No big deal. Way I see it, way too many people spread themselves thin over trying to be good at many things.

Better you specialize in one or two things and make it your expertise.
Can't say I know a lot about plants or... theology. That the study of... what, exactly?

And I will admit, it is pretty impressive. I can't claim to have created it, but I definitely make a use of it.
Oh, and Melusines are a type of intelligent being in Fontaine. They're smaller than humans, but they have human intelligence, despite how they look more like animals than people.
It's a crime to treat them badly based on that, though. Honestly, they're fantastic people. They see and understand emotions and health better than humans do.

[ ah, the study of gods. He doesn't have a problem with religion--honestly, people who can find themselves in a better place due to believing in an entity that cares for them isn't inherently a bad thing. He's just quietly reminded of a certain Geo Archon's words--a stairway in his vision--and the too-easy quip that 'anyone' could take up the mantle of a god--

He lets out a whistful sound. ]

Nothing wrong with that sort of thing, if you're good at understanding that sort of thing. The idea of god, to me--used to be just something that affects the world in a way we'll never understand. Learning recently there's a bit more to it than that.

For better or worse.

Anyway.

It'd be nice to see melusine here, it's almost a little lonely without them.
Then again, it's nice to catch a break from finding stickers all over my stuff...

[ he's fine. he's totally fine. he doesn't think about it that much hahahahaa just when he's reminded of it. ]

When you live several thousand years, you evolve into being unable to understand common mortal folk, huh? [ Reminds of him of Neuvillette. ] It's not that big a deal, once I had time to think it through. [ it's not fine ] Making an agreement like that is definitely a better idea, though, so I appreciate you doing that. I'd probably have had less headaches if I learned in three months as opposed to right away.

[ zhongli is off the chain with a 3 month release timer. great. ]

Haha--nonono, don't get me wrong. I'm saying it's a good thing. The melusines back home used to have a bet between them, I'm pretty sure.

About how many stickers they could put on my person before I noticed.

It was a pain getting them off my clothes sometimes...

Haha... no, you're absolutely right about that. Melusine are creative creatures who are definitely differently-thinking than humans are. They're more perceptive to things like health and emotions. But I digress.
It's a little hard to put yourself in that mindset when you're not used to it, huh.
Guess it goes both ways?

And I have. There was a meeting I was set to go to with a friend of mine and I slept terribly the night before. So I might have been sleeping with my eyes open and ... well.

Thirty seven.

You get used to anything that happens to you if it's repeated enough.

[ he's not from earth but he sure does understand stockholm syndrome. why is he surrounded by gods and god-like beings. lordt. ]

Melusines can absolutely be sneaky.
But I'll be honest: I was definitely not on the same planet for at least ten minutes. They had plenty of time.

Sleep anywhere melusines aren't. That's the ticket.

[ god don't remind him he doesn't want to think about it. ]

Don't have to worry about it here, though, at least. Given the only dangerous being I currently live with insists on sleeping exclusively his couch instead of an actual bed, I feel undisturbed sleep is going to be a constant in my future.

That's right. I know by now that he's not the same as the one I know back home--but he apparently remembers me well enough that he felt the need to 'take care of me' when he found out I was here.

So Imagine my surprise when I end up in the house of the vaunted Iudex and Grand Judge of Fontaine--only to find out he never leaves his livingroom...
Despite having several working bedrooms with beds in them.

It was a bit of a shock, at first.
I suppose your back doesn't really suffer when you're immortal...
Must be nice. Ask your water spirit buddy if he has a flawless bone structure or something.
I spend ONE night sleeping on the couch in my office? Boom, bones feel like crap for a whole day.

Yep. His house is beautiful. A luxury apartment for real. But it's mostly untouched. [ he won't, at least, dox the poor water dragon and tell jun that he had a literal NEST on the couch and coffee table of all his work ... and that he served him bagged tea... ]

I appreciate him, for sure. Even if living with him is far different than working for him. It's odd not having a professional relationship with him. [ being roommates is very weird. he misses his fortress. ]

...Damn, so it's like that. Some people have all the luck.
What I wouldn't give to be able to wake up feeling and looking as flawless as I did when I went down.

I've already replaced a lot of what he had in his kitchen. As for decorating, I don't really have an eye for that sort of thing. I'll leave it to Furina.

[ he might by an old phonograph, though... ]

He's long overdue. I'm not exactly the best person to teach him how to get along with others--I'm pretty introverted myself, but. I'd like to think I have the upper hand.

Also, is that you calling me handsome? I'll take the compliment. Won't catch me being too modest.

Living in this city, far from her old responsibilities is good for her, I think.

[ dont worry, jun, he'll at least be quick to clear that up for you. He knows--even if it's something he's wrestled with for a while now. Talk about having your beliefs scrambled. ]

Tell me about it. I don't have the energy for that sort of wildness.

And don't worry. I'll take the compliment gracefully.
