with Spirit Energy, whether they realize it or not. As a result, you'll meet all sorts, even people from other worlds.
[He speaks so calmly as if it isn't utter nonsense.]
One thing that us natives have in common is that we all begin to remember events from our past lives. Most likely, that unusual weapon belonged to you in one such life—and thus, it found its way to you in this one.

[Navia definitely gets the impression from just this interaction that Zhongli is the type to let his jaybird brain run his alligator mouth. Despite how young he looks, she also gets the impression of an old-timer. She remembers how the senior citizens would sometimes go off on tangents.]
Other worlds? I've seen a lotta things, but I don't think I've seen that before. I'm certain you're telling the truth, of course!
[She mulls that over.]
I don't know how to feel about that, quite honestly. However, it sounds like it's something everyone on here experiences? So... at least I'm not alone. I believe there's solace in that much.

would she remember her? does furina want navia to remember her?
yes, yes she does. there is no need to wallow in the past anymore, is there? she doesn't need to beat herself up for the mistakes she had made as the hydro archon, nor her past failings. they can start again here, a fresh new start with a fresh new perspective.
inhale, exhale, you've got this!
it's only after gathering herself up that furina switches on her video feed and speaks: ]
Well! It appears that the others have done a decent enough job explaining the app to you, miss Navia! Unfortunately, I cannot give you any answers about the umbrella, my knowledge of devices like that is few and far between. However, I do know someone who may be able to help.
no subject
Oh, you do? That would be wonderful! I've been worried about what to do if it broke down, and any advice on maintenance would be most kind.
[Navia tilts her head slightly.]
I'm so sorry if this is sudden, but have I seen you before? I feel as if I've seen you at an opera or on stage at some point....

Desrosiers? It’s Leon Kennedy. You still owe me breakfast after that case last month.

Well, if it ain't Detective Kennedy! Of course, of course, I'll be happy to treat you to breakfast! Have you ever been to that mom and pop diner off Brick Alley? I've heard good things about their breakfast menu!

[Hi, Navia, it's the Frenchman who went and had a conversation with you about being on rooftops.]
I do hope your work has been kind to you as of late. I can imagine it keeps you busy for certain.

[Navia sighs tiredly.]
This month hasn't been the kindest. I've had so many people come in to open up cases involving their partners' strange changes in personality and faithfulness. Some of them are run-of-the-mill and genuine, but others don't line up.
But I'm not about to let that get me down!

I have lots of experience with unusual weapons...well, usually just really old weapons, but I have read up on the history of pistol swords! Although they were never widely used because, well...they weren't really that good.
...how accurate is the shot?
