WHO: kni & you!
WHERE: network & around the city
WHEN: july 1st
WHAT: kni enters the scene and gets lost almost immediately.
WARNINGS: possible talk of mass murder / genocide, generally bratty behavior, etc.
[ action - the city ]
[nai wakes up to the sound of rain, although he doesn't recognize it for what it is. the droning noise could almost be considered pleasant, compared to the absolute nightmare he was finally pulling himself from-
or not. he sits up from the cafe table he'd been slumped over, his cheek still red from having laid it against the laminate surface for too long. he stares blearily out of the cafe window he was seated beside, brows pulling together as he frowns. the rain captures his attention as he slowly comes to, before all at once the gravity of his situation hits him with full force.
kni jumps up from the table so fast he nearly knocks over the chair, only realizing belatedly that he was holding something. an oddly shaped device and a... book? he decides he'll flip through it later as he rushes for the doors, nearly jumping out of his skin when someone - tall, human - opens the door from the other side. he only gives them a sparing glare before he pushes past them to run outside. right into the rain.
his heart racing, kni stands there. staring up at the sky, the feeling of rain soaking his hair and clothes is so new, he doesn't know what to process first. with his new items clutched to his chest, kni's gaze moves from the storm clouds above to looking around and noticing, with dawning horror, that he was surrounded by humans. this wasn't the desert planet they crashed into, either.
from one nightmare into another, kni picks a direction and starts walking.]

this technology is so old and the interface for this application is ugly.
whoever designed this should be ashamed.

Usually, yeah. Who're you looking for?
no subject
where do you come from?
my brother. but i've already found him.
no subject
Not too big on the technology there.
Oh good! That's good. Nice to have someone you know here. I think it probably helps.
no subject
[unlike vash, kni enjoyed their school lessons.]
do you really think that or are you just saying it to try and make me feel better?
no subject
[School is the BEST, okay.]
I had people from where I'm from for a little while here. It was nice at the time. It's a little more complicated now. So many it's a bit of both.
...Do you not like your brother? Is it a problem he's here?
no subject
i love my brother
and it isn't a problem that he's here too
but
[...]
it doesn't matter.
no subject
Okay. That's... good then?
[He doesn't know this guy at all, so it's not his place to pry, but still...]
If you're sure. Do you have a place to stay?
no subject
it's fine.
why are you asking?
no subject
There's a LONG pause.]
Uh. Because you're new here and no one should have to sleep on the street? Wanted to make sure you had a roof over your head.
no subject
i'm not going to sleep on the street. that would be stupid and reckless.
but i do have a place to stay. so it's fine.
no subject
True, but people sometimes do stupid and reckless things around here.
[One day he'll tell you about the time he brought dinosaurs into the city while trying to build a portal back home.]
Great. Glad to hear that. Seriously.
no subject
[okay... that actually sounds kinda rad??? file that next to 'teach him about alchemy', thanks. a minute, two minutes go by before he responds again.]
do you have a name?
no subject
[He can do this! And at least he's not going to be too bothered by the space of time between replies. He's an awkward duck when it comes to socialising himself.]
I'm Varian. What about you?
no subject
kni
no subject
Also for you know. Friendship purposes.]
Well. Nice to meet you Kni. Let me know if you need any help settling in, okay? I know some great places to get food if nothing else.
no subject
[he's in for a terrible surprise about that soon...]
no subject
Oh, okay, that's fine! Handy!
