[GAME START] Welcome to Libra!
WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Network
WHEN: January 7th
WHAT: Welcome to Libra!
WARNINGS: None
[Wherever you are, your phone will start to ring and vibrate. It doesn’t matter if your phone was off or on mute - it will ring anyway. If you didn’t have a phone? You’ll have found one that has been delivered to your current location with a sticky note attached with your name on it.
The ringing will continue until you check your phone. The entire screen has been locked to a new app that downloaded: Libra. It looks like a social media app, even though you’ve never heard of it before. Worst yet, there seems to be no closing this app until you read and respond to the message displayed]
Welcome to Libra! Libra is an innovative app developed by the good folks at Zodiac™ to connect people with similarities that set them apart from the average crowd!
There’s a lot to talk about, but we don’t want to pile too much on you! Instead, let's start things off with a little icebreaker! It’s a little late, but we hope it's still relevant!

This post is sponsored by the 2021 Kaisou Winter Carnival! Get out and enjoy the cold!
[Users will have the option to choose their own display names and userpics. If nothing is chosen, the app will use their real name and a quick photo taken of them from their camera's phone.
Mod Note: The game has officially begun! The first event log will take place on January 9th, but players are free to make their own logs and posts! There will be no NPC response in this network post, so feel free to interact with each other!]

surprise 2/2

How am I the only dead one again? It sounds like you should be dead if you provoked THAT many people with guns, magic or no magic.

[Even though Zelos is at peace with being... at peace, the reminder makes Amal frown a little. It's too late to save him, but there's still that... wish. That regret. He's only known Zelos for a little while but he hasn't seen him do anything worthy of being killed. Whatever he did do, Amal can't imagine it was that bad.]

I think it's more than just the face causing it.

well my ass is a bigger target technically

i guess?????
i don't think i'll be changing my battle strategy though
no subject
I'll look forward to not being the only token dead guy of our lil group.

i didn't become an adventurer because i thought i'd live to see sixty, to be fair

elezen can live to be 120, but i doubt i will since i'm only half. kind of wish my mother had passed on the height along with the ears
no subject
[A half-elezen huh]
But from the sounds of it, the only similarity you might got with those guys is your ears. Sucks to be you.

trust me, you don't need to give me more reasons to hate elves
no subject
[But yeah, it's probably lonely. Still, not gonna touch the lonely thing with a ten foot pole]
Oh? Something the matter with them?
no subject
[neither will he, seeing as it's not worth thinking about]
the majority of them live in an old, frigid city that thrives on greed and prejudice perpetuated by the upper class. and they really, really don't like half-elezen. i'd been called every name under the sun for my mixed blood even before i got there, but in ishgard it was ten thousand times worse.
of course not every elezen is like that, and the people of ishgard are diverse even if they like to pretend otherwise. still... there's a particular kind of nastiness that you only get when people hide their hatred behind religion and tradition, even if it's all made up.
i trust my elezen friends with my life and that's probably the only reason i haven't gotten thrown in jail for murder along with everything else

Jeez, swap it for humans and it sounds like the city I'm from.
Though, I can't say the elves behave much better either. They won't even let half-elves into their village.
[He's sure that's not something Amal wants to hear, but Zelos has never been known for being gentle with words.]
Sorry you had to deal with all that.
no subject
[He's not hurt by it, but it's sobering to realize he's not the only one in this position, outside of his own world. In Ishgard he at least had Hilda Ware—but he'd hoped other worlds would be different.]
it's ok. i learned a long time ago that people will make up their minds about you before you even open your mouth. rather than wasting energy on trying to change their opinions, i decided it was way more constructive to just do my own thing.
and if that thing happens to be helping the people they look down on, even better
i call it "constructive spite"
no subject
[TO PUT IT MILDLY]
Haha, constructive spite. I like that! Definitely something I could get behind.
no subject
it's gotten me this far, at least!
