[ Considering it's Christmastime, the shop has been a bit slow going for Eda's liking. Which means it's time for a bit of... a promotional campaign. And she knows just the thing.

With much effort and grunting, she pushes her prized Furby Organ out the shop door and positions it in front of her window on the sidewalk. Then, a few meters away, she puts up a tripod where she mounts her phone. She pushes record. ]

Hello, everyone! It's Eda from The Owlery, and I've got something special for you today! Ahem. Just a second.

[ She sits down at the organ... and begins playing All I Want For Christmas Is You. ]

[ Eda keeps playing and turns around toward her phone, yelling to be heard above the noise. ]

Who had the idea to build.... that? And how did they decide it was a good idea?

[Danny raises his voice a little to be heard over the noise. He cringes a little at a high note. ]

No idea! It just showed up in my shop one day.

[ She's yelling very cheerfully. ]

[Suddenly things made much more sense.]

[Danny shouts this back with all the excitement of solving a puzzle. His parents had been very confused when a rip-off soda vending machine had suddenly appeared in the kitchen. ]

Oh, you got an odd random large appliance too? Some fae folk out there must be very generous.

Yeah, this full size vending machine just turned up in the kitchen. But all you can buy it is kind of scary looking rip off soda.

Scary looking? How does soda look scary?

Cans that look like they were scavenged from a low budget post-apocalyptic movie, almost radioactive colors. I'm not saying they're not safe to drink, but I am saying that its tempting to run some science experiments on them.

Okay, just don't tell that Varian boy about it. He's a good kid, but I think he has a tendency to overestimate his abilities.

Uh... that was literally the first thing we talked about when it showed up?

And I don't think he does? He just underestimates the explosions.
