So I don't think it's gonna surprise anyone that next month ain't looking so great. Giant snakes, cryptic phrases, and on my end we have pessimism, sadness, and oppression! I'm not that kind of alchemist, but I'm pretty sure that's either the Eye of Ra or Horus--think it depends on which way it's facing. If memory serves, one's represented by cobras, the other by falcons. And if the sun's deciding to fuck off, which would not surprise me given the kind of things that happen around here, it would almost make sense if a sun deity were involved.

Or I could be talking complete nonsense. Hard to say.

The sun god for Egypt was Ra, right? I'm not super familiar with that pantheon, so I might be wrong, but is it possible that it's something of Ra's that we have to return? Or is it something WE have lost that needs to be returned?

Ra is the Egyptian sun god, yes. According to stories, he created the world but now mostly sticks to his duties of traveling on a sun-boat. During the day he's in the sky, while at night he makes a journey through the underworld.

As far as I know, his eye actually took the form of his daughters: Bastet, Sekhmet and Hathor. So if something needs to be returned to him, maybe it means one of them are lost?
