What are you doing.
[A statement not a question. They both know what Jun is doing. They both know. ]

Asking a question for a friend.

This is because of what I said about that stupid app, isn't it?

That's a normal thing to think is dumb.

I don’t think anyone here has a million dollars in cash lying around, though. That’s the only way I’ll consider acquiring a TikTok account as well.
no subject
Ha, that's fair. I don't have a tiktok account myself, but I am familiar with it.
no subject
I’ve had them sent to me a few times and aside from the cat videos, I’ve never seen the appeal.

[He's not going to argue, he doesn't know enough differences about google and bing to really weigh in]
I can't say I really know either. I think it's because it's considered "cool" and also the videos aren't as long as youtube videos, so there's less time commitment.

The flower shop I currently work in has social media accounts to promote the business a lot. So they often post a lot on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and they have a Pinterest account to share ideas and inspiration with customers and clients.
Apparently someone in the team suggests to my employer to get a TikTok for the shop as well but they decline it.
no subject
And... yeah, that's probably a wise call. Some businesses find some great success with tiktok, but it can easily go very wrong. Better to play it safe.
no subject
I definitely agree with that as well. Every business got to be cautious when handling new social media accounts since you never know if things can get off to a rough start. So I do think that my employer made the right call to not jump into the Tiktok bandwagon just yet.

... it's not a guarantee that he won't ratchet right up when excited, but he starts off normal! ]
Oh, the technology of this world is terribly fascinating and wonderful--to think that something that is advanced magic in my world is so easily accessible, and in some ways, improved! The mind boggles and it fills me with a sense of delight.
I did not find the use of the smart phone too complicated--the manual is rather insightful for initial use, and once you find the Google and the Youtube, you can truly find information on an infinite number of topics!
I have yet to encounter the TikTok, but I am curious about it--is it a messages platform or something of its kin? The sacred texts would occasionally refer to what I thought was a piece of magic known as Line, but I've yet to encounter it.
[ one day he'll find the google app store and then you're all in danger. ]

Jun will switch to voice to match the conversation]
Haha, sounds like you have a positive attitude about it! And I know you've only been here a little while, so it sounds like you adapted with little problems at all!
Oh, Tiktok is like...it is a message platform, but it specializes in short form videos. [....] That said, Line is a messaging app used a lot in Japan. Why would your sacred texts mention that?
[JUST WHAT ARE THESE SACRED TEXTS]
no subject
I like finding out about new things! You'd think there'd be nothing new and shocking for someone as old as I am, but this new world has so many wonderful things that my world hasn't even begun to conceptualize. It makes being spirited away a blessing in disguise.
[ there's a cheerful hum as Veldora contemplates TikTok, tilting his head back and forth as he's questioned on Line, and his manga, searching his memory for the last time he'd heard of the app. ]
Perhaps I should figure out getting an 'e-mail' account for myself to look upon TikTok... as for Line, most of the sacred texts I've read tend to feature Japan, if they aren't of a more fantastical bent. The most recent one I've taken in was called Tsukigakirei!
[ a pause. consideration. and then, an admission ]
Rimuru sometimes calls the books 'manga'?
1/2
He. Does he think manga is scripture????]
2/2
Ohhh, manga! I'm very familiar with those texts. Yes, those are written mostly in Japan, but they have some following here too in the states.
I even can hook you up with some websites that lets you read them online, if you'd like. Though yes, having an email address would be good.

As for the technology, it's nothing like I'm used to; and yet, it's fascinating, all the same. I bought a cellphone just to take it apart and it's amazing that you can get that much computing power on such a tiny little board. Most of the robots and machinery in my world are much bigger and clunkier--if we had this sort of tech, well.
I'm no expert but I know a few people would lose their minds over it.
UN: hikari-vi | text
I'm impressed that you already took apart a cellphone, honestly. I'm too worried I'll break something to try something like that. Probably won't be long until you surpass me with tech savvy.
Teyvat has robots?
Re: UN: hikari-vi | text
Eh, it's an old habit of mine. If I find something interesting, I can't help but to tinker with it. I'm no great master of any sort of craft, but I've played with enough to have a basic understanding. I'd not cut yourself too short too early.
And yeah. At least, in Fontaine, we do. We have robots that do all sorts of things. Drones for busywork, machines that do mining or lugging operations--we even have a 24 hour system for city guards that watch the city and keep its people safe with the Gardemeks, they're a sort of clockwork mech that work tirelessly so our actual human and Melusine guards can take a break, you know?
Everyone's safe, and noone's overworked.

Don't worry, unlike my friend, my pride doesn't rely on being an expert engineer. My fields are botany and theology, so I don't mind if you do wind up surpassing me.
That's incredible... we have security systems and cameras, but nothing that sophisticated. What's a Melusine though?
