UN: Zodiac | Happy July!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Libra App
WHEN: July 1st
WHAT: Zodiac Network Post
WARNINGS: None!

[July's heat and humidity has already started rolling in, with the evening air being hot and sticky. Wherever you are, your phone will start to ring and vibrate. It doesn’t matter if your phone was off or on mute - it will ring anyway. Checking the phone, you'll see the Libra app has opened itself and will not close until you read and response to a new post from Zodiac.]

Hello! Thank you for using the Libra App!

We hope you find this message well! We have an exciting announcement for a new feature that our programmers and alchemists have been hard at work perfecting since the incident in May. Starting today, the Libra app child safety safeguards have been enhanced! Children ages fifteen and younger will not be able to enter any parts of the Spirit Realm deemed dangerous without an older person accompanying them! We hope this step will help protect the younger demographic of Libra users going forward!

Moving on, our seers have been cautiously optimistic that this month will be a calmer one! Perfect timing to enjoy the summer sun and take a much needed vacation.
Though, it seems the water element will be in full effect this month, so little can be done about the humidity. Try to stay cool and hydrated everyone! Stop by the Dennys near Undertown for one of their many cool refreshing drinks, or sweat it out with some spicy food at Wanmin Restaurant in Midtown!

But oh, a word of warning from the fine folks at P.O.K.E.G.O: anyone who chooses to go visit to our lovely State Park to get away from the city should be on the look out for ice bears, cactus creatures and dragons. Also, make sure to check for ticks, watch out for poison ivy, and avoid littering!

That's all from us today! We hope you have a fantastic holiday weekend and we leave you with one of our ever popular icebreaker questions!

This post has been sponsored by High Seas Boating Company! Stop being a land lubber and get out on the sea!

[Users will have the option to choose their own display names and userpics if they haven't already. If nothing is chosen, the app will use their real name and a quick photo taken of them from their camera's phone. Like always, there'll be no responses from Zodiac.

OOC Note: To avoid overloading players, the group chat updates will be skipped until next Friday (July 8th)!]

[ Okay. Huge relief. "Of course you're not" rather than just a "no" gives him his own weird twinge of tender feelings. He's not even sure what being in trouble with Bruno would be like, except knowing he'd feel really guilty about upsetting him — maybe much like he felt when he ghosted Bruno for two days when Luca arrived and Bruno got scared. But much guiltier. Bruno's pretty much the last person he'd wanna cause trouble for; he's had enough without Alberto lending his own problems... He doesn't want another Massimo situation on his hands; no fires, no ruining business, no explosions, no pets in danger... He's been really determined about that all along. He's tried extra hard to be a "good kid" around Bruno since getting close in Stardew, for many reasons; but at any time in his life, he's intrinsically never really sure if he's doing it right — unless he's definitely doing it wrong... So reading "Of course you're not in trouble" strikes a chord — like confirmation he's not an inch away from messing up, like he so often teeters on. And it definitely defuses the conversation at hand, as well. ]

I guess no one should be in that situtaion no matter how old they are...
I still don't get why kids cant go with other kids though.
or why ONLY kids need a partner.
but the rest makes sense...

[Alberto would be much less stressed about being a good kid if he realises what a categorical mess Bruno was in his own childhood. Because of that, his concerns rest with Alberto being safe, unharmed and as happy as possible. ]

Because like I said, a lot of kids don't know how to take care of themselves. It's easier to make a rule for all kids than saying "except the kids who can take care of themselves" because how do you prove that? How does the magic even decide that?

[ Okay, thankfully, the delay in his response time is slowly shortening. That's a sign that the good sense Bruno's offering may be sinking in... Alberto's going to have quite the emotional time processing this whole conversation later. Without regards to the news that twelve is not old enough to take care of himself — that's gonna be a whole other can of worms or two — but the resolution building here is ultimately... pretty impressive parenting, in effect. Bravo, Bruno. Not only did Alberto "lose" an argument and was not in trouble in the first place (will compute later), but he's not even... upset... about losing the argument...? He doesn't feel he was silenced or spoken down to; his questions about the rules were calmly answered with explanations that seem reasonable and make sense to him, which is... not at all what he's used to from adults... He doesn't feel the lingering resistance he used to feel when his dad would lay down the law, nor the silent resignation or vague guilt that came with Massimo's less verbal approach. No, it's weird, this was just... a conversation. One that actually kind of— changed Alberto's mind...? A little. He'll still probably kvetch about this rule to other indignant kids, sure — but it'll be just that: kvetching. Not the heated protests he'd started with. Bruno's gifted him some excellent counterpoints in defusing all that now.

Alberto has no real model for how he's supposed to treat Bruno, who treats the boy unlike any adult ever has, simply by... listening and talking. Not just one or the other. They may be winging it, whatever "it" is that they're building between themselves, but... it's working. ]

OK. That's a good point. especially about the magic...
I guess the chaperon rule is pretty fair.it'd be unfair if kids weren't allowed to go AT ALL...
