Also... has anyone else encountered a man in red planting something in your yard? He planted some mint in my yard and said he was helping, but then he ran off before I could get anymore answers.

Does anyone know anything about that? Is he okay? I know things are really stressful right now, but...well, I'm a little worried.

Certainly, he is known as Minto no kyōi; a yokai that is both good-hearted as it is mischievous. He is hardly dangerous, in fact, he will crumple like a wet paper bag if you were to try and face in combat. Most stories depict him as a nuisance more than anything else, given the invasive nature of mint itself.

Aha... well, that does sound pretty close to what I saw, yeah! He did run pretty quickly when I yelled out to him and everything. Any ideas why he's so fixated on planting mint?

That is like asking why scorpions sting, it is simply in their nature. It is the Minto no kyōi's nature to plant mint and scuttle away into the night, pleased with the chaos he has sown.
