Right. Well, I'm going to assume everyone has seen the giant tower that just appear in the middle of the city. [seriously that thing is so stupid tall, he'd forgotten how tall it was and comparing it to everything in Kaisou is... no.]

That is the Crystal Tower. (And before anyone from Eorzea asks, no I did not try to summon it.)

I will give a more thorough explanation if need be, but the crux of the matter is we are going to need to deal with it in some capacity, and quickly. It is, essentially, both a giant research facility and magic conduit, and trust me when I say we do not want anyone with ill intent to get their hands on it.

With any luck, the security to keep it out of meddling hands is still in place, but I don't wish to count on it. And... there is obviously the fact that it is just there, in broad daylight.

It's a very long story.

The... short version is that it is a product of Allag, an ancient civilization with extremely advanced technology. And that I used said technology with some others' help to, ah, jump between worlds and also back in time.

I'd passed by the Tower earlier. I'm unsure how, or whether it is the Tower from the Source or the First, but it is the very same one.

Oh, no, it shouldn't be able to do that. It requires an immense amount of magic and the ability to work the Tower. It would not be something that could be triggered on accident.

The 'how' is likely our lovely rift in the Spirit Realm. If I were to guess, I would say the Source's or a copy thereof, if only because it did not come with any traces I could see of the Crystarium.

Assuming it is the same Tower with which I am familiar, in any capacity, I would give it something less than 1% likelihood of it being able to timetravel, even if someone tried to activate it. I cannot stress just how difficult the process was to manage the one time I did it, and even then, I was likely the only person alive who could. One of the security mechanisms I mentioned relies on bloodline, you see.

As for the summoning, I suppose it is possible, but the amount of magic it would require... I find it more likely that our rift is dropping things into the city again, as it so likes to do. But in any case, if it has been summoned, then that's all the more reason to make sure no one else can use it.

I am concerned that the Black Order will have interest in it. But I cannot say for sure they will or not. I was informed for a fact, however, that they are interested in Warriors of Light. Because of your connection to the Tower, there's a possibility their sights may be set on you as well.

I will admit that saying it simply channels magic is something of an understatement. It is meant to gather magic, and store it, thereby collecting a massive supply of it over time. Enough to open portals to other realms, which was one of its original purposes.

In addition, there is a wide variety of Allagan technology around. Some of it is quite usual, like nodes that store information, can assist with certain tasks, and the like. But then there's also cloning technology, technology meant to imprison gods, weapons of all sorts, genetic engineering...

I know enough about the Order to know that we absolutely do not want them to get control of the Tower, in anyway. This will make this a bit more complicated, but all the more necessary.

I appreciate it, but don't you dare put yourself in undue danger, Takame. Though many on the network seem trustworthy, the organization as a whole is definitely not. And I'd stand by you if they tried anything.

Indeed. And it's come to my attention that the Black Order is apparently interested in the Warriors of Light, which makes the timing of this all the more concerning and potentially fraught. The Order must not be allowed to control the Tower.
