WHO: Nox and Kni
WHERE: At Kaisou High School
WHEN: Beginning of the month, after high school hours
WHAT: Kni has learned that kids skip class, and has begun to do so himself, and wanders off to the high school to explore after-school hours. Naturally, he's spotted by Nox and they have a Talk(TM).
WARNINGS: Nah

[Usually around this time of year, everything's finally set into a routine- Nox's sleep schedule is back to being hellish and full of regrets, the kids have learned what to do and what not to do in order to not fail PE, and they also have learned that most of the time, Mr. Miller's pretty chill. It's a system, and it's one that Nox has gotten used to as the years have gone by.

So once school is out, he's headed out from the office and checking on the equipment- there's no basketball practice for today, so he takes his time.

Which is how, as Nox is kneeling to grab one of the last ball pumps, his eyes catch a glimpse of blonde hair. He gets up and follows immediately, turning the corner of the gym's doorway, before-]

Kni? [Wait, isn't the elementary school day still going right now? Shit- what's he doing here? Did he just leave his class and walk over?? There's too much to ask and really, Nox doesn't want him to be questioned by another teacher, so he'll head over to where the kid is and take care of it first.]

Shouldn't you be in school still?

[and here he'd hoped he would go unnoticed, having already slipped past a few adults already.

hearing his name called, kni freezes. there's a half-second where he considers making a run for it, but decides quickly that would be pointless. so instead he turns around, displeasure pulling his face into a frown.]

That's a dumb question.

[he glances over nox, still with that frown. old man hair...]

No one knows I'm gone, so it's fine.

[Ah, so that's how it is. Nox crosses his arms at that, seeing Kni's frown, and furrowing his brow a bit. Vash did say that Kni was already bored in class, since he knows everything already.

How to do this...

Nox actually laughs a little at the first remark.]

You know, it kinda was. [Being a dumb question, he means.] So let me ask you this instead: Why are you skipping class and coming here, to the high school?

[A beat, and he exhales. Oh, Kni... teachers are not as dumb as you think they are.] C'mon, champ- it's not hard to put two and two together if you leave and then don't come back.

[ornamentals]

[his eyes narrow at the nickname - champ? what year is it? kni looks away, just barely resisting an eye roll.]

I already finished my work and it was the last period. So, it's fine.

[he says as if it's only fine because he says it's fine. which isn't how it works, but the boredom was becoming critical. as for why he came here...]

I wanted to see the music room. [he's already looking ready to walk away and continue his searching.] There is one here, right?
