Possession Support Group - 1st Meeting

[In the empty high school gym, Mirabel has stolen, er, borrowed a few supplies. There’s a table with food and coffee - little snack things like cookies and pastries, but as promised she brought homemade empanadas that she made herself.

There’s chairs arranged in a small circle. And when Mirabel’s not setting up, she can be found sitting in one of the chairs.]

So… how about we start by introducing ourselves?

[She’s not forcing anyone to talk, but letting people introduce themselves and know that there are other possessed folk out there makes this possession business easier.]

[ Luisa can't help hanging back a bit from the crowd as people are mingling or getting settled. Not because she's uncomfortable talking about her own possession - even though she is, but even though it's difficult to talk about she finds that she can now when it's asked about. But mostly because she knows that this is a sensitive topic for a lot of people, and she worries that she might come across as a bit intimidating if she tries to approach anyone. The last thing she would want to do is scare anyone off.

So she stays mostly off to the side, even as people take their seats and Mirabel asks for introductions, trying to look as non-threatening as possible. ]

[Mirabel already knows the details of Luisa's possession, and like with everyone else, she'll let her talk at her own pace - she doesn't put Luisa on the spot, call her out, or anything like that.

After it's over, Mirabel can be found cleaning up the gym and packing things up. She looks at Luisa if she comes close enough.]

Well... what did you think of the first meeting?

[ Luisa stays to help clean up, of course, and when she's close enough she gives her sister a smile. ]

I think it turned out pretty good. I'm glad people showed up, even though not too many people said anything. I guess we're all still just getting a feel for each other, though, which makes sense.

I'm glad they did too. Not a lot of people talked, but I kinda figured that... it's hard to open up about the kind of things we went through.

Yeah, I know. But this is a good first step. Hopefully people will start feeling more comfortable if this becomes a regular thing.
