[Mercedes has had golden scales around her hips, forearms, lower legs, and elegantly framing her face for about a month now. That was fine, a bit alarming but not inconveniencing her in any way. Now, though.... Well. She waits for a reasonable hour, say 10 am, before posting a video to Libra.]

Good morning, everyone... I'm sorry to intrude, but I was hoping someone might be able to help me? I'm not really sure how to...well. Use a new transformation?

[She sets her phone down and backs away to show what she means. Notably, she's wearing her swimsuit, with even more notable brand new wings sprouting from her back. They're sizeable golden dragon wings with black accents, at different angles of folded. They move awkwardly.]

To be honest, I hardly even know what to ask. Other than, do I look good?

[They really are beautiful, up close, but....looks like the leathery parts, stretched thin over bone, bruise easily. A little healing will go a long way.]

This is going to take a lot of getting used to. It's a little hard to balance, too...

Your aesthetic sense is impeccable. As for things you need to know, we can start with this: Can you put them away?

Good to hear it. Putting them away....do I just...will that to happen?

[She is a total novice at magic appendages, but...maybe using some of her knowledge from other magic??? She's thinking very hard about it, at least.]

Essentially, yes. It's like folding them normally, but if you could take it further and fold them away like cloth rather than a part of you.

[He tucks his wings away and then unfurls them again as an example.]

With enough practice, it should become as easy as moving your other limbs. [A pause.] ...Additionally, I would recommend investing in shirts that leave a portion of your back exposed. It'll save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

I see. [She's...going to practice folding and stretching them? She is not good at this, has no instinct for it. The apartment's a little cramped to do much more than this, but if she can just get some control, that will be a good start. She has not managed to actually put them away yet.]

I've asked my brother to pick up some halter tops so I won't be stuck in my swimsuit. Thank goodness it's summer.

...So I see. I wonder if they're at all reversible? Someone else has suggested I might be able to put the wings away when I don't want them, have you explored that with your transformation?

Oh, I hope so. It's kind of a pain being this small. And getting mistaken for an animal by a lot of regular humans. But...I'm not sure if it is. I've been trying all sorts of things, and I don't seem to be able to 'put' anything away.

It must be incredibly inconvenient... Do ordinary people only see you as an animal? Even people who knew you before you changed?

I'll see if I can come up with anything. Maybe there's at least a way to mitigate the changes.

[If the wings were green and she had horns to match, Mercedes would almost start to look like an older version of a girl that has been a recurring figure in some of Kat's dreams, dreams that she's now pretty sure are more memories belonging to whoever it is that she was before.

It hasn't yet become clear to her who, exactly, the girl in those dreams is, but she felt important somehow. Whether she was important to Kat herself or simply important in general, she doesn't know.

None of that is actually important right now, so without so much as any mention of it, Kat just answers the question, holding her phone just far enough away that the bottom of the thing on her head is just barely visible on the camera.]

They're rather sensitive, I'm not sure if that's just because they're new or not... Are you alright, though?

It could be because they're new, or maybe because they're wings, I think either of those would make sense.

[As for how Kat herself is doing...] What, you mean how I'm holding up with this thing? [She reaches her free hand up and tugs at it a bit, but doesn't bring it any farther into view yet.] I've had a couple months to get used to it, I'm fine.
