Hello people... and creatures formerly in the shape of people.

Bit of a question. After everything that's happened the Nanny business is booming. You throw a few demons at people, a random kidnapping or two, the sun disappearing from the sky and suddenly everyone wants to keep their kid under constant surveillance.

But lately its like... I dunno, an itch. I feel like branching out, trying something new. So I'm announcing the creation of a new detective agency.

[ Take that everyone who ever said he was a screwup! ]

I'm thinking; Demons in Disguise, Afreet Investigations, or Crowley Inc. The name needs finessing... Open to suggestion on that.

But what I could really use is some gear. I need all that sneaky detective stuff... trench coat, magnifying glass, and anti-demonic weapons that could still be held in the hands of a demon without causing him to melt into a puddle of goo. Normal things like that. Any store recommendations? Or maybe there's some one looking to make a few bucks by pulling a small job at a Church?

A detective service, how exciting! I've always enjoyed a good detective novel.

I can't say I personally know much about battling demons, but based on my readings, I suppose salt and holy water are generally the go-to, in addition to blessed weapons of a more traditional sense. I can't say how this would fare for a demon who wanted to also handle the item, however; can't say I've met any I'd be willing to arm in order to try.

Salt? Really?
That gives those little salt shakers in the middle of restaurant tables a whole new feature. Does it have to be blessed salt or will normal old table salt do?

A salt circle, generally, yes. Meant to keep them restrained. Or to keep them out when placed across a threshold. It's supposed to repel them and is also used to purify things.

I suspect any kind of salt will do. Some traditions call for Black Salt for protection, which is salt with iron shavings, or ash, or black pepper. Frankly, if it's available, I would use the iron shavings, because iron is supposed to also combat evil.

Table salt I could grab down at the grocers but where would anyone go about getting black salt with iron shavings... Pretty sure they don't sell that down at the 7/11.

Have you ever actually tested these out before or is it all theory?

Hobby supply shops? One of those home depots? Maybe even a garden department--I hear that iron is good for plants. I wouldn't be surprised if a crystal shop had some, as I've carried it in the past, but I imagine at such a shop it will be incredibly overpriced and come in an aesthetically-fitting but very small bottle.

It's not like I keep the company of demons. It's purely academic, but comes from excellent sources.

I don't think I've ever been in a church. I guess it would make sense for them to have anti-demon weapons, though. You need to steal some?

I think they usually keep it in the front of the hall, right behind the pulpit. And you will need something water tight to carry it in. I can't have that stuff splashing around.

I've heard they sometimes keep it right out in the open in a font. I'm not sure about the local Churches, they might keep it in a side room. You will have to search around for it as I can't really recon the place on my own.

I could use about a thermos full... Maybe a super soaker's amount too, just to have a back up.

Its very dangerous. I need some one to slip into one of the Churches after the Priests have gone for the evening and fill up a whole bucket with Holy Water.

Nah, maybe a canteen... something with a tightly fitting lid. It needs to be tightly sealed.

A detective service is a pretty good idea. It does sound like a more interesting job if you ask me. Maybe Afreet Investigations could be a great name for your new company.

I’m afraid that I don’t have that many experiences with demons back at home, but I sure fought a couple of them with tons of plants during last month’s incident within the Spirit Realm and a maze within a tear. I could get you a magnifying glass and a trench coat at the department store near my workplace if you’re okay with.

Where do you work that is that close to a department store?

Its fine with me, if they have any. For some reason I haven't been able to find either one of those things locally. They are all being sold for twice as much on ebay.

Why, I happen to work for a flower shop nearby. The department store is just a walk away from there so I could go to the store during my lunch break. Oh wow, I didn’t expect trench coats and magnifying glasses to be sold in high prices.

I think it's more than there isn't that high a demand for them anymore. I haven't seen that many detectives around.

Hm...need an employee? I know I was hesitant before when you were talking about the demon hunting business being a regular thing, but I'm starting to warm up to the idea.

It might not always be demon hunting. These portals have to close up eventually... But in case there are anymore huge hellhounds to deal with I could use you and your arsenal. You're hired.
