[Bruno is sitting in a large cavernous room with a sandpit in the middle. It's not the fun kind of sandpit though and Bruno is definitely not having a good time. He looks more stressed than usual as he turns the feed on.]

Okay, so I thought I'd give this looking into the future of this place thing one more shot. Just- just to see if I could see if anything...awful was coming. Or maybe if there was an exit to this unending nightmare? You know how it is. Anyway, the answer to that is absolutely not.

[He raises his little glass vision plate to the screen, just as poor quality as it was last month. He jabs a single finger at it in a panicked motion.]

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, can I please draw your attention to the DECAPITATED HUMAN HEAD?!!! Okay there's also some...fish with glasses and kind of a cane here too and I don't know what that's about, but what I really think we should be focussing on here is the DeCApItAtEd HuMAn hEad.

[He drops the plate, raising his hands.]

Anyway, I'm done. I am super done with literally everything. I'm just gonna go back to living in the walls where I didn't have to worry about any, and I really can't stress this enough, decapitatted human heads.

Ay no, I think it makes the biggest difference, Bruno.

You have always tried to do more, be more, accomplish more for this family. I wish you could see how incredible that is.

[Oh wow, that's...sure giving him some emotions there. He feels his throat get a little tight- it's fine, this is fine. A small part of him wants to argue that he didn't have much choice, none of them did- they were only doing what was expected...demanded of them. It doesn't put him anywhere different than her, than any of the kids. ]

...I guess I'm still trying to get my head around that concept.

[It's FINE for Mira, less so for him. ]

It's a little trickier. We uh- we had a lot longer to get used to it.

[She sighs and nods, leaning back, but keeps a hold of his hand.]

We did, yes. [Julieta is not an idiot, far from it. She knows how long they've lived under the notion of being useful, being helpful, being available with their gifts. Julieta, personally, always had to be calm, she was the good girl, not quiet and "eerie" the way people called Bruno, but just gentle and never the sort to yell or shout, she was mamá's helper. She knows.

Even now, she struggles to be properly "angry," Agustín always having done it for her because he didn't mind being the harsher voice where she always had to be calm and gentle and in control. Before Agustín, Pepa had been willing to yell for all three of them.

God, she missed them both, she missed Felix, she missed mamá too.]

But... it's just us right now, the kids need us, as imperfect as we are, they need us. I need you.

[Will any of them ever truly shrug off the shackles of usefulness? He doubts it. Even after a decade in the walls, he still felt daily guilt that he wasn't doing anything to help the family, that he'd actively hurt them and what was the point of him if both those things were true?

And Julieta had it worse, at least Bruno had the chance to go off a little once in a while, but never her. She was always stalwart and steady. Being anything else in the face of her more...eccentric siblings was unacceptable. He is at least vaguely aware of the pressure that put on her- which of course adds to the gnawing guilt in his chest. ]

You've got me, I promise. I'm not going anywhere.

[She wraps her arms around him and lets out a long breath, glad to have him in her arms. She hasn't been able to hold and hug him for ten years? She's got a lot of hugs to make up for.

She presses a kiss to his temple, just happy to hear the words about having Bruno here with her.]

I do have you. And you've got me. I'm not going anywhere, either, okay? We're in this together.

[He heaves out a soft little sigh, it's...good, honestly. He's missed his sisters desperately, he misses Pepa now. They were finally a set again and now they're back to being split up. It feels...wrong, but at least this time he can take comfort he isn't the triplet who's alone.]

Sure, we've uh...got this. Together.

[They had finally been reunited, it's true. They may still be together back home, Julieta didn't really know how it worked since she hadn't even noticed Bruno, Mirabel, Dolores, and the rest of the family missing until they told her she had been here for several weeks. Camilo hadn't seemed to notice she had been missing either.

So who was to say how this whole thing worked?

But what she did know was she had her family here to take care of, and that was first and foremost in her mind.]

Here, finish eating, okay?

[He can only hope that time shennanigans are in play. Maybe this world runs at a different pace than everywhere else? Who knows. He smiles, giving her a little tumbs up and getting to just that.]
