[Bruno is sitting in a large cavernous room with a sandpit in the middle. It's not the fun kind of sandpit though and Bruno is definitely not having a good time. He looks more stressed than usual as he turns the feed on.]

Okay, so I thought I'd give this looking into the future of this place thing one more shot. Just- just to see if I could see if anything...awful was coming. Or maybe if there was an exit to this unending nightmare? You know how it is. Anyway, the answer to that is absolutely not.

[He raises his little glass vision plate to the screen, just as poor quality as it was last month. He jabs a single finger at it in a panicked motion.]



Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, can I please draw your attention to the DECAPITATED HUMAN HEAD?!!! Okay there's also some...fish with glasses and kind of a cane here too and I don't know what that's about, but what I really think we should be focussing on here is the DeCApItAtEd HuMAn hEad.

[He drops the plate, raising his hands.]

Anyway, I'm done. I am super done with literally everything. I'm just gonna go back to living in the walls where I didn't have to worry about any, and I really can't stress this enough, decapitatted human heads.

He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. He's still someone who matters, regardless of whatever someone else "sees" of him or not.

And even if YOU don't see it, we do.

[ She honestly should just leave it at that. Except she knows that all it means is that he'll still keep thinking of Bruno as useless, and she just can't. ]

People aren't tools. You can't measure their worth on how much use you can get out of them.

People can and do, regardless of what you want. That's just life.

Maybe that's true. But just because people do it doesn't make it right. And it says more about them than it does about the person whose worth they're judging.

Especially if they refuse to listen to other people.

You don't think it's right, and that's on you, not anyone else. You're free to keep on thinking you're right, and the rest of us can live in the real world.

Except hasn't just been me. Other people have responded to you telling you pretty much the same.

So maybe you can think that we're all wrong, but with that many people telling you the same thing, maybe you should consider the possibility that your way of thinking isn't entirely right either.

[A reasonable person would stop and think that hey, maybe she has a point. Maybe he should stop and consider that this many people having the same reaction might mean something.

Except Hunter isn't exactly a reasonable person because he doesn't have that luxury, even when he's a dimension that could be a billion miles away from the Boiling Isles.]
