WHAT: Mirabel has some questions
WARNINGS: Maybe near death mention? Possession talk.

[It’s been a few days since the fae realm ordeal. Mirabel’s learned a few things. One, she’s still furry. Two, she can’t sleep. Not after… everything that happened. She doesn’t want to talk about it, not really. But she really needs to sleep. So she has a late night question for the network.]

I’m having problems falling asleep. Either I can’t fall asleep or I keep having nightmares. Is there something I can do so I can get some sleep?

[And then she has another question. She’s very careful about asking this one, so she locks her second question from the rest of her family.]

So I’ve been reading up on possession. [A lie.] It seems like a pretty scary thing to go through. Can anyone tell me more about it? Like… what happens if it happens to you?

[A pretty innocent question, right? She hopes no one sees right through it.]

[It takes her a moment, but she realizes she’s being rude and looks away.]

Oh um. Sorry.

What… does it do to you? I feel a little different, but I feel like something else should be happening.

[mendelson]

It's okay-- um... I know how I look.

[He clears his throat again and does his best to look at her, though his gaze settles slightly offside.]

It makes you more powerful, lets you heal more quickly... You'll probably never really have a sick day from now on. But it all comes at a price. You should... hopefully know what your price is, by now.

[nonmagical]

[She tries not to look directly at him - not because of his appearance, but because she kinda feels bad now.]

They never told me what the price would be - but I've been feeling tired like, all the time. And not from just not sleeping, it's like... worse than that?

[mendelson]

They didn't tell you?

[Ah, now he is looking at her because that is very... very concerning. It's one thing to know the price of your life and to avoid paying the cost, but an entire other thing to not know what you owe at all.]

That's... You need to find out. If you aren't doing what you're supposed to... That's probably why you're so tired.

[nonmagical]

That's why I'm tired?

[So maybe there's a cure for her tiredness! She just needs to find out what the wolf wants and she'll feel better!]

H-how do I find out? Can I ask it again?

[mendelson]

You should ask it, and keep asking until it tells you what it wants from you.

[Mendelson pulls in a soft breath through his teeth. Ah... maybe he shouldn't have answered this. He rubs the pad of one thumb lightly beneath his undamaged eye.]

It's important that you find out. You don't want to end up--... [Nngh...] If you can't pay your price you're going to keep feeling worse.

O-okay, so keeping asking it until it answers. I don't think it'll be beneficial to either of us if something happens to me, so hopefully it should answer?

[mendelson]

It should. I don't know why anything would take a deal like that and then just... not tell you what it wants.

[Whether it's a deal she can live with or not is another matter, but most people would choose life. Mendelson is... a prime example of how not to deal with possession.]
