WHO: Zagreus and Thanatos
WHERE: A cute little house and garden near the park
WHEN: Early January
WHAT: Zagreus is no longer homeless, and accidentally summons a friend to said house
WARNINGS: Dumb boys

Zagreus has been more or less not living anywhere for... however long he's been here. (He does not, understandably, have a great sense of time, barely knowing what a 'month' even is.) It doesn't bother him; he's not much for sleep, always active, always moving. But he does feel a little bad for Cerberus; the goodest boy of all deserves a nice place to rest. Trouble is, hardly anywhere has been able to accommodate his size.

That is, until one day in his wandering, he finds a house where there wasn't one before. A very, very familiar house.

Persephone's bountiful garden is vibrant as ever, and Cerberus seems pleased by it all, and Zagreus stares around at it with part comfort, part concern. Oh, he hasn't the faintest idea how to take care of these. Maybe someone on the network will be able to help...

But first he heads inside, finding a few other things of interest. Stygius, Exagriph, and...

He stops in front of a chair, where a little Companion Mort doll is propped, looking like it's been sitting there. He can't help but chuckle fondly, reaching down to pick it up. "I'll need to show Than all this," he mutters to himself. It would be nice if his friend could just be here now--

Thanatos, much like Zagreus, has not really been... living anywhere. The idea of it is a strange one and though he has a space with four walls that he could call his own had he a mind to he has done nothing at all to make it into a home and spends much of his time simply wandering about. Kaisou is not a comfortable place to be for the workaholic death god and he has not been able to settle in any respect, between the strange place and the idea that his twin brother - when he is finally able to see him face to face - is not going to know who he is.

He's passing through a park, one he has walked through many times before, when he feels a familiar tug. A summons. One he immediately recognises the source of and does not even think to resist.

And so, a moment after Zagreus utters those fateful words, Thanatos himself appears not too far away from him and lightly plants the base of his scythe down against the ground. There might just be a tiny smile on his face, if you squint really hard and do it quickly.

"Zagreus." ... Huh. This place looks strangely familiar, in a tantalising way that he can't quite put his finger on. He carefully sets his scythe against a wall to avoid knocking it into anything and looks curiously around the room. "Where are we?"

Having been unable to teleport to anywhere he has not actually been to before so far since his arrival in this place, Thanatos' surprise at ending up somewhere new is visible for that brief moment between his appearance and his noticing Zagreus standing there.

"You didn't mean to summon me..." How then did it happen, he wonders, but no matter. He does have to duck a little to make sure he doesn't hit anything that might happen to be hanging from the ceiling but he moves over to where the other god is without incident.

"Work of the Spirit Vein, no doubt." As everything strange that happens here seems to be. "But since it is here, what will you do now?"

His gaze goes to the plush, thoughtful, before he holds out his hand to ask for it to be given to him. Just so he can examine it. It's his, after all, and he would like to think he would notice if something about Mort was changed or unusual. As far as he had been able to tell the summons felt like every other time, and he had answered it with just as much swiftness as he ever did.

There are few occasions where he will refuse such a call.

"I'm sure that she would." Thanatos studies Zagreus then. How he might feel about... all of this, everything, has been a topic he has not really approached. "Her garden came along with it, then?"

He doesn't keep it. Thanatos briefly examines Mort for any alterations - finding none - then hands him back to Zagreus with a faint half-smile. He did give him as a gift after all, and if the summoning is going to work here then he wants to make sure that Mort stays with Zagreus.

The death god glances to the window as well, spying the lush green outside. Of course...

"Mm. I understand." All those times that the other god had pushed his way through his father's realm to get back here, even though it was only for a few minutes... it's good that he can have this now. "If there's anything I can do..."

"The mortals here seem abundantly helpful, in their own ways."

To a point that he sometimes finds it a little annoying, but that's just Thanatos' way when he feels like something is intruding. He can be so particular about his privacy. "I doubt you'll have trouble getting suggestions from them."

His attention goes back to Zagreus for a moment.

"But some of it might be conflicting. It could benefit you to do some reading of your own."

"I've overheard people speaking of a library, though I don't know where it is."

He makes his way over to the window now, so he can look out properly and examine the garden from this vantage point. It's very green, even with the time of year... but that's to be expected, he supposes, if it simply appeared here. Anything out of season will likely not survive long.

Thanatos knows that much about plants, at least.

"But you're intimately accustomed to trial and error. I'm sure you can put some of that experience to good use, can't you Zag?"
